This Young Master Has Infinite Comprehension-Chapter 47: Auction Main Session
Hearing that immediately put the female staff member from the Hong Clan Auction House on alert.
She had no idea who the man in the room really was, but she could already tell his identity was anything but ordinary.
Every item from the first and second auction sessions had been successfully sold.
Yun Yun spoke up and informed everyone that today’s auction at the Hong Clan Auction House was finally reaching the core session.
"Our event has now arrived at the main attraction, the auction of today’s three primary items," Yun Yun said excitedly.
The participants on the lower floor burst into applause. Even though the main event had arrived, only a few of them were willing to join the bidding against the monsters in the VIP rooms.
To them, the true highlight of the auction was the clash between monsters from various clans and sects.
If they joined in, they feared it might bring disaster upon themselves.
"To begin our main event, I will now present the first item of the core auction session."
Yun Yun turned around, opened the box, and revealed the Thousand Azure Lightning Technique scroll. Everyone stared at the item in silence.
"We have agreed to open the bidding at 50,000 spirit stones for this technique scroll."
Wang Gu sat in silence, his cold gaze fixed ahead as he listened to the calls coming from the other VIP rooms, where bids quickly climbed higher, 80,000, then 100,000 spirit stones.
A fierce bidding war erupted among the VIP guests. Shouts and curses echoed through the hall, creating a thrilling spectacle for the other cultivators to watch.
The female staff member glanced behind her. The man, cold as ice, remained unmoved, calmly sipping tea from his cup.
Yun Yun summarized the bids until the value of the technique scroll reached 200,000 spirit stones. Wang Gu listened quietly. That price was fitting for the quality of the technique.
"Does anyone wish to offer a higher bid?" Yun Yun asked.
"I will begin the countdown from five."
She counted down while keeping her head raised, looking one by one at the representatives standing on the balconies of the VIP rooms.
When the countdown ended, Yun Yun closed the bidding for the item with the loud sound of a gong.
"Congratulations to Elder Tian Shi Sect for successfully obtaining the Thousand Azure Lightning Technique scroll."
She put the item away and switched to the second item of the main auction session. The box opened, and a formation scroll floated above Yun Yun’s palm.
"The second item in this auction is the Blazing Sun Spirit Array scroll. We are setting the opening price at 100,000 spirit stones," Yun Yun explained.
Wang Gu raised his cup, finished the green tea, and instructed the woman in front of him to begin bidding.
Before she could speak, someone from another VIP room loudly shouted their bid.
"150,000 spirit stones."
"The Jun Clan offers 200,000 spirit stones."
Wang Gu narrowed his eyes sharply. "Set the bid at 250,000."
The female staff member nodded and relayed Wang Gu’s offer to Yun Yun. All the VIP guests were startled, then began discussing how much they should bid next.
"VIP Room Seven offers 250,000 spirit stones. Any other bids?" Yun Yun asked.
"Dong Yang Sect offers 300,000 spirit stones!" one man declared firmly.
Wang Gu stared forward. Dong Yang Sect, not even a major sect, dared to compete with him in price. Clearly, they did not know their place.
He called the female staff member over again and gave a much higher bid, one that left her visibly shocked.
"Are you sure, Senior Daoist?"
"Just do it!"
The woman cleared her throat, returned to the VIP balcony, and looked toward Yun Yun.
"VIP Room Seven offers 500,000 spirit stones!"
"500,000 spirit stones? That’s insane."
"Who exactly is that monster? Is he the young master of some great sect or clan?"
"His identity is mysterious. Even my soul sense can’t peek into that room."
Yun Yun was briefly stunned and fell silent for a moment after hearing the bid Wang Gu had submitted. However, she quickly regained her professionalism and announced it.
"VIP Room Seven offers 500,000 spirit stones. Does anyone wish to bid higher?" Yun Yun asked.
The other sects and clans gasped, unsure how to respond. 500,000 spirit stones was clearly no simple amount. It was an enormous sum and completely disproportionate to the item itself.
No one bid again, and Yun Yun began the countdown until it finished. Wang Gu successfully obtained the item.
"Congratulations to VIP Room Seven for obtaining the Blazing Sun Spirit Array scroll."
She stored the item again and moved on to the next one, the final item of the main auction session. The long wooden box opened, and Yun Yun held the rusty sword in her hand.
"We cannot determine its value since the sword’s quality is unknown. Therefore, we have agreed to start this item at 0," Yun Yun said.
The auction for the sword had begun, and the price was extremely cheap. Yet not a single cultivator was willing to place a bid.
They saw nothing promising about the sword. Its appearance alone was unconvincing, let alone its actual ability.
Yun Yun looked awkward when no cultivator was willing to bid for the sword.
"Does no one want this sword?"
Wang Gu called the female staff member over and asked her to place a bid. Since there were no competitors, he offered a low price for the sword.
"VIP Room Seven offers 50,000 spirit stones."
A wide smile bloomed on Yun Yun’s face.
"VIP Room Seven offers 50,000 spirit stones. Any other bidders?"
The other cultivators remained silent. No one wanted to spend money just to buy a rusty sword.
Since Wang Gu was the only bidder, Yun Yun announced that he had won the item.
"Congratulations to VIP Room Seven for obtaining this sword."
"The auction session has now ended. We thank every cultivator and VIP guest who came to visit."
"Regular cultivators may collect your items at the auction administration room. VIP guests, our staff will bring your items directly to you."
Wang Gu felt relieved. He had successfully obtained the formation scroll and the sword. The sword only needed to be refined inside the cauldron for its quality to return to its original state.
The female staff member approached Wang Gu.
"My duty ends here. Thank you for trusting me."
The man nodded, still enjoying the tea on the wooden table beside him. Not long after, there was a knock at the door, and Wang Gu walked over to open it.
One of the female staff members arrived carrying Wang Gu’s three boxes, containing the map fragment, the Blazing Sun Spirit Array scroll, and the sword.
Wang Gu tapped his bag of holding, storing the three items away before taking out a black pouch filled with spirit stones.
The woman accepted the pouch, counted it, and confirmed that the amount was exact.
"The amount is correct. Thank you for participating in our auction."
Wang Gu did not respond. Remaining cold, he stepped out of the auction house. Now that he had obtained the items he wanted, it was time for him to study them all.
He left Hongsu City and flew away in another direction. However, while traveling, he was suddenly startled when three people blocked his path in the sky. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
They flew in red robes, two elders and one young sect master. Wang Gu recognized one of the elders from the earlier auction.
"You... Dong Yang Sect?" Wang Gu asked.
"You interfered in our affairs. Hand over the Blazing Sun Spirit Array scroll, and we’ll let you live!"
