"Croix? Are you sure you can find him?" Dekan asked.

"He should be in the dormitory, meow! He rarely goes out!" In pain, Teacher Cat struggled in Dekan's arms.

Dekan furrowed his brows. At first, he thought Croix was the name of a teacher. It turns out it's a student. Achieving tier 6 at such a young age is truly impressive. Considering that this self-proclaimed teacher cat was only tier 5.

"How do I find him?"

"Go to the male dormitory of the Mage College, meow! Fourth floor, Room four! Meow!"

"Got it."

So, guided by Teacher Cat, Dekan arrived at room 404 of the Mage College.

"Knock, knock."

Dekan knocked on the door. Even though he hadn't seen the owner of this dormitory yet, Dekan had already developed some goodwill toward him just from seeing the room number. It seems like they're fated to meet. However, Dekan couldn't help but feel puzzled. Living on the fourth floor, could he be a freshman? According to the dormitory rotation rules, before they enroll, the seniors from the previous year that graduated vacated the fourth and fifth floors. So, most of the new students this year will be living on those two floors. It's highly unlikely that Croix, at tier 6, was a new student. So, was he a third-year student who repeated a year?

Dekan stood outside the door, pondering. He heard footsteps inside. They were gradually becoming clearer. Soon, the door was opened by a young man with brown hair. He had delicate features and eyes with slightly droopy corners that gave him a gentle appearance.

"Hello... Are you Dekan?"

The brown-haired young man was first surprised when he saw Dekan, then his surprise was replaced with confusion. He must be Croix, the one Teacher Cat had mentioned.

"Croix, hurry and save me, meow!"

Without waiting for Dekan to explain, Teacher Cat immediately pounced on Croix, who was taken aback and clumsily caught it.

"...Cat Teacher, what trouble have you gotten into this time?"

"This idiot somehow poisoned me in a way that purification magic can't cure! I'm poisoned, I'm going to die, meow!"

Teacher Cat complained noisily.

Dekan coldly snorted, "You stupid cat, you sneaked into my dorm to steal food and then blame me, huh?"

If it weren't for its somewhat cute appearance, Dekan would have summoned his Ruined Poet.

"Dekan, I'm really sorry. This cat is the quirkiest teacher in our Mage College. You've been through a lot... After I cure it, you can scold it as much as you want."

Croix was about to return to his dormitory to find the "Forced Dispel" spell card but hesitated.

"By the way, Dekan, did you happen to have made the poison that poisoned Teacher Cat into a spell card?"

"Yes."

"Can I borrow it?"

Dekan didn't hesitate and handed "Alternating Poison 1.0" to Croix.

After receiving the card, Croix had no intention of searching for "Forced Dispel" anymore. He immediately used "Alternating Poison 1.0" on Teacher Cat.

"What are you doing?" Dekan was surprised by Croix's actions. But soon, his expression became one of astonishment. He saw that when Croix applied "Alternating Poison 1.0" to Teacher Cat, the cat immediately relaxed.

"Phew, saved, meow."

Teacher Cat jumped down comfortably, closed its eyes, and raised its head as if it were savoring the sweet scent of the air. It had fully regained its vitality and quickly ran into Croix's dormitory, seemingly with the intention of plundering food.

Seeing this bizarre scene, Dekan held his head in confusion. "What's going on..."

He had a feeling of faith collapsing. It would be one thing for Alternating Poison to be dispelled, but why would Alternating Poison be canceled by another Alternating Poison? What kind of game-breaking bug was this? After thinking for a while and finding no explanation, Dekan grabbed Croix's shoulder.

"How did you neutralize this poison?"

Croix seemed accustomed to Dekan's expression and explained with a wry smile, "It's because I carry the blessing of a deity—any spell damage caused by me will be converted into healing. Curse magic and poison magic, if used by me, will be transformed into their respective dispelling and detoxification effects."

"Is that so..." Dekan muttered absentmindedly. So Croix was this kind of unconventional mage.

After some thought, he asked again, "Even if the poison just now was a combination of two enhancement states, you can still eliminate it?"

"The blessing works based on the outcome."

Dekan's mood instantly darkened considerably. This bug couldn't be fixed. It was essentially a cheat.

But then he thought of something and suddenly looked up at Croix.

"If you use your ability to heal others, will they still feel pain?"

"Most of the time, yes. They have to endure the pain directly hit by the spell... So, in general, I avoid using this ability to heal my companions."

Croix seemed to recall some unpleasant memories, and his expression showed a hint of reluctance.

Dekan looked at Croix, his eyes shining more brightly. He shouted excitedly, "Croix, your ability is really amazing! It's like having an angel on our team! I want to team up with you and explore the Shadow Worlds together!"

"Huh?" Croix widened his eyes, showing a surprised expression. He seemed to be questioning whether this was a dream. He had never expected someone to invite him to explore the Shadow Worlds again, especially not someone as prominent as Dekan.

Croix: "Why..."

Dekan: "Our team just so happens to need a... healer! You are undoubtedly the best choice for us!"

If they could have Croix's assistance, no matter how Dekan and Cornelia tortured their enemies, they wouldn't kill them. Healing could bring even greater torment! It might even make the enemies endure 60 times the pain of healing while remaining conscious. Croix was undoubtedly the best candidate to become their interrogator!

"..." Croix remained silent for a long time. He seemed to smile with some helplessness, and then his expression turned bitter as he said, "I'm sorry, Dekan, I really appreciate your invitation, but I can't harm you."

"Don't worry, Cornelia and I rarely need your healing. You'll be responsible for healing those who need it."

"Sorry, I really can't agree."

"Are you already in a fixed team?"

"No."

"Then our Team Beautiful Heart is undoubtedly your best choice! When Cornelia and I reach tier 4, we can all team up."
