This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist-Chapter 387: First Kill Reward – Orange Weapon
The three players and one dragon quickly found their combat rhythm. Rita not only attacked, but also occasionally used her [12-Month Interest-Free] bullets to heal Shadow.Q and Sanchez.
She wasn’t doing it just for the sake of healing them—she was aiming for the healing leaderboard!
Where there’s a leaderboard, there are rewards. Nothing here is useless.
Shadow.Q and Sanchez clearly understood this logic. Both were furious. "Don’t heal us!! We can heal ourselves!"
Rita followed behind them, shooting healing bullets at their backs. "You’re like family to me. When I see you getting hurt, I feel the pain too."
Her resource management was flawless—her left hand firing the Desert Eagle at the monster, while her right hand kept shooting healing bullets to her teammates.

The most outrageous part was when [12-Month Interest-Free] was about to start collecting its "blood debt," Rita used [Step One of Making Cotton Candy] to heal them again… after all, she wasn’t short on [Melting Time].
This drove Sanchez crazy, cursing while continuing to fight.
Sanchez skillfully dodged half of the healing bullets using her rain drop movements.
As for Shadow.Q… she used her bubble rap voice. Her mouth was constantly busy, rapping insults at Rita. It was pretty scary how she turned everything into a diss track aimed at Rita.
Sanchez even ran to a corner, laughing for five minutes before returning, while the audience fell silent. Even Hundred Heads’ skills started to miss, occasionally glancing at Shadow.Q.
Rita couldn’t help but admire, "Back when we first started fighting monsters together, you used to be shy. Now, you’re almost ready to debut."
Shadow.Q snorted coldly, lowering her voice and speaking in a bubble rap, "Except for you two, no one here knows me!"
And those two had already known about her unique skill back in the High Tower, so now she was fully letting loose.
Sanchez was so amused she nearly fell over, getting hit by Hundred Heads once, but Rita quickly healed her with two shots.
In less than half an hour, Hundred Heads’ health dropped to 51%. The crowd started booing as they realized the fight was nearly decided. They began tossing their snacks onto the arena.
But despite the audience’s lack of faith, Rita, Nivalis, and Shadow.Q/Sanchez kept their guard up. They all knew that as a boss’s health decreases, it often triggers an explosive phase. Many ultimate skills depend on HP thresholds.
Sure enough, when Hundred Heads’ health hit 50%, its hair started flying up, and from the air, its body quickly grew, morphing into various flying creatures of different races. They attacked Rita and her team, each one capable of casting multiple skills, as if they were brought to life.
The good news was, all three players and the dragon could fly.
Rita, ever observant, noticed a small glimmer on the thinning top of Hundred Heads’ head. She fired a special bullet—Fox Shadow!
Just as the bullet reached the glimmer, Rita landed on one knee, Desert Eagle in hand, aimed precisely at the light. She finally saw what it was: a tiny human head, glowing red.
This was the weak point of Hundred Heads, its only weak spot.
No wonder she hadn’t seen the red dot earlier; she had thought [You’re Too Weak (Passive)] had malfunctioned due to the level gap.
Hundred Heads began to spin violently, trying to throw Rita off, but it was too late.
Bang—one shot—[Full Payment for Life]!
With just a single shot, 22% of its health was drained.
Sanchez’s eyes lit up as she dove into the raindrops, reappearing next to Rita. She crouched down and started attacking with her strongest single-target skill, tearing into Hundred Heads with wild claws. At the same time, the raindrops in the air turned into threads under Sanchez’s control, surrounding Hundred Heads in a web that tightened with every loop.
Shadow.Q immediately took action, soaring into the air and using a binding spell on Hundred Heads.
Rita, having replenished her mana with Cotton Candy, fired another shot.
Boom—!
Hundred Heads collapsed far sooner than the multi-race audience had expected.
As Hundred Heads’ health reached zero, the four of them—Rita, Nivalis, Sanchez, and Shadow.Q—heard a voice:
[Congratulations to Blue Star players Rita, Nivalis, Sanchez, and Shadow.Q for achieving victory in The Arena of All Races. The portal to The Arena of All Races will permanently close. Each player will be rewarded with 1000 BS Honor Points.]
[Battle Rating: A! Each player will receive a Pain Chest as a reward.]
[As the first players from Blue Star to win in The Arena of All Races, Rita, Nivalis, Sanchez, and Shadow.Q’s Honor Points will be doubled. The reward chest will automatically level up, and the Pain Chest will become a Nightmare Chest.]
[Player Rita ranked first in damage, earning an additional chest.]
[Player Rita ranked first in healing, earning an additional chest.]
This was so satisfying! It was totally worth it, chasing after Sanchez and Shadow.Q with healing bullets.
In less than ten seconds, the multi-race audience began disappearing one by one. A red light curtain appeared in the middle of the arena, likely signaling the return portal. Rita was eyeing it to see if there was a countdown, when she suddenly felt a chill down her back.
She turned around to find Shadow.Q and Sanchez staring at her with resentful eyes. It was clearly because of the healing leaderboard.
Rita silently turned her back, pretending not to notice.
Opening her inventory, she found three gleaming purple chests—Nightmare Chests!
Before she could open one to see what was inside, she heard the delightful sound of gold coins clinking. She turned towards the sound and saw that Shadow.Q had already opened her chest.
Sanchez was still holding hers, looking pleased. Rita was surprised. "You opened it just like that? Didn’t even wash your hands?"
Shadow.Q responded, "Those were global announcements. My boss asked me about it."
Rita, Sanchez, and Nivalis immediately understood. They gathered around, eager to see what Shadow.Q had gotten. She reached into her chest and pulled out a staff glowing with orange light—an Epic-level staff!
Shadow.Q wasn’t stingy. She let them all look at it before taking it back.
It was almost as if this staff had been custom-made for Shadow.Q. With its level and attribute requirements, Shadow.Q could equip it immediately.
Rita eagerly opened her own chest.
The first chest: A sniper rifle more than a meter long!
It looked somewhat like the Barrett M95, but of course, it was a game weapon, so it was even more exaggerated. And it was much cooler too. Continue reading stories on novelbuddy
It was all silver, with the signature cold, deadly metallic beauty of firearms. Upon closer inspection, she saw a few flashes of orange light.
Orange Epic Weapon—[Dusk and Night]!
It didn’t require bullets. As long as she had mana, she could shoot magic sniper bullets with a range of up to 3 kilometers. The only downside was that there was a 2-second cooldown between shots.
And maybe because of her high agility, this sniper rifle had dual attribute requirements for equipping, which greatly increased its value! It was practically tailor-made for Rita.
Not only did it increase her mana cap by 20% and casting speed by 80%, but it also came with an epic skill:
[Execution]: You have 5 seconds to execute your enemy. Within the next 5 seconds after using this skill, your damage will increase by 1500%.
