Together Apart: Her White Moonlight Has Returned Too-Chapter 164: Who Do You Want to Die With You?
Luke Shaw pushed Vera Yves back into the room. The man she had stabbed unconscious had already woken up. Luke Shaw instructed him to tie Vera Yves up again, and to tape her mouth shut.
Luke Shaw leaned closer to Vera Yves, trying to kiss her. She turned her head away.
"Don’t want me to touch you?" Hatred flared in Luke Shaw’s eyes as he grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him. "Still acting aloof now!"
As he spoke, Luke Shaw attempted to tear Vera Yves’ clothes.
The man next to him calmly said, "Someone’s already on their way here, and you’re still thinking about this kind of thing? The police will be here soon too. We must leave immediately. She’s already seen our faces, kill her!"
Another man said, "She’s so pretty, and I haven’t even slept with her yet. What a waste if she dies!"
Luke Shaw replied impatiently, "I have a use for her."
No matter if it was Miles Monroe or Winston Valentine, making them watch Vera Yves die in front of them would be the best revenge.
Anyway, he couldn’t escape anymore, so he would take Vera Yves with him, and if he could drag anyone else along, even better!
"You two can leave now!" Luke Shaw said coldly. "I’ll send you the final payment later."
The leader of the men said, "Transfer us the money now, and we will leave immediately."
Luke Shaw’s eyes darkened.
"Bang!" The sound of a gunshot rang out, and the man fell to the ground. The other man hadn’t reacted yet when another "bang" sounded.
Vera Yves trembled with fear, not expecting Luke Shaw to kill two people without blinking an eye.
The two gunshots were piercing in the silent night. Vera Yves felt her heart sink. He wasn’t afraid of exposing his location—it was clear he was prepared to go down together.
The scent of blood permeated the air, causing Vera Yves to feel nauseous.
Luke Shaw pressed the gun against her lower back. "Scared? Don’t worry, I don’t intend to kill you just yet."
Vera Yves felt lingering fear.
Luke Shaw switched on the lights in the house, tied Vera Yves to a chair, then stood by the window with his gun.
Soon, figures appeared within his line of sight. The leading man was tall, and his outline was visible in the moonlight.
Luke Shaw returned to Vera Yves’ side and asked with a smile, "Guess who it is?"
Yates Abbott would definitely contact Miles Monroe immediately after her disappearance.
"Vera Yves, who do you want to die with you?"
The scent of blood in the air grew stronger, amplifying the fear deep within her heart. The cold barrel of a gun was pressed against her temple. Just a pull of Luke Shaw’s trigger, and she’d become a corpse.
Luke Shaw patted her cheek. "Have you figured it out? I can call him in now."
Vera Yves instinctively shook her head.
"Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone to die with?" Luke Shaw whispered in her ear. "Such a beautiful face, it would be even more charming if stained with blood!"
Luke Shaw sent a message: "If you don’t want Vera Yves to die, get your people to retreat, and then come in alone. No tricks."
Vera Yves stared at the shut door.
Of course, she didn’t want anyone to die with her.
But if she could see one person before she died...
The door was pushed open, and a man walked in with his hands raised. Under the light, his face gradually became clear.
"Luke Shaw, bullying a woman doesn’t make you a man."
Winston Valentine?
Vera Yves was somewhat surprised. Why was he here?
Seeing Vera Yves’ expression, Luke Shaw chuckled, "Vera Yves, disappointed? A man who could leave you at the altar, you still expect him to risk his life to save you?"
Upon hearing this, Winston Valentine’s eyes darkened.
He looked at Vera Yves tied to the chair, her hair disheveled, dressed scantily, her mouth sealed with tape, her eyes red and welled with tears looking at him.
In that moment, he felt the urge to kill.
Luke Shaw sneered, "President Valentine moves pretty fast; it seems you really do like this woman!"
"Release her, and I can ensure your father’s safety."
For a moment, Luke Shaw was tempted, but then he sneered, "I’ve kidnapped your woman, that’s a dead end! Ensure my dad’s safety? President Valentine thinks I’m a child?"
"What do you want?"
Luke Shaw, resigned, said, "Winston Valentine, don’t you treasure this woman? I’ll make you watch her die right in front of you!"
"Don’t touch her!" Winston Valentine’s voice was calm. "I’ll agree to any condition you set."
Seeing Winston Valentine, Luke Shaw still instinctively felt pain, and he sneered, "Any condition? Fine, then crawl to me on your knees."
Vera Yves looked at him, shaking her head.
Winston Valentine met her eyes, giving her a reassuring look.
With a thud, Winston Valentine knelt on the ground.
The tears Vera Yves had been holding back slipped down her cheeks. She shook her head. Go, Winston Valentine, don’t kneel, don’t come over!
Seeing the once high-and-mighty man crawling forward on his knees, Luke Shaw laughed out loud.
"Back then, I only jokingly commented on your wife’s good figure, and you beat me half-dead! Winston Valentine, you’re finally getting yours!"
As Luke Shaw spoke, he pressed the gun tightly against Vera Yves, "All those times you beat me for this woman, this time I’ll let you watch her die by my hands! Don’t worry, after I shoot her, I’ll send you along to reunite in The Underworld! You can remarry there!"
"Is kneeling enough?" Winston Valentine looked at the gun barrel calmly. "Is this all you’ve got?"
Luke Shaw, seeing Winston Valentine’s contemptuous look, felt his blood boil. "I want you to kowtow a hundred times!"
Vera Yves struggled forcefully. Luke Shaw held her down. "What’s the rush? Once he’s done kowtowing, I’ll send you both on your way."
Winston Valentine looked at Luke Shaw, "Let her go, and I’ll kowtow."
"Winston Valentine, you think you still have the leverage to negotiate with me?" Luke Shaw looked at him disdainfully. "Will you kowtow or not? If not, I’ll shoot her now!"
"Remove the tape from her mouth so I can say a few words to her, and I’ll kowtow."
Luke Shaw tore the tape from Vera Yves’ mouth.
"Winston Valentine, who told you to come and save me! Just go!" Vera Yves cried as she looked at him, "I don’t need you to save me!"
Luke Shaw sneered, "Hear that? She wants Miles Monroe to save her. President Valentine, why are you getting involved?"
Winston Valentine looked into her eyes, "At this point, can’t you say something I’d like to hear?"
Vera Yves met his gaze, pressing her lips together.
Luke Shaw impatiently said, "Hurry and kowtow! I’m not interested in watching your love talk!"
Vera Yves said coldly, "If you’re a man, don’t kowtow! Even if you do, he won’t let us go!"
Angered by her words, Luke Shaw grabbed a handful of her hair, causing Vera Yves’ face to scrunch up in pain.
Taking advantage of the moment, Winston Valentine lunged, catching Luke Shaw off guard, pinning him. Luke Shaw instinctively pulled the trigger.
With a bang, a gunshot echoed.
The bullet pierced the skin.
Another bang followed closely.
