The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 236: Whose family did she belong to?
Nobody had told Alix that auntie Mo had a bit of an overly dramatic nature, even more than she had portrayed so far. She was like an actress in a tv drama.
At the police station, when Alix arrived to give her statement as a witness, she found her auntie Mo with her left hand in a cast. Her face was pale, eyes had bags beneath and she looked sickly, in a way. One could only imagine the kind of suffering she had endured all this time.
Alix couldn't help wondering if this was the same woman that had planted flowers with her the day before.
While Auntie Mo looked sickly, Jing Hee was seething. Her eyes were narrowed and her lips tightly drawn. She was glaring at auntie Mo as if they were enemy soldiers from different states.
Both women were not alone and they were accompanied by lawyers and family members. On auntie Mo's side was her husband, chairman Heng, Tai Change and grandma Tai.
On Jing Hee's side was her husband Lin Qianfan and not surprising, Lin Billi.
Alix didn't think that she would be seeing her father or sister at the police station. In fact, she was surprised to see Lin Billi there at all.
A celebrity in a police station was always a source of interest to people and attracted speculation and gossip. As for her scummy father, Alix guessed that he was not there for Jing Hee personally but rather because this issue involved the wife of the current chairman of TFK. He was here because of money, influence and power.

If it was necessary, he was going to throw Jing Hee under the bus if he had to in order to right things. If the Tai's were wolves, he was going to throw her to them and watch as they toe her flesh apart.
Auntie Mo latched onto Alix pretty quickly when she noticed that the other was frozen in surprise by the surprising number of people here, her Lin family particularly. So, before they could confuse her, she got to Alix first. "Officer, she is here. My good niece can testify for me."
Jing Hee scoffed and shouted, "Officer, that is my daughter. That is not her niece, she is my daughter. How can my own daughter testify against me?"
The middle aged detective in a old brown jacket was rather confused. From the information taken down so far, these two families were unrelated. Why then was the witness a niece to one family and a daughter to the other one?
He looked at the name of the witness and clearly saw that she was named Lin. This meant she was indeed the daughter of the assailant.
But, she was here as a witness for the victim. The confused detective Shao looked from side to side, wondering what he was missing. This was a very confusing case and the higher ups had advised him to tread carefully and wrap the case up as quickly as possible without treading on any toes. Suddenly, he felt like his faint little heart could not take this anymore.
Perhaps it would have been better if another person took it on.
"Xi-Xi, come here to your father, let's talk for a bit." Lin Qianfan called out.
He gestured at Alix with a wave of his hand but Alix stayed glued to the ground and her feet did not budge. She looked on ahead at the detective as if she didn't see or hear her father.
"What are you doing you wench? Did you not hear your father?" Jing Hee yelled.
Grandma Tai raised her voice as well. "Officer, do you see that? What kind of mother would shout at her daughter and call her a wench? Our Xi-Xi is not related to them at all. She is my granddaughter, her name is Tai Alix."
Detective Shao did not approve of the way Jing Hee spoke to Alix and he was confused. Why would a mother call her daughter a wench?
"Yes, she is Tai Alix." Auntie Mo added, nodding very much.
"We have pictures from home to prove it." Chairman Heng also added his voice and supported the women. Additionally, he dangled his phone in front of the eyes of the detective to prove that Alix was a member of their family.
Lin Qianfan was very confused. Was this his daughter or not? Why did the Tai's keep claiming her as one of their own? Were the Tai's insane?
Auntie Mo was not done with her claim and she said, "If they are family too, then they should produce pictures together with our pretty baby to prove family relation."
They all knew that Alix did not have any pictures with her father, let alone Jing Hee. To those two, she did not matter and her existence might as well have been a myth.
Lin Billi was both angry and frustrated. She was angry because Alix was being claimed and protected by the Tai's who seemed to love her so much and frustrated because more than a few eyes had looked at her curiously. If her father didn't drag her here, she would not have come. This was embarrassing for a celebrity like her and all she wanted to do was leave the station.
"Officer, our family situation is a bit complicated but we are her family indeed. We can do a DNA test right now. That is my sister Lin Alix and she just happens to be very close with our Tai family aunts and uncles. I apologize for any misunderstandings that have risen due to this situation. Maybe we should just settle this alone between our families."
She spoke softly and politely with a small smile on her face that begged understanding. She even bowed and folded her arms in a pleading manner.
It seemed as if the detective was melting under her fox like eyes.
Very unhappy as she witnessed this pretentious attitude and listened to sly Billi, auntie Mo could not hold herself back. "Young celebrity miss, stay out of this unless you want to be at the receiving end of my sharp tongue. Do not call us your aunts and uncles?" She looked at the detective and said, "What's most important here is the crime committed against me by that vicious woman. Look at my arm detective and the doctor's report. How can we settle this between families? Someone has to sleep in the cell for at least a week for me to be satisfied."
Grandma Tai nodded and slapped her palm on the table, causing the empty plastic cup of coffee to topple over.
"Arrest the criminal now. Look at my daughter-in-law. She has been in pain for a whole day thanks to that vicious and brutal attack. That woman was like a wild dog when she attacked. I am surprised that she has not yet bitten anyone here with her hunger for flesh."
Jing Hee stood up and pointed her right hand at the Tai's. Fury filled her entire being and she longed to launch herself at all three women and beat them up.
"Wild dog!! are you insulting me?" She looked at the detective and said through gritted teeth. "Officer, I want to sue them for insulting me. You heard it yourself right?" She looked at Alix and yelled, "It's you, right? You wench what lies have you been spouting about us in public?"
