Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Do I Disgust You That Much?

Seeing Vera Yves drinking water from Miles Monroe’s hand, Winston Valentine strode over and yanked Vera Yves up from the sofa.

Vera winced in pain, and the next second, she was already being picked up horizontally by someone.

"What are you trying to do?" Winston Valentine looked cold, "Has no one told you to stay away from other people’s girlfriends?"

Miles Monroe put the cup of water on the coffee table and stood up, looking at him indifferently, "What right do you have to say that to me? You’re just an opportunist scoundrel."

"Even if I am an opportunist, Counselor Monroe has given me this opportunity." Winston Valentine gazed at the woman in his arms, "Unlike you, not even knowing what you really want."

Miles Monroe also looked at Vera, feeling a pang of bitterness, and said nothing more.

Winston Valentine carried Vera Yves and walked towards the compartment door.

Feeling uncomfortable in his arms, Vera shifted slightly, and Winston’s right arm couldn’t exert much force, so he placed her whole weight on his left arm.

Vera opened her eyes, her beautiful eyes showing some confusion, her gaze landing on his face.

Winston Valentine couldn’t help but stop, inexplicably becoming nervous.

"Why did you just come now?" Vera Yves reached out and held onto his neck, snuggling in his arms, "Winston Valentine."

Winston Valentine sighed in relief, carrying her to the car and instructing the driver to go back to the villa.

Watching her rosy lips, Winston couldn’t help but wonder how long she had been alone with Miles Monroe and why she drank so much.

She had promised him that it was the last time, so why meet with Monsieur Miles alone again?

Thinking of the scene he saw when he came in just now, the two of them leaning together, Winston’s face darkened bit by bit. If he hadn’t gone there, would they have kissed?

Or perhaps they already had.

The car drove into the villa.

Vera was dazed for a while when suddenly the world spun, and she opened her eyes only to find herself carried on someone’s shoulder, the sight of two long legs of a man filling her view.

Her stomach was unsettled.

Tossed onto the bed, Vera instinctively tried to get up, but her legs were pinned down as Winston Valentine unbuttoned his shirt with one hand, bracing himself beside her with the other, staring down at her, "Why did you drink so much?"

Vera looked at him puzzledly, not quite understanding the situation, murmuring, "Annoyed."

"Why annoyed?"

Vera thought of that report and shook her head, attempting to push him away.

Winston didn’t move, "What did you promise me?"

Vera shook her head again, looking bewildered.

"You liar."

Vera subconsciously retorted, "I’m not a liar."

"Then what are you?" Winston tossed his shirt aside, reaching to undo her clothes.

Vera instinctively blocked his hand.

Winston’s expression darkened, "You dislike me touching you this much?"

Vera’s stomach turned, and she pushed him forcefully.

Noticing her movement, Winston moved her hand away, "Then whom do you like to touch you? Vera Yves, I’ve tried not to care about whatever happened between you two before. Why are you still entangled with him?"

"You’re just making me suffer on purpose because you know I like you, aren’t you?"

Vera shook her head.

Winston bent down to kiss her lips.

Vera tried, but couldn’t push him away. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Didn’t you say I’m better than him?" Winston’s voice was hoarse, "Then why don’t you like me touching you?"

"Did he kiss you like this?"

His warm lips pressed on her forehead.

"Did he kiss here?"

His close kisses fell on her, refusing to miss an inch, asking persistently each time he kissed a spot.

Vera couldn’t hold back anymore, and pushed him away, rushing to the bathroom to throw up.

After vomiting, her stomach finally felt more comfortable, her whole body relaxed.

"Vera Yves, do I make you feel this disgusted?"

Vera was baffled, not knowing what madness he was on, closed her eyes groggily, and quickly fell asleep again.

When Vera opened her eyes again, it was late morning, and her hangover gave her a headache.

Getting out of bed, she found herself in a nightgown, freshened up, and changed clothes before heading downstairs, only to find no trace of Winston Valentine.

Breakfast was already prepared, and on the dining table lay a note from Winston Valentine saying he was going on a business trip to Q-City for a week.

Holding the note, Vera was a bit puzzled, couldn’t he have just called or sent a message for such a matter, why leave a note?

After two consecutive days without receiving any WeChat or phone call from Winston Valentine, Vera finally realized something, the petty man’s nature.

Zoe Monroe just happened to invite her for a shopping trip, Vera called Linda Young along, the three of them went shopping for the entire day, ending up having afternoon tea at an internet-famous dessert shop.

"Vera, that night when you got home, nothing happened, right?" Zoe Monroe asked somewhat guiltily.

On her way to the restroom, she had bumped into Theodore Xavier, delaying her for quite a while, when she got back, only her cousin was left in the compartment.

Vera looked at her, baffled, "What could possibly happen to me?"

She didn’t remember meeting Miles Monroe at all.

Linda Young was beside her, looking at her with disbelief, "Why didn’t you ask me?"

"Didn’t your boyfriend pick you up?"

Linda Young brought out her phone and opened her contacts, "Check these two words out for me."

Zoe Monroe glanced at it, "It’s ex, isn’t it?"

"I wonder, which creature could ex be?"

"Ex-boyfriend?" Zoe Monroe looked at her in shock, then suddenly declared firmly, "Impossible! His phone’s wallpaper is still a photo of you two!"

Linda Young paused for a moment, Zoe Monroe continued, "In the photo, your head is leaning on his shoulder, smiling so sweetly!"

Linda Young stuffed a macaron in her mouth, "You just focus on eating your dessert."

Zoe Monroe took a bite of the macaron, jokingly saying, "This macaron isn’t as sweet as your smile."

Linda Young blushed slightly, "That’s enough."

Thinking of something, Linda Young looked at Vera, "I heard from a journalist acquaintance today that the Shepherd Group seems to have some issues, quite serious, Melinda Shelby might end up inside."

So, his business trip might really be for serious reasons.

In the following days, Vera recorded another episode of her show.

After discussing with Linda Young, they finally settled on Nathan Norton to be the male lead of the documentary.

Linda Young also helped Vera make connections, forming a team, and spent two days filming the first episode of the documentary on the mountain where Old Mr. Yves often visited.

Returning home, Vera took a good nap, waking up around eight in the evening, glancing over at the calendar, Winston Valentine had already been on his business trip for eight days, during which they hadn’t contacted each other even once.

Under normal circumstances, if a couple surpasses a week without contact, isn’t it time to break up?

Just as Vera was lost in thought, Hannah Hayes knocked on her room door, "Vera, are you awake? Someone’s here looking for you downstairs."

Vera responded, changed clothes, and went downstairs.

In the living room, Henry Sterling stood upright, greeting Vera politely, "Miss Yves, Mr. Shelby wishes to see you."

Hannah Hayes grumbled, "If she wants to see Vera, why doesn’t she come here herself?"

Henry Sterling maintained a polite attitude, yet carried an air of distance, "Mr. Shelby is busy, so she specifically sent me to pick up Miss Yves."

Vera tightened her clothing slightly, hesitated for a moment, but eventually followed Henry Sterling out the door.
