Thousands of Brilliant Stars: You Deserve the Best!-Chapter 233: Jonas Kingsley Comes Calling, Turning Everything Upside Down!
Hannah Lennox didn’t expect Iris Crawford and Lachlan Wyatt to be so unabashed in front of her, especially Iris, who seemed not at all afraid of her presence.
Nowadays, it seemed every woman had come to terms with things, too lazy to contend with some pretentious women.
Iris gave Hannah a light glance and then left the house with Lachlan, leaving Hannah alone in the living room. She watched as the last one, Number Nine, locked the door behind him, still somewhat shaken, and didn’t relax until the sound of the Porsche’s engine faded into the distance.
The next moment, Hannah collapsed onto the sofa.
Every time she saw Number Nine’s face, she felt terrified.
So wasn’t Lachlan afraid? What was he thinking when he created Number Nine?
Hannah lay on the sofa emptying her mind. Sometimes she envied Iris—envied her decisiveness, boldness in love and hate—whereas now she felt...
Like an empty shell, with no real reason to continue living.
She raised her hand above her head, then clasped it back, grasping nothing but cold air.
Even if it meant becoming a sinner, she wanted to leave something behind. Her life was already so muddy; she had no choice but to go down this dark path.
Hannah dazed off in Iris’s living room for an hour. After an hour, the sound of a car came from outside.
However, this car was not the Porsche that Iris and Lachlan had driven out earlier.
Startled, Hannah sat up from the sofa, incredulous as she watched the door’s security code being cracked open from the outside. A tall, formidable man walked in, his features both handsome and ominous, as he looked at Hannah standing inside. "You seem to be fitting in quite smoothly among them, don’t you?"
"The Third Young Master..."
Hannah couldn’t believe Jonas Kingsley would be so bold, entering Iris and Lachlan’s home so brazenly while they were out!
She immediately stepped forward to ask, "Third Young Master, why have you...come?"
"Why couldn’t I come?"
Jonas nonchalantly sat down on the sofa where Hannah had previously lain, imagining the scene where Iris might have sat there before, then ran his hand over the expensive leather, saying, "Is there anywhere in this world I can’t go?"
Hannah naturally didn’t dare to answer back.
"Yet, I must say I’m surprised you could blend in; I thought a woman like Iris, who can’t even tolerate a speck of dust in her eyes, wouldn’t allow Lachlan to keep you around..."
He gestured for Hannah to come closer, and she approached. "Have you found anything in the house while searching around?"
"For now, I’ve only found these in the study..." Hearing Hannah say this, Jonas asked, "Where’s Iris’s bedroom?"
Hannah pointed to the room upstairs, "The largest one."
"Alright."
Jonas walked in openly, swaggering right into Iris’s room. He seemed certain that Iris and Lachlan wouldn’t come back at this time, so he was completely at ease. When he saw the stuffed animals arranged on Iris’s bed, he let out a derisive laugh, "Still keeping stuffed animals on your bed at this age."
Hannah followed but stayed silent, choosing not to enter Iris’s bedroom, waiting instead by the door for Jonas.
Jonas searched alone in Iris’s room, opening and closing drawers, pulling open her wardrobe doors, scattering Iris’s clothes and lingerie everywhere. In the end, he gripped Iris’s lingerie in his hand and simply lay down on Iris’s bed.
Closing his eyes, as if lying in Iris’s body.
Jonas laughed.
"I really want to touch you, Iris."
