The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 488 - 363: Proper Upbringing
She paused, her gaze directed at the group of men, "The Phoenix Egg and Dragon Egg have hatched, I need to go in and take a look."
Without waiting for the men to react, she swiftly slipped into the space.
Leaving behind a few bewildered men.
Soon, their eyes turned in unison towards Soren Phoenix and Mael Valerius.
"What? My precious eggs have hatched?"
Soren Phoenix came to his senses, his eyes filled with delight, ready to follow and see his treasured eggs, only to find Luna Sutton had already disappeared.
In an instant, he stomped anxiously, the Fire-red Feather Fan snapped shut, "Luna runs so fast."
Mael Valerius lowered his eyes, dark gold pupils shimmering, his fingertips unconsciously rubbing lightly.
He pondered secretly in his heart.
Who knows what it would be like once hatched, what its aptitude would be, whether male or female?
Probably a male chick...
The space belonged to Luna Sutton, and without her leading, Soren Phoenix and Mael Valerius couldn’t enter, so they could only wait where they were.
Inside the space.
As Luna Sutton entered the space, she was stunned by the scene before her.
Three newborn little phoenixes, though called little phoenixes, actually looked no different from newly hatched chicks, just with brighter feathers, fiery red, still covered with a sticky liquid, awkwardly flying over the wooden house.
Perhaps not too skilled or simply inexperienced, the three little phoenixes flew and somehow bumped their heads and bodies together suddenly with a ’thud’ sound, falling to the ground from mid-air.
They chirped incessantly.
Their expressions seemed to contain a bit of grievance.
She burst into laughter instantly and quickly went forward to check the condition of the three little phoenixes, which had fallen in a dizzy mess, flapping their wings, wanting to fly up again.
"Don’t rush, take it slow."
She carefully picked them up from the ground, seeing their feathers covered in egg-shell-like sticky liquid, sticky and gooey.
With a smile, Luna Sutton decided to take them to the Spiritual Spring for a wash.
The three little creatures were quite obedient, not causing trouble, submitting to her cleaning, occasionally rubbing their heads against her palm.
After cleaning, she placed them on the grass.
The three little phoenixes shook their feathers, scattering water droplets, their feathers fiery red and bright, looking similar in size and appearance.
But upon closer inspection, there were still differences.
Two had brighter feathers, longer and more forked tail feathers, a slightly larger build, and more vibrant colors.
While one had slightly lighter-colored feathers, shorter tail feathers, and a somewhat smaller build.
She wasn’t adept at distinguishing male from female among phoenixes, so she directly asked the system, "System, is the one with lighter feathers and shorter tail a female chick?"
The system responded instantly, "Yes, this one is a female chick, the first to hatch, the eldest sister. The two with brighter feathers are male chicks, the one on the left hatched second, the second sibling, the one on the right hatched last, the third sibling."
She slightly nodded, only picking up the female phoenix to examine, thinking if Soren Phoenix knew he got a daughter, he would probably laugh awake from dreaming.
But, these three little ones need good upbringing, if they grow up as spoiled and unruly as Celestia Fawkes, it would be a headache.
Celestia Fawkes and Soren Phoenix are not of the same mother but share the same father.
Strictly speaking, Celestia Fawkes is the little one’s aunt, who knows if there’s any genetic trait from Celestia Fawkes inside.
Probability is uncertain.
Also considering Xylon Phoenix.
Oh dear, she found that aside from Soren Phoenix, the Phoenix Clan doesn’t have any good traits, better not resemble those.
Luna Sutton sighed and looked at the two male chicks.
If these two little creatures were anything like their grandfather Xylon Phoenix, it would be troublesome.
It’s not uncommon for grandsons to resemble their grandfathers.
She’d rather they were as handsome and charming as Soren Phoenix, frequently adored, than like that old thing Xylon Phoenix.
No way, she should seriously talk to Soren Phoenix, these three chicks need rules set from a young age, or their personalities might grow crooked and be irreparable.
She picked up the three little phoenixes and returned to the wooden house.
Just as she entered the room.
A sound of water splashing reached her ears.
Luna Sutton’s gaze instantaneously turned to the large wooden barrel placed in the corner.
She saw a golden little ’snake,’ no, a Young Dragon poke its head out from inside, its body slender, like chopsticks, covered in fine scales.
Amidst the gold scales, faint pink showed, seemingly transparent down to its tender flesh, full of youth.
At first glance, it looked like a little snake.
It swam to the edge of the barrel, appearing to want to climb out.
Seeing it about to fall out.
She hurriedly put down the three little phoenixes, quickly reaching to catch it.
The golden Young Dragon managed to catch it.
But the next second, a blue Young Dragon suddenly appeared, and with a "plop," it fell to the ground.
Luna Sutton hastily squatted on the ground, cradling the golden Young Dragon in her left hand while trying to catch the blue Young Dragon with her right hand. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
The two Young Dragons twisted and squirmed in her palms, their slender bodies wrapping around her fingers. The cool, slippery sensation gave her goosebumps.
Luckily, she was used to it.
"Geez, why do these little guys act like eels?"
She complained in her heart, but her hands carefully held onto them, afraid they might fall again.
"All newly hatched Young Dragons are like this. They’ll be fine once their scales harden."
The system replied lazily.
"Are both of these males? Or is one a female?"
She couldn’t tell and quickly asked the system for convenience.
"They’re both males. With that lunatic Mael Valerius, filled with testosterone, no way he’s fated to have daughters. Even if he had eight or ten broods, they’d all be males."
The system spoke with a schadenfreude tone, imagining the day when a flamboyant guy would show off his daughters in front of The Mad Dragon, making it eager to watch the drama unfold.
As it continued, the voice seemed increasingly teasing.
Luna chuckled at this, lightly tapping the golden Young Dragon’s small head with her fingertip, "Looks like your dad is destined not to have a little girl."
The two Young Dragons looked up at her in confusion, and the golden Young Dragon even stuck out a small tongue to lick her finger, tickling her into more laughter.
Seeing this, the three Phoenix chicks also flapped their wings and snuggled over, chirping and trying to burrow into her arms.
For a moment, she was flustered, nearly missing the catch of these little creatures.
"Don’t fuss, don’t fuss..."
She helplessly placed them all on the soft cushion.
Glancing out of the corner of her eye at the Jianmu tree that had grown quite a bit outside the window, she paused for a moment.
Busy with dealing with the plague lately, she had forgotten about the Jianmu planted in the spirit field within the space.
Hurriedly, she picked up the five little ones and walked out of the wooden cabin, heading towards the spirit field.
From afar, she could see a lush green sapling swaying in the breeze, its trunk no taller than an adult, but its leaves displayed a peculiar semi-transparency, with faintly visible golden fluid flowing through its veins.
It was once just a seed, and now it had grown so large.
"It grows so fast..."
She stepped closer and discovered a small barrier had naturally formed around the Jianmu, continuously channeling the Spiritual Energy from the spirit field into the trunk.
On the leaves, a few crystalline dewdrops had condensed, exuding a faint fragrance.
Luna thought it was just ordinary dew and casually glanced at it without paying much attention.
She was about to turn and leave.
Suddenly, the system urgently reminded her in her mind: "Host, quickly catch those droplets of dew. That’s the Jianmu Spirit Dew, one drop can awaken a common beast’s intelligence. If your little ones drink it, their wisdom will greatly increase. This is good stuff, and once it falls to the soil, it’s wasted."
Luna froze for a moment, placed the five little ones down, and rushed back towards the wooden cabin.
Mere moments later, she emerged with a clay bowl in hand.
Before she could walk over to catch the Jianmu Spirit Dew,
the golden and the blue Young Dragons had already climbed up the tree trunk of the Jianmu, scaling towards the dew-covered leaves along the branches.
Although the little ones were light, they still had some weight, causing the branches to tremble slightly, and the Spirit Dew looked like it was about to drip down.
"Careful."
Her heart leapt into her throat, and she rushed over in a few quick steps, holding the bowl in one hand to catch the dew and using the other to guard the two little ones about to fall.
Surprisingly, the golden Young Dragon hooked its tail around the branch and didn’t fall.
Instead, its small head approached the leaf, and the Spirit Dew flowed right into its mouth.
The blue Young Dragon behind, seeing its brother drink the dew, got anxious immediately and whipped its tail around,
hooked another branch, and mimicked its brother by opening its mouth to catch the dew on the leaf.
The three Phoenix chicks, frustrated, flitted back and forth. Unfortunately, they couldn’t control their direction well. Though they intended to drink the dew on the leaf, their speedy flight knocked the Spirit Dew down instead.
Luckily, Luna’s quick reflexes saved the day, swiftly catching it with the clay bowl.
"Don’t worry, you all have a share. Let Matron handle it."
She collected the three Phoenix chicks, delicately capturing the dew on the Jianmu leaves—five drops in total, perfect for each of the five little ones.
The two Young Dragons had already drunk their portion, leaving the remaining three drops for the three Phoenix chicks.
As for Kael, Kael Shadowend, Frey, the eight little snake hatchlings, and Zora outside the space,
they would have to wait until the Jianmu condensed more Spirit Dew to feed them.
Although the little ones had drunk the Spirit Dew, no immediate effects were visible. Perhaps it would take some time to manifest.
Luna placed the bowl back in the wooden cabin, mindful that the men were still waiting outside, so she didn’t linger inside.
Soon, she took the little ones outside.
