There's No Love In the Deathzone (BL)-Chapter 668: Side Story 3. Stellar Blossom - 3
Chapter 668: Side Story 3. Stellar Blossom - 3
Sometimes, Radia felt like they were a pair of rabbits that wanted to fuck whenever they caught sight of each other. It was like they got revenge for all those years they got separated from each other. But it was suck that his own physical limitation could not catch up with his desire.
In the end, Radia decided to distract his arousal by putting more food in his mouth. But he was definitely awake then. "After that?"
"Had my monthly check-up."
Radia perked up, slightly straightened his back.!"Oh, how was it?"
Han Joon shrugged and replied nonchalantly. "Just usual, no change in my body."
"Hmm..." Radia pushed the tray away so he could shift closer to his husband, trailing his fingers over the bare chest through the opening of the bathrobe. It felt even colder than the time they had sex--which was probably a given considering they had just taken a bath. Still...it worried him. "Is it really impossible to return your temperature?"
He wouldn’t be so concerned if it was something Han Joon was born with normally. But he had shared body warmth with Joon a lot of times before they were separated, and he knew the man was supposed to have a normal body temperature before. Han Joon had explained that it was because of the trait he received from Scatach, which allowed him to completely erase his presence, including thermal detection.
But Radia naturally wondered if it would have a negative side effect.
That being said, Han Joon didn’t look any different. Aside from being slightly paler, the man looked like a model soldier still. Even when he slouched a little bit, his posture was still sturdy. Perhaps because it was something that had been instilled in him his whole life, even if his mind became more relaxed, his body couldn’t follow.
That too, made Radia worry.
Han Joon always said he was fine, however, so doubting it would be disrespectful. Should he come with the ex-soldier during the next check-up?
Haa...he always thought about it but things always came up that made him unable to do so.
"Why?" Han Joon pinched the pondering man in the chin, and lifted Radia’s face so they could look at each other. "I thought you didn’t hate it?"
"Ugh--that’s not..."
Radia bit his lips; those deep black eyes with a little spark of stars inside them had always been his downfall. Not to mention that smile--the gate to unraveling his emotions. No matter what, that smile never failed to make him fluster.
"I know," Han Joon chuckled and rubbed the pursing lips. Truly, his darling was amazing in a lot of things, but this man had already been burdened with so many things. Han Joon didn’t want to be one of that burden if he could help it. He leaned down and whispered against the red lips. "But darling, that’s what made me as good as I am now."
"That’s not true," Radia frowned, rubbing the streak of black lightning over Joon’s left chest; the stigma he received from Scatach. "You were already good before you received this."
"But not this good," Han Joon shrugged.
Well...it was true. Han Joon was already a model student in the academy before he received his license, but he was nothing special in the face of a natural genius like Bassena. What gave him an edge was the ability he gained after climbing the tower and receiving Scatach’s stigma.
But he got all that so he could go sneaking into the military’s secret facility undetected, and there was no need for all of that now.
Radia twisted his lips. "Do you need to be this good now?"
"Hmm..." Han Joon just smiled and Radia groaned inwardly.
"Ugh--fine," Radia sighed, stroking the black streak for the last time and moving his fingers to the cold cheeks. "As long as you’re alright."
Han Joon deepened his smile and slipped his hand around the summoner’s waist. "Do I look unwell?"
"No," Radia narrowed her eyes at the sparkling eyes above him. "If anything...you look strangely good."
"That’s because I have you in my arms," Han Joon leaned closer and Radia couldn’t help but slide onto the sofa, with his husband’s weight pressing more and more on him, tilting his head so the cold lips could glide across the scar on his neck.!
"You didn’t...flirt like this with--ahh--anyone else, did you?"
"My darling," the deep black eyes were on him again, shimmering like the unseen galaxy. "In my whole life, you have always been the only one."
...oh, fine. He could drink a potion or something tomorrow morning. Radia sighed and let his husband take him again until he was asleep from delicious exhaustion.
It was always nice, however, to fall deeply asleep after being thoroughly satisfied. He didn’t wake up in the middle of the night anymore, spending many minutes to wonder about the one man he only ever truly loved.
His mind was at ease knowing that man was now in his said, cleaning him properly, putting him to sleep, embracing him in the bed. He didn’t even need an alarm in the morning anymore, because the best kind of alarm was kissing his face softly every morning until he woke up, making sure he drank a glass of water and carrying his drowsy self to the bathroom.
Joon would guide his sleepy head washing up, brushing his teeth, and even putting some skincare on him. At that point, Radia was usually fully awake at that point, but he let his husband take care of him, feeling all giddy and giggling like a teenager inside when the man clothed him.
It was a full service in the morning; a phase he had to go through in loneliness before. He didn’t care if he had early morning meetings--he would never pass being pampered by his dear husband. He had no idea how Han Joon had a better sense of clothing despite only wearing a military uniform all this time, but it also wouldn’t surprise him if Joon diligently learned all of that just to take care of him.
Truly; the man deserving all of his love.
They would have their breakfast together--also a new habit for Radia who often ate on his way somewhere. But talking about what they were going to do that day was a blissful time they would never give up. And then, it was time for them to get into their own schedule--but not before a long kiss in the garage.
Haa...sometimes, Radia had this thought about retiring right away and just living his life being together with Han Joon twenty-four hours a day. Looking at that Borderland Unit’s Captain and Zein’s friends going around the world doing dungeon hopping was honestly envy-inducing.
But he had hundreds of thousands of people’s livelihoods in his hands, so he couldn’t just do whatever he wanted.
Oh, well...at least he could go to work in a nice, loving mood. It helped a lot in making him focus on his work, increasing his efficiency. He could even face some stupidity and annoying characters with more grace than usual.
Once again, people said that Radia Mallarc turned for the better.
Pfft--just because he threatened people less. But that was alright. In truth, he did feel happier than he ever was, so there was nothing to refute.
At least, it was alright until someone casually told him they saw his husband somewhere Joon never told him about during a short luncheon with the next generation of prominent Houses’ heirs.
"Hey, I saw that ex-Captain of Mobius in Shiroin yesterday--buying a coffee in the shop I frequent before going somewhere."
Radia was stunned for a split second, and smiling at the end of that second. "Oh, did you say hello?"
The person laughed and waved their hands. "I’m not even that close with him, why would I do that?"
Not because you were scared of his cold eyes? Radia wondered with a slight smirk. That was what this person said the last time.
"You should bring him out more often, Mallarc, so people can get closer to him," the person added with a chuckle, which instantly got wiped out by Radia’s cold gaze and deep smile.
So people could gawk at him? Not a chance. Did this person really think Radia didn’t know about how some of them were involved in a swinger club?
Or...perhaps they knew, and thought he would be interested.
Pfft. How ridiculous.
But it was a waste of time to care about that kind of people. He would just use this chance to warn them about that thought, and focus on what his husband did in Shiroin instead, because nothing about that came up during their talk.
It was a long drive from Althrea, but one could reach the place easily with a portal--which was easy to track. That was what Radia checked first, and he did find a record of travel between Althrea and Shiroin two days ago from Mortix’s log.
Radia let out a relieved breath. Knowing that Han Joon, who could be as ghostly as he would, used a channel that would leave a trace meant he did not try to hide it. Actually, Radia would find out by the end of the month when he read all the company records.
Still, he asked about it when he came home that night.
"Ah--it was an alternative treatment I decided to try," the man replied nonchalantly, without hesitation. Just that already melted any suspicion Radia might still harbor.
But then he became curious about another thing; why didn’t Joon tell him about it, despite using the obvious portal?
"Alternative treatment?" he asked curiously. "What for?"
And the answer sent his heart lurching down his stomach. "Remember when you said you felt my skin became colder?"
Radia went silent for a few seconds. So it was because of him? Because he kept asking about it? Did he unconsciously make his dear husband feel insecure about it? And if that was true...that was why Han Joon didn’t mention it.
"Oh..." Radia held back his sigh, feeling disappointed in himself.
"Do you hate it?"
"I told you it’s not that," Radia raised his head apologetically, feeling relieved that Han Joon just laughed it off.
"I’m glad," Han Joon cupped the summoner’s face and kissed the bowed lips.
Radia put his arms around Joon, getting back to feeling like a teenager in love while his dear husband carried him to the bedroom again like it was a habit, before whispering an outlandish statement.
"I can’t be a trophy husband if I can’t warm my husband’s bed."
"Pfft--mmh," Radia laughed and moaned when the cool hand slipped inside his shirt. He pulled back and stroked the slightly pale cheek. "You’re...handsome enough to be one without that ability."
The beautiful brow arched teasingly. "Really?"
The groping hand stopped and Radia laughed while guiding it back to his chest and hardened nipples. "But this--haa--is even more perfect."
Ahh...truly. His self-proclaimed trophy husband was the best.
