"Can you get me my laptop?" I asked softly.

"Sure." Anita agreed with a smile and went to the table to fetch my laptop.

This time, I was determined to practice what I had learned theoretically and make the Night claw pack regret.

I began going through the web, learning more about computer science and came across a hidden website.

I clicked a link by accident and it brought me to a site that required me to answer some complicated questions.

Out of curiosity, I answered the questions and to my surprise, I got access.

The interface was similar to a social media site where people could post information on the feed. It also had an internal messenger button where individuals or groups could chat privately.

A message appeared in my messenger as soon as I got access.

I clicked on it and found that a link and access code had been sent to me, telling me that the next time I needed to access the server, I could click the link and use the code as password. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

After browsing through the feed, only then did I realize that I had entered a dark web made by hackers.

There were posts sharing about the achievements people had made and also jobs of those who wanted to find someone to hack a target.

Without much thought, I knew that I had found the perfect way to make money.

But before taking any jobs that paid, I had to learn more about hacking.

So, I combed through the posts on the feed. Some included educational information about hacking from basic to advanced.

I spent the next few hours learning, until someone rudely pushed my hospital room door open.

I thought it was the doctor doing rounds, but when I heard the clicking of high heels, I knew I was wrong.

Moreover, with the sound of the heels, I could already tell who it was.

This has become my habit to help me survive. Identifying people by their footsteps was a basic skill for me.

I wondered what Innocent was doing in my room now.

I immediately copied the link and code I was given on the dark web and created a hidden encrypted folder on the computer before copying them there.

As Innocent got to the side of my bed, I exited the site and opened the regular social media used by everyone.

When she saw the screen, she thought I was just watching some fun videos.

"Who gave you the laptop?" She asked with venom practically dripping from her voice.

I closed the laptop and raised my head to look at her.

This time, I did cower. I realized after the last beating that Innocent would no longer ignore me just because I kept my head down and reduced my presence.

I looked straight into her eyes and answered, "Karl gave it to me."

With the mention of Karl, I saw Innocent practically shiver and a look of terror flashed in her eyes before it disappeared.

If I hadn’t been looking straight into her eyes, I would have missed it. But I realized that something must have happened between her and Karl when I saw her reaction I immediately knew that I had a new protective amulet against Innocent.

Even though I didn’t know what had happened, I knew for sure that Innocent was very afraid of Karl.

Innocent POV

I was angry after Mike stopped midway having sex with me. He held his chest as if in pain and kept calling that slut’s name.

I can’t understand why he was so obsessed with her recently. When we have sex, he would call her name. I don’t know how she had managed to seduce him with that body of hers that looks like a matchstick.

She isn’t as beautiful as me. Not as endowed with curves like me, and didn’t even know how to please a man. So, what gave her the right to interfere with Mike and I?

I had been angry before because Mike had been showing too much concern for her. I got carried away and beat her to an inch of her life on that hospital bed.

I hadn’t expected her life to be so tough and she survived. What made matters worse was Mike reprimanding me and telling me I shouldn’t have hurt her like that.

Who was she to have Mike, my future mate and husband speak up for her? She must have a death wish.

Since I wasn’t able to kill her with that beating, then I will find another way.

Even if she leaves that hospital, I will make sure she suffers more than before. I will make her life a living hell.

I was still planning about my next step when someone kicked my door open and walked inside.

I turned around and found Karl standing there, watching me like a corpse.

I felt a chill run down my spine. I have known Karl for three years since he was always with Mike, but I have never seen him looking like he would go on a killing spree the next second.

"Ka...Karl...what brings you here?" I forced a smile, but it was crumbling faster than I could master one.

It felt as if his alpha wolf wanted to tear me apart and my wolf was already whimpering in fear.

"Why did you hurt Valerie so much?" Karl asked softly.

If I didn’t feel the killing intent in his voice, I would have mistaken it for someone talking to their lover with how soft it was.

The impact made me tremble in fear.

"I...I... I didn’t do anything." I was not going to admit to beating up Valerie now seeing how Karl was behaving.

"You think if you don’t admit it I won’t do anything to you?" Karl asked softly again, but this time, there was some pressure from his alpha wolf.

Without much resistance, I fell to my knees with a loud thud.

At this moment, I realized I was in trouble. I knew that if I kept denying it, I would be in even more trouble.
