Oliver Hudson furrowed his brow and immediately began to explain:

"Annie has been on set these past few days, probably busy filming, which is why she hasn’t answered your calls."

But Oliver Hudson’s words only made Charlotte raise her chin in confusion.

"But didn’t you just say you went to the villa to find Annie yesterday?"

Charlotte’s retort made Oliver Hudson pause, opening his mouth yet unable to utter a word.

It was the first time Charlotte had seen such an embarrassed expression on Oliver Hudson’s face.

"What’s really going on with Mommy?"

Seeing the hesitant look on Oliver Hudson’s face, Olivia immediately grew worried and quickly shook his arm.

"Don’t worry, Annie, Mommy is fine."

Oliver Hudson quickly comforted Olivia, "It’s just that... I haven’t seen her since I was discharged from the hospital."

"You guys..." Charlotte squinted slightly, still confused. After a moment of hesitation, she chose to ask.

"Oliver Hudson, what exactly happened between you and Annie, and what are your plans for the future?"

Suddenly, Charlotte felt that something seemed different about the Oliver Hudson standing before her.

Oliver Hudson glanced at Olivia, clearly unwilling to answer the question in front of others.

He cast his gaze out the window and then said:

"I’ll take you back first. Besides, until Justin Battleson’s issue is resolved, I think it’s best if you don’t appear in public."

There was no need for Oliver Hudson to emphasize the point; Charlotte had already learned her lesson from earlier.

As she turned her head, Charlotte noticed Olivia’s worried expression and immediately guessed what she was concerned about. She reached out to pull Olivia into her embrace, patting her arm.

"It’s okay, Mommy will help you contact your Mommy Annie."

Olivia quietly leaned against Charlotte, saying no more.

Before long, Oliver Hudson drove Charlotte back to the Thompson family home.

As soon as Charlotte stepped through the door, the children in the living room ran over to her.

"Mommy, are you alright?"

"Those reporters were too much! It’s intentional harm, we can take them to court!"

"Annie, are you hurt?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

It was clear the children were already aware of what had happened to Charlotte earlier.

Charlotte quickly reassured the children and then looked up to see Jonathan Thompson sitting in the living room.

"Don’t worry, Charlotte, I have already suppressed the news. Those reporters won’t be able to expose anything."

Jonathan gave Charlotte a reassuring look.

In fact, when Charlotte left with Oliver Hudson, she anticipated that the reporters would surely sensationalize the matter again. So, she promptly contacted Jonathan to prepare in advance to prevent those news from being exposed.

"But, Charlotte, this can’t keep happening." Jonathan got up, hands in his pockets, and walked over to Charlotte.

"This kind of thing will happen again and again. The online chatter has already reached a certain point, and there’s no need for you and Justin to wait any longer."

But after hearing Jonathan’s words, Charlotte shook her head gravely.

"Jonathan, I know you’re worried about me, but now is not the right time to clarify."

What Charlotte and Justin needed to do now was wait.

Because Charlotte knew that Leon Battleson definitely had other tricks up his sleeve.

And those could very well lead to Leon Battleson’s own downfall.
