Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!-Chapter 17: No one can ever take her things again!
Chapter 17: Chapter 17: No one can ever take her things again!
Sophie Nye looked at Eleanor Spencer with a peculiar expression. Thinking carefully about what Eleanor had just said, if she hadn’t been keeping up with the news, she might have been misled into believing Aurelia Shaw had done something unspeakable.
Realizing she almost misunderstood Aurelia Shaw, Sophie felt a bit guilty and apologetic, and when she looked at Eleanor again, she felt a slight aversion, thinking this girl wasn’t as pure and kind as she appeared.
Eleanor sensed the gazes of those around her were filled with doubt, contempt, and disdain. She wanted to explain, but as she moved her lips, she realized she couldn’t explain anything. Her hands, clutching her phone, became tense and white with anger, and she bit her teeth in resentment.
Why did it turn out like this? Obviously, I’m the victim here—the one being suspected should be Aurelia Shaw! Where exactly did it go wrong?
With her scheme exposed, Eleanor couldn’t bear to stay any longer. She used her bag to cover her face and hurried away in shame. Sophie Nye also felt uncomfortable staying and awkwardly smiled at Aurelia, said a few words to excuse herself, and followed after Eleanor.
The room suddenly became quiet. Aurelia asked the maid to help her upstairs. Just as the maid was about to move, Mason Nightshade’s calm, deep voice interrupted, "Wait a moment."
He swept his long arm, his strong arm circling Aurelia’s waist, easily holding her firm in his embrace, making her unable to move. She felt the hot, damp breath of the man behind her ear, as heated as lava. Her whole body stiffened, her back straightened, her fingers tightly clenched into her palm, and only by feeling the pain of her nails digging in did she resist the urge to immediately push him away.
Mason lowered his gaze, watching her trembling eyelashes and her face, which instantly turned cold. His eyes darkened, and his rough thumb gently caressed the soft flesh on her waist. He was well aware of how sensitive her waist was.
Suddenly, another large hand covered her thin chin, squeezing it slightly, seemingly dissatisfied with the small, bony feel in his palm. He frowned.
"Eat supper before going up to rest."
"I’m tired, I won’t eat dinner," Aurelia replied coldly and indifferently. She tried to get up, but as soon as she moved, the arm around her waist pressed her back down, and the commanding tone at her ear was unyielding: "Eat and then sleep!" freēnovelkiss.com
Aurelia’s entire body bristled with tension, even the hair on her scalp stood on end, her mind buzzed, and with immense self-control, she curbed the nausea in her stomach and didn’t struggle free.
When she was about to reach her limit, suddenly her body was lifted, and with a spin, landed on a hard chair, already in the dining room.
"Prepare dinner," Mason instructed the maid. Turning his head, he reverted to his calm indifference, "You’re not allowed to go anywhere until you’ve finished your dinner!"
These words were non-negotiable.
The cold aura of the man suddenly receded, and Aurelia let out a breath, only then unclenching her tightly gripped hands. Her lowered gaze missed the man’s gradually deepening stare above her head.
After dinner, disregarding Mason’s gaze, Aurelia instructed the maid to help her upstairs, and she went back to her room to retreat.
She leaned against the bed to read a book for a while, preparing to wash up. When she got up to head to the bathroom, she paused, returned to the door, locked it, and for additional security, blocked it with a chair before finally entering the bathroom.
She and Mason had been sleeping in separate rooms since their marriage began, maintaining this state for quite some time. Back then, to climb into Mason’s bed, she tried every night to "seduce" him. Once, she even listened to Eleanor and drugged Mason’s drink.
The result was disastrous. Mason found out, coldly mocked her with biting words, slammed the door on his way out, and didn’t return for a long time. Even when they met, he would glance at her with disdain and an icy detachment, as if he didn’t even want to look at her for another second.
With her leg injury inconvenient, Aurelia didn’t wash for long; she simply cleaned herself and returned to bed, continuing to read the script—the very one she was working on during her injury.
In her past life, because of an incident at the hospital, she was dropped from the cast, and the role she was meant for was given to a young actor who used it to make a formal entrance into the entertainment industry.
While the role wasn’t particularly favorable, it was significant enough within the series to change how the audience viewed the actor.
In this life, no one would take away what is hers.
An icy, cold glint flashed in Aurelia’s eyes.
Late at night, as Aurelia was sound asleep, she didn’t hear the soft click of the lock turning. The door creaked open, and a tall, slender figure walked in—

Aurelia, with an indifferent face: "Don’t touch me, stay far away from me!"
A certain man, with a pitiful face: "Honey, I was wrong, I’ll go home and kneel on the washboard, the keyboard, even macaroni, okay?"
Aurelia: "Get lost!!! Didn’t you see the author knows seeing you makes my stomach sick?"
A certain man, angrily overturning the table: "Author, come out here! I’m not—
