Timeless Hunter: Blood Of Old-Chapter 13: Hunted
With his new toys, Akaris spent hours in the underground training room of the director. The training room had everything including training dummies.
He knew now that pushing his body to the limit can increase his stats. He did pushups with weights on his back.
He used the treadmill until he felt like his legs were burning. He used the dummies to train his archery.
He was trying to shoot a dummy standing behind another like in anime and novels but he couldn’t do it.
He figured he just lacked the skill not that it was impossible. The one thing he improved on the most was his swordsmanship.
He trained the sword for hours, infusing it with mana and cutting the air really fast to try and create mana slash.
Of course it didn’t work but he didn’t give up, he swore he would do it someday. After some time he felt his stomach grumble.
He went to the cafeteria but brought his katana and bow. There he found a group of goblins numbering 14.
He killed five of them with his bow before the others got close to him. He wasn’t worried, these were normal goblins.
He pulled out his katana and infused it with mana. He infused his legs and arms as well making himself faster and stronger.
The goblins stood no chance, he danced through them, his sword moving like a blur creating a canvas of blood. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
In only a few seconds he had killed all of them, yet he was still yet to reach level nine, it was kind of demoralising.
He checked the fridge for food and found frozen yoghurt. There were snacks in the vending machine.
He smashed the glass and took as many chips as he can carry then ran back to the underground training room.
The second day was a few hours from ending, he planned to spend the night there as it was safer.
He trained with every opportunity he got but he did not get the notification that he got extra stats.
He wondered why that was, he asked the system but it did not answer, he figured it also didn’t know.
He went to sleep, unbeknownst to him, the scorpion and the shadow wolf pack were still hunting him.
As the only one with a real human scent he was very appetising to them. However tracking him under this rain was not easy even with their senses.
Of course the two monsters weren’t working together. After fighting each other they went their separate ways to hunt him down.
And now that has tracked him to the university and were drawing close to him. Akaris slept blissfully unaware of the lurking danger.
The next time he woke up he went upstairs and saw the time on the clock on the wall. It was 5am of the third day.
To think it was only the third day after he went through so much. It felt like it’d been a month to him.
He grabbed a backpack and went to grab as much food as he could. Today he planned to leave this place.
He didn’t know where the safe zones were but as long as he left this danger zone he figured he would be fine.
The university was on the outskirts of the city, behind it was a forest then one would leave the city.
He figured the danger zone was probably the whole city. If that’s the case then leaving the city should solve his problem.
He first went to the gym area to take more arrows, 20 were nowhere near enough. He took three quivers.
Each with around 20 arrows, they were heavy but he believed it was worth it. Just as he was about to leave he came face to face with a large wolf.
It was a shadow wolf, not the alpha but even the normal members were incredibly dangerous.
The wolf howled, " Shit." He shot it with an arrow which it dodged, then he used future sight.
He fired an arrow before it could move, a second before and then it pounced throwing itself on the direct part of his arrow.
It pierced through it eye but it didn’t die immediately as the arrow didn’t reach it brain.
He had no time to finish it off since he could already hear the howls of the other wolves. He turned around and ran as fast as he could.
He ran down the stairs to the back of the university, on his way he also saw another enemy and it confirmed his suspicion.
These demons were hunting him, the scorpion shot it stinger missing him by a few centimetres.
The stinger pierced through the wall behind him. The wolf alpha also appeared, he turned and jumped down the stairs.
He shot two arrows at the same time, it was the first time he tried that move and he missed by a mile.
He rolled down and stood up instantly, he got out the door and locked it behind him. He heard the wolf’s roar and the scorpion screech.
He knew they were fighting each other which was great for him. He ran to the back of the school as fast as he could.
The rain kept falling around him soaking him wet but it did not matter. With his vitality he won’t suffer a cold.
He ran to forest behind the school, the moment he got there he jumped into a bush of flowers and berries.
These flowers had a strong smell, he hoped they could hide his scent from the demons chasing him.
He continued running until he heard wolf howls around him. He knew he couldn’t outrun them so he stopped and climbed a tree.
Enhanced by mana, his ability to climb was much better than before. He reached the peak of the tree really quickly.
Using his enhanced eyesight he searched for them. He didn’t even use future sight, he planned to use the rain and wind to mask the sound of his arrows.
He watched one of them sniffing the ground searching for his scent. He tied the thicker string and drew his bow then infused mana into his arrow.
With time he was able to infuse more mana to his arrow. The blue aura around it grew stronger and brighter.
These wolves had low spirits unlike their alpha, they were not very sensitive to mana. He took a deep breath and entered a zen state.
His mind was super focused, he could see the wolf’s movements clearly even through the rain, then he released his arrow.
