The Witcher – Uchiha Madara!-Chapter 316 – Finding the Witcher-Shinobi.
[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]
Third Person POV
Kaer Morhen.
...
...
"You seem busy." In the middle of a castle, the wizard who was reading immediately raised his gaze, seeing someone calmly approaching from the shadows of that afternoon.
The one who was called looked at him for a moment and soon shrugged. "Funny… I thought you had left. It seems I was mistaken," Vesemir said with a tired tone in his elderly timbre.
"Indeed, my clone had left and dispersed. He only left something here as soon as he spoke with you," Madara said simply. In other words, he was the original.
"So you are the real one," Vesemir murmured, raising an eyebrow.
"And I'm not alone either." Right behind him came three figures with feminine curves.
As expected, Madara's clone had arrived in Kaer Morhen 2 days after leaving Novigrad, crossing the continent from one side to the other. Madara's clone placed the Hiraishin seal in the castle. Then Madara, wanting to see the old witcher, brought along the 2 sorceresses and Ciri, since they naturally knew Vesemir and wanted to visit him.
"Grandpa!" Ciri opened a wide smile and approached, with the light of the hearth finally showing her colors in the castle hall.
Vesemir was a little stunned as he stood up, seeing the little girl with whom he had spent some years of his life return. He had already dealt with the surprise of finding a clone of Madara the day before, but this was different.
Now he was seeing Ciri.
She approached and hugged Vesemir, treating him the same way she always treated the figures she considered family. Ciri never really had a normal family. Calanthe was not exactly a grandmother, but a maternal figure, her mother replacing Pavetta. And Eist, married to her grandmother, was a kind of uncle to Ciri. After all, Geralt became her father figure, always having more of a fatherly posture than Eist ever would. Triss was like a sister, and even Yennefer had become a second mother to her. Mousesack and Vesemir played the roles of grandfathers for the girl.
"You stink of weed," Ciri grumbled, pulling away from Vesemir.
"Well, I was taking care of some potions," he grumbled back, but he couldn't help smiling as he looked at the girl. "You've certainly grown… and it seems the news is true. I mean…," he hesitated, "about the child in your belly."
Vesemir had already heard about the rumors of the royal wedding, but only now did he confirm the pregnancy that Geralt had told him about. It was a matter kept secret, something Madara and the others were trying to hide from everyone, although many already suspected that, naturally, a child would be born from the marriage.
"And would that be a unicorn?" Vesemir asked, seeing Eira approach alongside the sorceresses.
"Yes. He came too. We didn't want to leave him alone, didn't Geralt say anything about him? We received him as a gift from the king of Redania... His name is Eira," Ciri replied.
The unicorn merely neighed proudly.
Vesemir seemed genuinely surprised. He had never seen a real unicorn — creatures that many considered mere legends, even rarer than dragons.
"Can we spend the night here?" Ciri immediately asked Madara, while the sorceresses joined Ciri and Vesemir, exchanging a few words and catching up.
Madara agreed. There was no reason to refuse. Ciri had stayed in the temple for so long, and even with Yennefer, it was tedious to remain in just one place, even with Madara spending almost every night sleeping at the temple with Ciri using teleportation to get around. Yennefer and Triss also had no urgent matters and agreed to stay there.
The day basically came down to that. On days when they didn't need to train, Madara only took care of the castle's chores. He easily went to fetch an animal to roast and chopped firewood, while Vesemir talked about how his recent meeting with Geralt had gone, who had left the castle going after the creature that had marked Madara and Ciri.
Vesemir was called to train with Ciri and of course accepted, wanting to see how she was doing, ending up losing to the girl in a way that his 200 years could no longer deal with that girl in front of him.
At night, after dinner, Madara informed them that he would stay there a little longer, as he needed to talk to Vesemir. The old witcher remained at the table to listen to the shinobi, while everyone else went to their rooms.
Madara began by talking about the witchers who were hunting Ciri and who possessed chakra. This certainly left Vesemir worried.
"I will be going to hunt them down. My plans are already circulating throughout the entire area south of Kaedwen and also entering Rivia. They are in this region."
"I was surprised when you said they were still alive years ago and now they're here...," Vesemir murmured, quite worried.
"I know the founder of the School of the Wolf was your teacher, but don't expect me to have mercy on them," Madara said, with a dangerous tone.
Vesemir stared at him and nodded. If they really wanted to kill Madara, it was death they were seeking in return. Not to mention that it had been them who handed over the Uchiha clan three hundred years ago and disappeared about one hundred and eighty years ago. When Vesemir was still just an apprentice, they were already secretly working for another continent.
The second subject Madara discussed with him was about what he had found in Toussaint. As he spoke, he began to remove everything he had taken from that laboratory, including the mutagenic machine itself, handing over the records and notes. Vesemir could not help but be extremely surprised by all of it: a way to increase, improve, and evolve one's own mutation and that of other witchers, making witchers even more powerful.
"I'm sure it won't be easy work, but if you manage to master this, I'm sure you'll be able to greatly increase your strength," Madara said, before returning to the room where his wife was waiting for him.
They remained in Kaer Morhen until the following day, when they returned once again to the temple. Madara went to Novigrad to deal with other matters, while Ciri returned to training with Yennefer.
The routine continued the same for two days. Madara came and went, jumping between seals across the continent in a single instant. His plans were in motion, searching for the witchers while at the same time continuing to spy on the kings and deal with other issues.
This lasted until one morning, when one of the clones was dispersed while the original was handling matters with the High Priest of the Eternal Fire. Upon receiving the clone's memories, without delay, Madara left the city and disappeared, reappearing shortly after the sun rose, south of Kaedwen, near the place where he had saved those fishermen years earlier, when they were fleeing the war.
The clone had passed him traces of shinobi movement. Anyone who moved in that manner, the same way Madara did, could be identified, and it hadn't been more than a few hours since then. It was during the night that they had passed through there, slowing down, most likely choosing a place to camp... That was why the clone had dispersed, so that the original himself would deal with that individual.
Madara touched the ground and confirmed the trail the invaders had taken, following it back into the forest. Everything seemed normal, until he felt something — just before a white light advanced toward him at high speed, colliding with him and exploding the area where he was in flames.
The white flames parted, revealing bluish bones protecting him, as Madara activated the Mangekyō Sharingan.
His eyes narrowed. There had been no one in that area until that moment. He raised an eyebrow.
"Could it be that these witchers turned shinobi have some special spatial ability, like I do?" he wondered.
But when he saw who his attacker was a few dozen meters away from him, he realized he was completely mistaken.
He had been struck by a strange magic of white flames, which still burned around him, although he remained protected by the bones of Susanoo.
What emerged before him was a creature that had surprised Vesemir a few days earlier, and which Madara was seeing one of for the second time.
It was a unicorn, stomping its hoof on the ground, staring at him with fierce eyes.
Madara needed no more than a glance to understand what was happening.
It was Eira's mother.
"I smell my son on you, human," the voice echoed telepathically.
Madara thought about the night he had spent at the temple. While he slept, Eira had approached and laid down beside him, since Ciri was kicking the bed while sleeping and the unicorn always suffered because of it.
As he hadn't washed himself early that morning, the scent still lingered on his clothes. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Madara stared at the unicorn. He could simply place her in a genjutsu and explain the situation, but why miss the opportunity to test the power of an adult unicorn?
"You want him. I know where your son is, but I'll only tell you if you defeat me." Madara was not worried about the witcher-shinobi. If they were of the same strength as those he had faced in the war — which they most likely were, in terms of power scale — he did not feel challenged. But an adult unicorn was something he was unfamiliar with. They had the ability to travel between worlds and had even defeated the elves of the Wild Hunt in their current world. He had no idea of their true strength.
It was an opportunity.
His chakra seemed to explode as he began to materialize the Susanoo, forming the complete skeleton.
"If you want information about your son… then try to take it from me," Madara challenged, from within the Susanoo taking shape.
The unicorn responded with a neigh, beginning to glow intensely at that moment.
Madara merely took a combat stance.
"Let's dance," he said.
Meanwhile, a few kilometers away, a camp had been set up. There were five people with elderly appearances, but their bodies were far from fragile. Quite the opposite: they displayed strength and well-defined muscles. Their eyes were indifferent — and at the same time, fierce.
"Let's go to Kaer Morhen, then. We've wasted too much time in Rivia looking for information... We haven't found a single witcher since we arrived on the continent, it's rather disappointing, I wanted to test the difference in our strength," one of them murmured.
"Difference in strength? We're far more powerful than they are, so much so that most of them disappeared. Even without chakra, we could have handled the situation better than those who stayed behind to command the schools," another scoffed.
"Well, that doesn't matter now. We'll deal with whoever is there, get information easily, and pass everything on to 'her'," a third commented.
The others merely nodded in agreement. Everything seemed far too simple. They said nothing more, only preparing to leave, when they heard a small crack, followed by a distant explosion.
Their cold eyes immediately turned in that direction, some of them frowning.
"What was that? Is some kind of fight going on?" one of them asked, looking toward the horizon.
"That's not a simple fight. That was an explosion. Could it be sorcerers?" another replied, uncertain.
Suddenly, a huge explosion lit up the region for an instant. Flames emerged, followed by a thunderous echo, making all the witchers frown even more.
"That…"
"Let's go. We need to see what's happening."
They immediately abandoned the camp, moving over the trees in that direction.
So far, nothing seemed capable of surprising them, but what they saw early in the morning left them stunned. As they drew closer, they saw white flames mixing with red flames, burning against each other, as if trying to consume one another. That was enough to make them hesitate, without fully understanding what was happening.
A roar echoed amid the flames and, in the next instant, the entire region began to tremble. Trees started to rise from the ground, surpassing any other in the forest. Around two hundred of them were born in a matter of seconds, larger than any common tree, spreading throughout the area, each giant tree standing over 30 meters tall.
"What is this? I can feel chakra…," one of them said, easily reaching that conclusion.
This was one who possessed a red eye — none other than a 3-tomoe Sharingan embedded within it. He was the founder of the School of the Glyph, specializing more in magic. The eye had been preserved from the massacre of the Uchiha clan 300 years ago and perfectly implanted for that mission: to identify the only shinobi on that continent.
The use of the Sharingan was extremely difficult and consumed an absurd amount of energy, but even so, it was the best weapon he had to find Madara.
"You're saying that, if there's chakra, then our target is there… and he's creating a massive forest?" This made the entire group frown.
What kind of power did that bastard have to create the trees they were seeing? There, an entire forest of giant trees had been born amid the flames.
A light came from the other side, as if whoever was fighting had not given in.
Without them realizing it, the ground beneath them began to crack. They barely had time to react when the head of a wooden dragon exploded from the soil, charging directly toward their position.
A wooden clone of Madara emerged right above the creature, coming from the depths of the earth, with a wide smile on his face.
"Well, since you've come, let me deal with you, while my original is still playing with the unicorn."
Madara's clone laughed and charged at the men, whom he considered pathetic, possessing far less chakra than the shinobi he had faced during the war.
