To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 195: Ji-hoo’s feelings on the matter
Chin-hwa walked down and found both his fathers waiting for them. They took one look at their baby and the shocked expression on their faces transformed into a gentle smile.
At the venue, everyone was seated and chattering.
The guests weren’t a lot.
They wanted to hold a small-scale wedding, but for a small-scale wedding, they sure knew how to make things grand.
And the big figures there were by no means small.
Maybe it was because the Sun and Young family, the leading reputable families, were getting joined by marriage, so those who had supported them from the beginning were there to send their blessings.
It was like a little social party with little socializing because Baek-Hyun would not tolerate anyone trying to make connections on such a special day.
"Wah, I still can’t believe Hwa is getting married." Seoung-bo exclaimed as she blew her nose after crying tears of joy
"Our little Hwa is all grown up." Dong-cha said. "He’s gonna have a happily ever after before all of us. I feel so proud."
"They went all out in the decorations." Beom-Chim said as he tilted his glasses. He was sitting with his girlfriend.
"Well, duh. The youngest of the two most prominent families are getting married. It’s the least to expect." Seoung-bo said. "But the guests are fewer than I thought. I thought they would make it similar to their own wedding. You know, it’s still a show worth watching even now."
Hae-won’s marriage was like a fairytale, no doubt. It was beautiful and magical in a way.
"Hm, the guest list is definitely for those outstanding, but why is he here?" Dong-cha asked, pointing at Ji-hoo behind them and they all turned their heads around. "You’re not here to make trouble, right? Like Ex trying to steal the bride away?
Ji-hoo heard this and laughed.
"I’d be crazy to do that." He said.
"Yeah, very crazy so get rid of those feelings you have for our Hwa. It’ll only leave you hurt."
Ji-hoo knew that but he was definitely not here to make trouble.
"You might not believe it but Chin-hwa invited me on his own." Ji-hoo explained and they exchanged glances.
It was rather cruel, hm.
"Well, since you’re not here to make trouble, do as you like."
Ji-hoo sat there, smiling but he was hurt inside. However, he wasn’t going to let his own feelings get in the way of Chin-hwa’s happiness.
He made a promise before and he intended to keep that promise, all for Chin-hwa’s sake. But it didn’t mean he wasn’t sad about how things unfolded.
He had heard that Chin-hwa and Kang-woo were a couple from the gossip he heard around the campus. The news had even spread to his faculty and that was how he knew, but he never heard it from Chin-hwa’s mouth.
Chin-hwa didn’t even have a proper breakup before falling into his dream relationship with Kang-woo if at all they could even consider that they were in a relationship, to begin with. It was just a decoy but still... His feelings were real.
He was mad and sad.
Chin-hwa could’ve at least told him about it. About the progress and stuff like that but... Once he saw Chin-hwa, he had no time to feel mad or sad.
Chin-hwa called a few days back and asked to meet up. While Ji-hoo waited, he had so many thoughts roaming his head. He didn’t know if to reprimand Chin-hwa or put the blame for his aching heart on him, but as soon as Chin-hwa showed up, smiling more beautiful than he ever did, the thoughts melted, and he was just...
He was just happy.
Happy to see such a smile on his face and happy that Chin-hwa really did find peace in his heart.
"I’m sorry," Chin-hwa apologized. "And thank you."
"This is probably my first time receiving an apology and appreciation at the same time." Ji-hoo jester, his hand roaming his hair as he laughed.
"Sorry, I don’t know how to put the words." Chin-hwa said. "But I want you to know that I’m very grateful for your help. It was thanks to you that I was able to understand things better."
He was referring to his knowledge of Kang-woo’s condition. If Ji-hoo wasn’t there to spite Kang-woo with his presence, Kang-woo would’ve never disclosed that he had been on the verge of death all that time he was away.
It helped Chin-hwa open his eyes to the truth and understand so many things, which brought about a progression in their relationship.
"Well, you got what you wanted." Ji-hoo said as he patted Chin-hwa’s head and Chin-hwa nodded. "I want you to know that I’m happy for you."
"I’m expecting a baby." Chin-hwa suddenly said, startling Ji-hoo.
"What? How? Where did that come from?" He asked, scanning Chin-hwa frantically from head to toe and Chin-hwa laughed.
"It just sorta happened." He said and then brought out an invitation card, dropping yet another bomb on Ji-hoo. "My wedding is in a few days as well. Please come."
Ji-hoo’s eyes were spinning. Baby, wedding, and then what’s next?
It was a little too much for him to process.
Chin-hwa got up and he regained himself.
"I’ll get going now. I can’t stay out too long." Chin-hwa said and smiled at him. "I hope that one day, you’ll find someone whom you can love and receive love from."
Ji-hoo heard those words and smiled.
"Yes, me too." He said and stood up as well. "Do I at least get one more hug? Or will I become a wanted man if I touch you?" He asked and Chin-hwa laughed.
Just a hug is fine. Besides, the one who could make him a wanted man wasn’t there. At least, that’s what Chin-hwa liked to believe.
He never knew what his daddy was up to during times like this.
Well, everyone was busy with the preparations, so they shouldn’t pay much heed to what he was doing. That would’ve been the case if he wasn’t an expecting mother.
Chin-hwa hugged Ji-hoo one last time and then smiled.
"Bye-bye; I’ll see you next year, I guess." Chin-hwa said and Ji-hoo nodded.
"Yeah," he watched Chin-hwa leave, and only then did he realize he said he’d see him next year. "Wait, is he traveling somewhere or something?" But Chin-hwa was already gone.
He brushed the back of his hair and sighed.
"Hah, forget it. It’s none of my business now." He thought out loud.
Ji-hoo remembered this and sighed. He looked towards the alter where Kang-woo stood with Deok-ryu, who was trying to man him up or something. And then, the procession started.
"All rise."
