This Spiritual Energy is Lethal!-Chapter 121 - Sorry, this is not a race car
Chapter 121 -121 Sorry, this is not a race car
Wild Wrench Car Repair Shop.
This is a roadside repair shop that also offers vehicle modifications. As the territory of the street racing leader Boss Tang, Chen Ke had expected to hear the roar of engines, but in fact, it was eerily quiet.
The phrase “door without a crow” might be an even more fitting description for the repair shop than simply deserted.
The facade of the repair shop was not large, featuring a small business shop and three roll-up door garages adjacent to it.
A black Mazda RX8 was parked inside one of the garages, its hood up and wheels removed, seemingly prepared by Boss Tang for modification.
Chen Ke, Lucina, and Lipo didn’t go through the main entrance of the repair shop; instead, they walked to the back door from the side. The iron door that was supposed to be tightly closed had a small gap left open.
“It seems they are a bit careless,” Lucina said with a smile, looking at the iron door.
“It looks like a trap…” Chen Ke was noncommittal.
It was now around nine in the morning, which should have been a busy time for the shop; even if there was no business, it wouldn’t be this quiet, with no one in sight.
And both the front and the back doors were not properly closed…
“You’re too paranoid, Chen Ke. They were very drunk last night and probably haven’t even woken up yet,” Lipo chuckled.
“The sound of the engines will wake them, but by the time they get dressed and come downstairs, we will have already escaped,” Lucina laughed.
Despite Chen Ke’s objections, the two women gently pulled the gap in the iron door wider and squeezed in sideways.
Chen Ke shook his head. With no other option, he followed them.
In the backyard of the repair shop, there were three modified cars parked: a black Dodge Daytona, a blue Nissan GTR-R35, and a red Toyota Supra.
Just by looking at them, it was clear that these were deeply modified monsters; regular vehicles couldn’t possibly catch up. Using them as getaway cars couldn’t be more perfect.
Now, the biggest issue was simply whether Chen Ke could handle such cars.
“Chen Ke, your key is for the GTR; Lucina, yours is for the Dodge,” Lipo said with a grin.
“Good, that way I won’t have to swap keys with you,” Lucina said, pulling out her keys with a smile.
The two women ran to unlock their car doors first. Modified race cars like these didn’t have alarm systems on the door locks, so they could be tampered with without triggering any alarms.
They skillfully used a long piece of wire to hook the lock through a gap in the window and quickly hopped into the driver’s seats.
Chen Ke lacked such skills; Lucina shook her head and had to get out to help him unlock the door.
“Hurry, start the car,” Lucina gestured, inserting a duplicate key into the keyhole on the right side of the steering wheel.
Chen Ke got into the driver’s seat and grasped the steering wheel. The moment he did, it felt like some instincts returned to him; he shifted the manual gear confidently.
The three exchanged glances through the car windows and then simultaneously started their engines.
“Vroom vroom vroom…”
Lucina was the first to zoom out, followed closely by Lipo. Chen Ke stepped on the gas, turned the steering wheel, and drove out as well.
Everything went very smoothly, almost too smoothly.
“You see, so simple. As long as we plan carefully, we can pull it off,” Lucina called.
“I don’t see it that way, Lucina, it’s too simple, and that’s somehow unreasonable,” Chen Ke shook his head.
He sat in the car, feeling great; the vibration and engine noise thrilled him. There was a tachometer next to the speedometer, and Chen Ke felt an urge to test the car’s abilities.
Beneath the handbrake, Chen Ke also spotted a knob, and without a second thought, he knew it was the nitrous oxide boost switch…
In video games, pressing the nitrous button would make the car surge forward as if it had rockets, but reality was different—though there would certainly be a similar boost, it wasn’t as exaggerated.
And he had to watch the engine temperature, or it could easily blow up…
As the three cars raced along the lengthy coastline, as they passed an intersection, suddenly three fast cars emerged from the crossroad.
“Lucina, we’ve been bit,” Chen Ke, at the rear of the convoy, looked into the rearview mirror and spoke into the phone.
The trailing three cars were also modified, with exaggerated spoilers and heart-thumping engine roars.
Leading them was a purple muscle car, followed by two modified Nissans.
“Street racers, they might think we’re Boss Tang…” Lipo joined the conference call.
“Let’s see if they can keep up, but be careful not to scratch the cars,” Lucina said, full of spirit.
“I knew it wouldn’t be easy!” Chen Ke complained.
The trio decided to split up to lose these racers quickly. Chen Ke floored the accelerator, pinning himself back against the seat, and swiftly the speed reached 180…

It was his first time driving a car this fast; the scenery flew past him as if he had activated a four-speed gear shift, lucky that there were few cars on the road this morning, or Chen Ke couldn’t guarantee not having an accident.
Even at such speeds, the three cars behind him were still uncomfortably close; they too had chosen their targets: the muscle car chasing Lucina, a vehicle resembling a heavily modified Porsche chasing Lipo, and an unrecognizable model pursuing Chen Ke.
“Let’s have a duel then!” Chen Ke pulled the handbrake, spotting a turnoff, and let the car drift.
He didn’t know why he could drift, it seemed Lin Mo must have also been a driver in the assassin team…
“Chen Ke, let’s split up and meet in the Walmart parking lot in the Gun Tie District after shaking them off. You know the way, right?” Lucina’s voice came through the phone.
“No problem,” Chen Ke acknowledged.
Lipo didn’t know why they stole these three cars, and certainly wouldn’t let on the secret of the armory to her, so Lucina picked a stop not too far from the armory.
After hanging up, Chen Ke glanced in the rearview mirror, formulating a plan.
In the brief driving experience just then, Chen Ke had figured out exactly what Lin Mo’s driving skills were meant for.
All the driving habits Chen Ke had inherited were aimed at how to quickly shake off pursuers, how to flip the opponent’s car without flipping his own.
These driving techniques were highly utilitarian, not about who was faster, but whose car could last till the end.
He knew precisely where the car’s strongest points were, where it could withstand bullets, and was also very clear about the weight distribution in most cars.
Chen Ke possessed all the driving techniques needed for attacking and defending with a vehicle.
He glanced in the rearview mirror, and his mind swarmed with countless methods to flip the opponent’s car.
“If you get into an accident later, don’t blame me… I’m not a racecar driver, you know.” Chen Ke’s lips curved up slightly as he aligned his car’s right rear with the opponent’s left front.
Then he suddenly pressed the brake.
