Together Apart: Her White Moonlight Has Returned Too-Chapter 74: Insisting on Killing It with His Own Hands
Behind Cecilia Vaughn, there were a few people in work uniforms, busy moving items from the villa.
Vera Yves looked slightly cold, "What are you doing?"
The servant said anxiously, "Ma’am, these people said they came to renovate the villa, and I couldn’t stop them..."
Cecilia Vaughn said calmly, "I brought these people. Winston and I are getting married soon, and I don’t like the current decor of the villa, so I’m making changes ahead of time. You don’t mind, do you?"
This woman really is in a hurry.
Vera told the servant to go about their work.
"I mind." Vera said unpleasantly, "Tell them to stop, or I’ll call the police right now!"
As soon as they heard Vera was calling the police, they put down what they were holding.
Cecilia Vaughn crossed her arms and sneered, "You’re about to divorce Winston, so how can you still have the face to stay here in the villa?"
Vera sat on the sofa and chuckled, "First, I’m the one divorcing Winston Valentine, and secondly, are you so loud because you’re afraid no one will know you’re the other woman?"
Cecilia Vaughn said indifferently, "Only the one who laughs last wins. I’m currently the one carrying Winston’s child, and even grandma can’t do anything about it!"
"Do you really think being pregnant will make grandma let you in?" Vera sneered, "If it were that simple, why would you have stayed away for so many years?"
Cecilia Vaughn clenched her palms, "If you could marry into The Valentine Family with a child, so can I!"
"Our Yves Family and The Valentine Family are not a match, but at least I have my family behind me. What do you have?"
Cecilia Vaughn asserted, "Winston loves me!"
"He loves you? Yet he married me with ease, and we were a couple for three years." Vera’s tone was contemptuous, "Seems like his love for you is nothing special."
Cecilia Vaughn clenched her palms tightly, "Vera Yves, what are you so proud of? Everyone in Imperia is waiting for the day Winston kicks you out. I’m telling you, it will be a miserable end for you!"
Vera stood up and looked at her coldly, "Then keep your eyes wide open and see if I’ll be miserable!"
Cecilia Vaughn snorted coldly and continued to have people move things.
Vera said leisurely, "Didn’t you investigate before coming here? This villa is under my name. Even if I divorce Winston, it’s still my private property."
"What did you say?" Cecilia Vaughn looked at her in disbelief.
"But your timing is perfect." Vera’s voice was icy, "I’ve already packed up Winston’s things. Please inform him to take them away at his convenience so I don’t have to see them and feel annoyed."
Cecilia Vaughn’s face turned red with anger.
Vera walked over to her, smiling, "Cecilia Vaughn, remember this: It’s because I gave up being Mrs. Valentine that you have the chance! What you have are just the things I, Vera Yves, didn’t want!"
Cecilia Vaughn gritted her teeth and glared at her, then left dejectedly with the group.
Half an hour later, she went to The Valentine Group to find Winston Valentine and tearfully recounted the events.
Winston Valentine’s expression was calm, "The villa is indeed under her name."
Cecilia Vaughn said aggrievedly, "Even if it’s under her name, it’s marital property. Are you not going to take it back after divorcing her? What about those expensive bags, jewelry, clothes, shoes? How is she fit to continue using them?"
Winston Valentine’s eyes darkened, "Our property division will be handled by professional lawyers. You don’t need to worry."
"Winston, do you know how Vera treats you? She’s even planning to kick you out!" Cecilia Vaughn became more and more agitated, "That’s a Valentine Family villa. How can Vera have the right to do that?"
He probably knew she hated him now. Winston Valentine’s gaze dimmed a bit, "It’s her villa, so naturally she can do whatever she wants."
That villa is in a prime location, worth over two hundred million, not to mention the luxurious furniture inside. Why should Vera get it?
"If grandma finds out you’re getting a divorce..."
"If you want the divorce to proceed smoothly, don’t tell grandma."
Cecilia Vaughn rubbed her belly, "Now that we have a child, grandma will definitely accept me."
Winston Valentine didn’t look at her, just said coldly, "If you want to move out of the old house, I’ll arrange another place for you."
Cecilia Vaughn looked at his stern expression, her watery eyes grew deep, thinking that as long as Vera was gone, her relationship with Winston could go back to what it was!
Vera went to the clinic during the day and returned to the villa at night, maintaining a regular schedule, and even her morning sickness had improved a lot. Maybe even the baby sensed its fate and stopped struggling.
Two days later, Winston Valentine returned to the villa to take her for surgery.
Vera didn’t expect him to come in person, and asked expressionlessly, "Winston Valentine, when you said you didn’t like children, were you lying?"
Winston Valentine looked at her slightly pale face, his voice cold, "I truly don’t like children."
"You dislike them so much you’d personally kill it?"
Winston’s gaze flickered slightly, "Since you want a divorce, you should know this child can’t be kept."
Vera looked at him indifferently, "Winston Valentine, I don’t want to use the child as a bargaining chip, but I really don’t have the resources to keep it. I want to add three points to the divorce agreement."
Winston showed no expression, "Do you think you have the right to negotiate with me?"
"Why wouldn’t I?" Vera sneered, "Your grandma has been hoping for a child from me for years. If I call her now and tell her I’m pregnant, do you think I won’t be able to keep the child?"
Winston Valentine looked at her with dark, deep eyes, "I said don’t complicate simple matters."
"Though I once looked forward to this child." Vera’s voice was cold, "But at the thought of your blood lying in its body, I feel disgusted! I don’t want to be entangled with you even for another second!"
Winston was silent for a moment, "Tell me your conditions."
"First, the cooperation with the Yves Family was your proposal from the start, regardless of your intentions, you must continue it."
Vera’s voice was calm, "Second, I want you to issue a statement to the public, telling everyone that it was your infidelity that caused our divorce!" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Winston glanced at her.
Vera sneered, "What, no guts to issue a statement?"
As the president of The Valentine Group, he represented the group’s image. Issuing such a statement would undoubtedly cause turmoil within the group and give an opportunity to those with ulterior motives.
And claiming he had an affair would inevitably drag Cecilia Vaughn into it.
Winston Valentine’s brows slightly furrowed. After a long silence, he said coldly, "I agree."
Vera wasn’t surprised, and said calmly, "Third, in future we won’t notify each other of marriages or funerals. Even if we meet again, please pretend not to know me."
"I also have a condition."
Vera looked at him coldly.
"I need time to explain to grandma, and until I tell her, our divorce will remain confidential."
"How long do you need?"
"A month."
"Fine, a month later, we’ll go public."
They arrived at the hospital, and Winston had already made all the arrangements. Vera walked into the operating room and lay down on the cold operating table.
