Chapter 74: Chapter 72: A Qualitative Leap (4k)_2

Calculating up to this point, Roy couldn’t help but let a slight smile appear on his face.

But....

"Although this trade is profitable, if we want to push the family to a further level, it’s still not enough. If we could engage in mining cooperation and other partnerships...." Roy thought greedily in his heart.

The Demon Forest is a virgin land yet to be exploited, with many undiscovered veins of minerals.

If it’s just the Higlind family, even if they discover precious mineral veins, it’s absolutely impossible to mine and transport in such a dangerous place.

But, what if we include the natives? 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Roy turned his gaze to Shiji and his companions, assessing their strong physiques, and immediately made a decision.

This time, he came to participate in the trade process with the idea of opening new profit-making projects. Just the demon material trade no longer satisfies him as a high-level mage.

Mining, slavery, robbery, which one would be less lucrative than the trade of demon materials?

"Transaction completed, welcome to come again next time. Oh, and remember to bring the items we requested for trade."

Over there, Kadan and Wit settled the trade goods and were cheerfully engaging in the final conversation.

"Of course, you are the largest client of our Higlind family. Whatever you need, our family will spare no effort to procure it." Wit said with a smile, preparing to conclude the transaction when suddenly his expression slightly changed, and the tone of the conversation which was about to end suddenly resumed,

"By the way, Priest Kadan, does the Queen of Darkness wish to earn more treasures?"

"What do you mean?" Kadan raised an eyebrow, signaling Wit to clarify.

"Mining, slavery, robbery." Wit lowered his voice, saying these six words.

Upon hearing this, Kadan glanced at Wit, with a half-smile expression, about to say something when his expression slightly changed as he received a directive from his master in his mind.

"Naturally possible, who would refuse something that makes money?" Kadan nodded. Seeing Wit’s face showing joy, he suddenly turned his tone, questioning,

"But does your strength suffice?"

"Well.."

"Of course, we can handle it!"

Wit was about to say something when behind him came the confident voice of clan leader Roy.

Kadan turned his sight onto Roy walking over, instinctively sensing that this human caster was quite dangerous.

"I am Roy Higlind, the clan leader of Higlind, currently a high-level caster." Roy briefly introduced himself while intentionally releasing the pure and powerful magic power within his body to prove his words were true.

After Roy’s identity was revealed, Kadan was somewhat surprised and astonished, with a hint of a peculiar expression passing deep in his eyes.

What a coincidence, too coincidental. This way, the task just given by the master could be completed immediately.

Then, after a round of conversation, Kadan invited Roy to meet his master, the Queen of Darkness.

Roy hesitated somewhat about this, after all this was an adult Black Dragon, to face and converse with an adult Black Dragon....far too dangerous.

Kadan noticed Roy’s hesitation and coldly laughed, saying, "Looks like you’re not sincere at all, or do you think my master would care about a mere high-level caster?"

After saying this, he prepared to lead the team to leave, and when Kadan, Shiji, and others walked several dozen meters away, about to disappear into the jungle, a voice suddenly came from behind.

"Wait, I’ll go."

After a long internal struggle, Roy decided to take the risk after all.

The Higlind family can earn a lot of wealth for the Queen of Darkness, surely no evil dragon would kill such beneficial partners.

Though evil dragons are wicked, untrustworthy, greedy, and cunning, they are not stupid.

Without the Higlind family, a Black Dragon rooted in the Dark Forest looking to find another capable, daring partner would take who knows how long.

"Hmph, since you’re coming, then follow along. Oh, and the other warriors better not come along, if by any chance impolite upon seeing my master’s majestic figure, angering my master...."

Kadan turned around and calmly said.

However, without Kadan’s reminder, Roy actually wouldn’t have brought those warriors along. After all, in front of an adult Black Dragon, more of those elite warriors would not boost courage but might lead to other issues.

"Wit, you wait here with the team for a while, I’ll be right back." Roy instructed Wit.

Then, Roy rode the Black Scale Beast and followed Kadan and others, disappearing into the dense forest.

Behind him, Wit’s eyes showed a trace of worry, feeling the clan leader was quite adventurous this time.

But just thinking if this time they could directly establish a collaboration with the Queen of Darkness, the resulting benefits....thinking of a bright future, even Wit’s heart began to beat slightly faster.

.....

Deep within Black Blood Valley, along the Dragon Pool.

A Black-scaled muscular giant beast lay on the ground, lazily sunbathing.

"Such good luck." Upon hearing Kadan’s reported news in his mind, the Black-scaled Giant Beast, namely Udi, grinned.

When Wit proposed additional trading projects between the two parties, he had a flash of inspiration, thinking to seize this opportunity to have Higlind’s true decision-maker meet him and use this chance to completely control this human family.

And the result?

As a result, the clan leader came directly, leaving Udi somewhat caught off guard.

"Something offered on a platter, I must take or I’ll have bad karma." Udi murmured, and with the humans not yet arrivied, he opened a panel to glance at his own information.

[Udi: Biological Level 9; Mage Level 6] (Body length 18.24m)

[Life Force: 28.32]

[Current Banquet Level: 67] (Cooling time: twenty-eight days)

[Spell-like Abilities: Dark Magic, Low-Light Vision, Identification Skill]

[Spell Runes: Fourth Ring: Any Gate (Mastery 1%), Three-Ring Shrinking Spell (Beginner 3%), Second Ring·Water Element Enhancement Technique (Returning to the Essence), Tier Two Water Healing Technique (Mastery 5%), One-Ring Weakness Technique (Beginner 8%), One-Ring Water Blade Skill (Beginner 15%), Zero-Ring Secret Rune (Beginner 32%)]

With three years of cultivating, Udi’s strength has taken a qualitative leap.

Although his biological level hasn’t broken through to Level 10 becoming a high-level creature yet, if he encounters that advanced Bone Blood Warrior who once had him fleeing desperately, he has full confidence to kill the opponent!

Even if that Bone Blood Warrior uses that special secret technique to greatly enhance their strength. If they don’t use that large-scale power-boosting secret technique, Udi estimates he can kill them in one face-to-face encounter.

People are different, similarly, dragons are also different.

A Level 9 ordinary Black Dragon perhaps could fight on equal terms with Level 10, Level 11 Bone Blood Warriors, and specific victory or defeat would depend on detailed situations.

But Level 9 Udi can beat a Level 9 ordinary Black Dragon so badly it wouldn’t know north from south.

Even without considering mage level and spell bonus in strength, it’s still so. Udi’s dragon body relative to Black Dragons of his level is somewhat exaggerated.

A normal Level 9 Black Dragon would be about twelve meters in length. And Udi? Over eighteen meters!

Moreover, Udi’s dragon body proportionally has a shorter neck and muscles of greater size; with his slightly over eighteen meters length, visually he wouldn’t seem smaller compared to a Black Dragon with a twenty meters length.

The Banquet ability, with time passing, would further widen the size difference between Udi and ordinary giant dragons.

"My size there, might be useful if I bluff an enemy during crucial moments," Udi grinned and chuckled.

Hmm? Udi’s powerful biological field sensed unfamiliar presences approaching, and in his mind, he thought to himself that the people had finally arrived.

....

Roy, riding the Black Scale Beast, arrived deep in the Black Blood Valley, having passed through a small forest, he saw the black giant beast lying on the ground.

"Is this the Queen of Darkness?" Watching the distant Black Dragon lazily sunbathing, Roy’s mood started to tense up.

However, the appearance of this Black Dragon....why does the style seem somewhat off?
