Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared-Chapter 557: Fidgeting
Chapter 557: Chapter 557: Fidgeting
On the third day after Qiao Ya and his group boarded the ship, everyone got along well. They shared meals, jokes, and laughs, showing the potential of becoming good friends.
However, Gu Fan noticed a hint of malicious intent in the way Qiao Ya and his group looked at them. He wasn’t the only one; Su Hui also noticed it. Having worked on many cases, she was familiar with the look of a criminal.
Occasionally, Dong Ni would talk to Qin Jia, cracking jokes to make her laugh. It seemed like he was interested in her.
Seeing Dong Ni being so enthusiastic towards Qin Jia made Du Jun, Qin Jia’s official boyfriend, a bit upset. Naturally, Qin Jia also knew it wasn’t good, so she deliberately avoided interaction with Dong Ni afterwards.
After the meal, with nothing else to do, everyone returned to their rooms. Some read books, others studied maps, and others made plans.
Despite his continuous study of the map, Gu Fan still couldn’t wrap his head around it. The photocopied map didn’t have any indicators. Out of three thousand plus islands, which was the right one?
Just when Gu Fan was on the brink of frustration, feeling an urge to slam his head against the wall, he forcefully composed himself, reminding himself to stay calm.
At a loss, Gu Fan decided to step outside and let the sea breeze clear his head.
As he stepped out of the cabin and felt the sea breeze, he instantly felt much better. It was as if the wind blew away all his worries. Gu Fan closed his eyes, immersing himself in the feeling.
Suddenly, Gu Fan heard a sound from around a corner. Curiously, he went to check it out and saw Qiao Ya and Dong Ni talking. Both looked and sounded unhappy, as if they were arguing.
Gu Fan could understand their language somewhat. Qiao Ya seemed to be telling Dong Ni not to stir up trouble, but Dong Ni insisted he knew what he was doing and didn’t need Qiao Ya’s reminders.
As the argument went on, both men became increasingly angry. Dong Ni attempted to walk away, but Qiao Ya grabbed him, apparently insisting on having his way. This made Dong Ni angry, leading him to push Qiao Ya away.
Qiao Ya, indignant, charged at Dong Ni with a punch. Dong Ni readied his defense, and after a few exchanges, they quickly broke off.
"Oh my!" Gu Fan was dumbfounded. They were clearly well-trained fighters, possibly even better than him.
Finally, after a big row, Qiao Ya and Dong Ni parted ways. Meanwhile, Gu Fan decided to act as though he hadn’t seen anything and continued to enjoy the sea breeze by the railing.
Soon after, Dong Ni returned to the cabin. He ran into Qin Jia, who was feeling a little hungry and had gone to the kitchen for a snack. With a slight smile, Dong Ni followed her and greeted her genially, "Hello, beauty. Eating so late could lead to weight gain."
"I can’t help it, I’m hungry," Qin Jia replied. She had recently been on a diet and hadn’t had much for dinner. As a result, she was now so hungry that her stomach was grumbling, prompting her to break down and search the kitchen for something to eat.
Qin Jia tried to open an overhead cabinet but couldn’t reach it because of her height.
Dong Ni immediately stepped in to help. He offered to open the cabinet for Qin Jia. Qin Jia felt something off as Dong Ni used this opportunity to close in on her, even making physical contact.
The smell of alcohol made Qin Jia uncomfortable, prompting her to take a step to the side. The message was clear, but Dong Ni, seemingly oblivious, smiled and handed a can to Qin Jia, attempting to touch her face in the process.
"What are you doing?" Qin Jia resisted, trying to leave, but was blocked by Dong Ni. "Sorry if I offended you," he said. "I just wanted to make friends with you...
"I’m sorry, but I’m not in the mood to make friends with you," Qin Jia said, repulsed by Dong Ni’s advances. She wanted to leave but was stopped by Dong Ni. This angered Qin Jia, who shouted, "What are you doing! Let me go."
But Dong Ni didn’t appear willing to let go. Unluckily for him, Du Jun was passing by and heard Qin Jia’s shout. He rushed over to see Dong Ni bothering his girlfriend, and he was instantly furious.
Du Jun lunged at Dong Ni, intending to hit him, but Dong Ni deflected his attack with one hand and grabbed Du Jun’s neck with the other. Using his superior strength, Dong Ni slammed Du Jun onto a table.
"You bastard!" Du Jun struggled, but he was no match for Dong Ni’s strength. Plus, the strong smell of alcohol made Du Jun feel even more uneasy.
"Stop!" Gu Fan, who had also heard the commotion, rushed over. Seeing someone bullying his friend, he immediately joined the fight.
Dong Ni underestimated Gu Fan, thinking he was just as weak as Du Jun. But when he saw Gu Fan throwing a well-executed combination punch, he was taken aback.
Dong Ni knew he had met his match. He hurriedly tried to defend himself, but it was too late to dodge. He managed to get a punch on his face, which further infuriated him. He growled and retaliated with a fast punch.
Although Gu Fan managed to dodge, Dong Ni was too fast with his second attack. He took a step forward and delivered a knee strike, causing Gu Fan to falter.
Dong Ni and Gu Fan then exchanged a few hits with no obvious winner, surprising each other with their skills. However, their fighting attracted the attention of others.
Qiao Ya and Su Lei were the first to arrive, a bit faster than Gu Fan would have hoped.
When Qiao Ya arrived at the scene and saw what was happening, he flew into a rage. He slapped Dong Ni and loudly demanded, "What the hell have you done, you bastard?"
Dong Ni was taken aback by the slap, then enraged. He counterattacked, throwing punch after punch at Qiao Ya. In return, Qiao Ya fought back fiercely.
By this point, the captain, crew, Su Hui, Lin Xi, and many others had also arrived. Seeing Qiao Ya and Dong Ni in a fight, they were confused about what had happened.
After hearing Qin Jia’s account of what had transpired, everyone was furious at Dong Ni. They had kindly saved him, but he had repaid them by causing trouble.
A minute later, Dong Ni, overpowered by Qiao Ya, was pushed to the ground. Qiao Ya asked for strings to bind him, effectively neutralizing him.
Qiao Ya then repeatedly apologized, explaining that Dong Ni was like that when he drank too much and liked to do bold and reckless things. He was sorry for the trouble he had caused them.
Despite Dong Ni’s behavior, Qiao Ya’s actions were appreciated by everyone.
Just when they were wondering what to do with Dong Ni, he, having drunk too much, fell asleep on the floor, as if nothing had happened. It was a sight that was both laughable and pathetic.
