This Young Master is not Cannon Fodder-Chapter 579: Nahui Ollin System
Thanks to Tenochtitlan offering the Nahui Ollin System as the hunting ground, the subsequent talks became much smoother.
Not all systems had demigods or immortals, so this lack of intermediate combat powers became their weak point. As such, they stood at a natural disadvantage against systems with demigods and immortals. So, these systems strongly demanded a limit on the number of participants. The prime advocate came from the two divinities of the Ma’at System.
The Ma’at System was formerly led by the Sun God King Ra, but with his fall, the current God King was Horus. Bastet and Wepwawet wanted to reduce the number of participants to limit the points of other systems, but the other systems who followed their lead wanted more benefits.
Smaller and weaker systems could not compare to larger systems like the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System in high end and intermediate combat potential. This competition not only determined the alliance leader candidate, but was like a small preview for the benefit distribution. Even if a system did not produce an alliance leader, they would still gain more benefits depending on their placement.
Tenochtitlan argued against this. The more people hunting the devils in the Nahui Ollin System, the happier he and Tlaloc would be. Many systems supported him, not out of the goodness of their hearts, but because they had an advantage in intermediate combat powers.
Every system was different. Some had a larger number of divinities, but deficiencies in low or intermediate combat powers. Some had nearly an infinite number of low end combat powers, but lacked intermediate or high-end combat powers. Few systems had a perfect balance between all three.
This led to another round of wrangling. It didn’t matter much to the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System. As long as Tianyi was present and they did not restrict each system from exchanging their fighters, numbers meant little to them in the hunting format.
It was not without cost. Because of the overwhelming advantage Tianyi brought, all the other systems forced the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System to give up their chance to select an alliance leader candidate. Yes, the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System. The unrelated Numinous Sword Sect and Buddhist Pure Lands were implicated by Tianyi.
The two forces naturally protested, but it was all for naught. It could also be considered a small concession from the Pantheon Alliance for the Immortal Court. However, their chances of defeating the Immortal Court were already small, so the concession barely cost the Pantheon Alliance any effort.
It was already foreseeable that the Immortal Court’s advantage would only become more overwhelming in the future. The Numinous Sword Sect’s only chance to defeat the Immortal Court was to attack now while the Concealed Emperor was gone, but they also knew it was a slim chance. If they did, the Concealed Emperor would most likely appear in the Three Thousand Immortal Realms thanks to Tianyi’s cross-universe teleportation.
There were many more concessions, but the major pantheons didn’t think it was too much trouble. The most important part was the concessions were made because of Tianyi. As long as they could lure him to their side, wouldn’t it mean that they would gain the benefits? Even if the Immortal Court became furious, it would not matter much.
Soon, an appropriate number was agreed upon by all the pantheons. It wasn’t the most ideal number by any means, but it was the most acceptable one to all the pantheons.
The All Pantheon Conference ended not long after.
Each delegation returned to their assigned abodes, discussing and preparing for the future. Of course, some contacted other delegations to form an alliance, or even to become vassals. One of the most popular choices was the Immortal Court, since Tianyi had his cross-universe teleportation ability. Only the Immortal Court could send reinforcements at the swiftest time.
Of course, becoming a vassal was the last choice for many delegations. Even if they didn’t have a true divinity and their system couldn’t support one, they didn’t want to become inferiors.
People coming to form alliances weren’t the only troubles the Immortal Court delegation had to endure. Well, more specifically, Tianyi. It would not be an understatement to say Tianyi alone was more popular than any one pantheon. They also wanted to form an alliance with him—specifically of the marital kind.
“How is it, have you chosen any lucky women?”
Tianyi glared at Minister Vastlight. “Since you like them so much, I’ll give them to you and you can take them back.”
Minister Vastlight swiftly shook his hands and head. “No, no. I don’t have the fortune to enjoy such blessings.”
At first, Tianyi met with the envoys and hosted them. Sometimes privately, sometimes publically, but the number was too much. They didn’t only come once but several times. It was as if they would not stop visiting unless Tianyi agreed to selecting a second wife or concubine, so he had started avoiding them as much as possible, citing any and all possible excuses, no matter how ridiculous.
Of course, not all delegations were so hasty. Many played the long game. And there were some people he could not avoid meeting.
“Alright, it’s time,” Minister Vastlight said. “Don’t keep Lord Tenochtitlan waiting.”

Tianyi sighed. Although he could reject most envoys, he could not hide from divinities. Of course, many divinities would not lower their own status to meet him. Instead, they sent invitations to visit them in their temporary abode or their home systems, but Tianyi rejected them all.
“It seems that you have been quite busy recently, Little Friend,” Tenochtitlan said. He casually leaned back and sipped the beverage in front of him. After one sip, he put it back on the table. Compared to the bitter cocoa brew, he didn’t quite like the taste of tea.
Tianyi could only awkwardly laugh. He did not forget that it was he who first brought up the matter of marriage. Still, he could only go along with the pleasantries. They didn’t last long.
“Actually, I’ve come here to sincerely invite you to the Nahui Ollin System.”
Although the number of participants and location of the trial was decided, it did not mean that everyone would travel to the Nahui Ollin System immediately. Most of the delegation only brought the bare minimum, so they still needed to return and resupply before going to the Nahui Ollin System. So, the time limit of fifteen thousand years was given for all parties to prepare.
Tenochtitlan felt like fifteen thousand years was too long, and he wanted to expedite the process. At least he had to invite Tianyi over.
Although all the pantheons coveted Tianyi’s ability, they only knew about his ability from hearsay except for the Herakles System. The enthusiasm all the delegations showed was just an investment. Even if they really sent women to Tianyi, they were not irreplaceable. No divinity or pantheon was stupid. Despite all the praise they heaped onto the wife candidates, none of those people were divine seeds.
“It’s not impossible,” Tianyi started. “I’m also quite interested in the Nahui Ollin System.”
He was quite surprised at Tenochtitlan’s invitation. Although his ability was useful, it also represented great risks. As long as Tianyi was present, the force he supported could immediately deploy a large amount of troops to attack and retreat at will. This was the reason why none of the other delegations invited Tianyi, even though they had not verified his abilities.
Aside from Tenochtitlan, the Herakles System also gave Tianyi a permanent residence in the Three Thousand Immortal Realms Embassy. Although it was named after the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System, occupancy was not extended to the Buddhist Pure Lands or the Numinous Sword Sect. Another concession the Herakles System gave to the Immortal Court.
Tianyi reported the matter to the Concealed Emperor and was granted permission. So, when the day of departure arrived, three Tianyis appeared. One stayed in the Three Thousand Immortal Realms Embassy with two thousand immortals. One left with Tenochtitlan, accompanied by one thousand immortals. The last Tianyi returned to the Jade Void Palace with Minister Vastlight, and the remaining immortals returned to the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System.
Tianyi stared at the Nahui Ollin System’s vessel in wonder. Unlike the palatial complex or vehicles of other systems, the Nahu Ollin System’s ‘ship’ was a giant skeleton with a platform attached on its back.
In terms of appearance, it was a giant skeleton of serpentine origin measured in kilometers. The only thing that differentiated from a normal snake were the wing bones sprouting from its back. From its wing bones, countless feathers of seven different colors sprouted, a complete contrast to the skeletal state of the rest of the body. Despite its dead state, it still radiated an oppressive and fiery aura, like that of a divinity. Most of the pressure came from the wings, which released a rainbow aurora as it flew through the True Nothingness.
“How is it, isn’t it amazing?” Tenochtitlan asked.
Tianyi nodded. “Did you use the body of a divine beast to create it?”
“Divine beast? You can say that,” Tenochtitlan said. “It was before I was born. Back then, the Nahui Ollin System had four different names, each one correlating to a great age. It is currently the fifth great age. Four gods reigned at the top of each age: Quetzalcoatl, Tezcatlipoca, Huitzilopochtli, and Xipe Totec. This vessel was created from the remains of God King Quetzalcoatl.”
“This is the remains of Quetzalcoatl?” Tianyi asked, looking at the surrounding bones. Of course he had heard of Quetzalcoatl, including how he fell from godhood. He was curious about the origin of the myth, so he asked Tenochtitlan.
Tenochtitlan didn’t hide anything. Although it could be considered a dark history, he didn’t feel anything about it because it was before his time. So, time passed and the Nahui Ollin System’s delegation returned with their guests.
As a powerful system, the Nahui Ollin System had many different climates and habitats, but even from outside, Tianyi could see the decay. Nearly forty percent of the entire land was eroded by darkness.
‘No wonder the Nahui Ollin System was so willing to give up the chance to become a candidate for the alliance leader,’ Tianyi thought.
If it was an absolute certainty, the Nahui Ollin System would be willing to risk it to become the alliance leader, but just a candidate? Impossible. Rather than risking it, it was better to give up candidacy to purge the devil in their opinion.
“We’ve arrived. Welcome to the capital, Tenochtitlan,” Tenochtitlan said once the rainbow serpent vessel flew in the center of the Nahui Ollin System. The capital of it was in a large clearing located in the middle of the jungle.
“Tenochtitlan?” Tianyi repeated.
“Do you find it strange that I share the same name as a city?” Tenochtitlan asked.
Tianyi nodded.
“Actually, I’m the second divinity to bear this name. After I was born, the previous Tenochtitlan christened herself God Queen Tlaloc to differentiate herself.”
Tianyi looked at him in shock.
“Surprised?” the divinity didn’t wait for Tianyi's reply. “It’s no big secret. The previous divinities of the Nahui Ollin System all perished in the Godsfall War. But not all their believers died, their faith continued. As the last bastion of the gods, Tenochtitlan became the recipient of the mortal’s prayers. Over the long years, their prayers bore fruit and a new guardian god was born.”
Tianyi didn’t know what to say. He felt it was absurd that a divinity could be born this way. In the Three Thousand Immortal Realms, even if all the mortals prayed to an idol, that idol would not come to life, much less become a divinity. He just chalked it to the differences between systems.
“Once the third Tenochtitlan is born, I’ll choose a new name too.” Tenochtitlan continued to explain the society of the Nahui Ollin System, but once they neared, Tenochtitlan became quiet.
The streets of the city were filled with people, like it was some sort of festival. These people knelt in front of an altar. A person lay atop the altar with a priest presiding over the ceremony. The priest raised a dagger in the air and brought it down, slicing a hole in the person’s body. The person didn’t utter a sound, even as the priest ripped his flesh open and pulled out his heart.
