Top Gamer Reincarnated as an Archmage-Chapter 31: Intruders Shadow
"Torren!" The white-haired leaned in forward, his posture shifting as he tried to stop the beast about to throw the spear.
"VICTOR GOD DAMN IT!" Torren screamed as he kept clutching his spear, his golden aura becoming as sharp as the sun itself.
’What are they doing?’ Razael stood still, waiting, he didn’t want to harm them at all, he just needed to stall.
"Fuck, you always fuck with my games, Victor!"
"What games... this is an enemy..."
’Two versus one,’ whilst the two kept arguing, Razael looked around and analysed his position, trying to come to a solution.
"Shadow Cling," Razael muttered the spell, and instantly thin tendrils of darkness started wrapping around Torren’s and Victor’s legs, shocking them whilst limiting their movement.
"Fuck—"
"You big idiot," Victor screamed as they both tried to break out, however, as they tried to force the tendrils off, they just started getting held tighter.
"Eclipse Bolt!" Razael held his hands out, and a lightning-fast shadow bolt darted out of his hands, tunnelling towards the two locked in place.
But it wasn’t even close to being over, the two weren’t weak.
"Whirlwind Spin!" Torren screamed the name of his technique, his golden aura enveloping both him and his spear as he spun around like a tornado, wiping out the tendrils and deleting the bolt from existence.
’Fuck,’ Razael leapt from shadow to shadow, however, he wasn’t as sneaky as he thought he would be.
"Got you," that was all he heard before a pair of ruby eyes locked onto him, Victor grinned like a maniac as his hands formed a triangle.
"STORM LANCE!" A ginormous spear launched from the triangle, Razael stood still, looking at the glance, however, he couldn’t just stand still as Torren also started rushing at him.
"Abyssal Maw," a huge shadow mouth appeared from the shadows behind Razael, and it swallowed the lightning like the child would candy.
A swing came from the side, but Razael managed to dodge in time, he wasn’t known for his strength, but rather his agility.
"I recognise you," Torren laughed as he tried to launch a punch at Razael, however, he dodged again.
"Coiling—" Victor was about to channel his mana again, but Torren screamed up.
"STOP!"
Both Victor and Razael became flabbergasted at the man suddenly stopping his attacks.
"I will deal with the man, you just watch!"
"..."
"..."
The two stood dumbfounded whilst looking at the grinning Torren, who clearly was getting ahead of himself.
’I don’t need to win, just stall,’ but Razael didn’t mind Torren’s stupidity at all.
He was glad that the man was this stupid, he didn’t need to win, he just needed to stall until Klaus finished whatever plan he had in mind.
"Soul Eclipse," Torren’s shadow started disappearing as colour slowly drained from his entire body.
"Pitiful tricks..."
’Anything works...be fast, Sir Klaus..’
—
Klaus stood still in front of the snoring Cassian.
"Hey, fucker," Klaus kicked his leg, however, he didn’t react at all, just moved to the side of the bed and kept snoring.
’Is he serious?’ Jen held back her laugh as they both stood still. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
’Give it some fire...try not to burn everything down though,’ she chuckled as she snapped her fingers.
"Blazing prison," chains of fire appeared around Cassian’s body, burning off the clothes under the chains, his body instantly shook as his eyes flung open, he tried to swing his arms, but he couldn’t because of the flames.
"Y-YOU!" He screamed, however, a chain wrapped around his mouth, limiting his voice completely.
"Let me talk," Klaus took a seat next to Cassian, whose body was slowly getting covered in sweat.
The flames were not harming him, however, they surely were affecting him.
"I’m here because of Nyra, I’m sure you know.." He put his hand on Cassian’s head, who tried to shake it off but couldn’t, "who I’m talking about."
’Lightning arc,’ a short arc of lightning instantly got channeled into Cassian’s head, making his body squirm around as he squivelled.
"You see," he lifted his hand off whilst Cassian kept struggling and trying to scream, "she is a teammate of mine, so I can’t have you harming her family. Is that understood?" He made the point clear, however, Cassian wasn’t agreeing.
Despite his hands and whole body being locked in the flaming prison chains, he moved his fingers, showing a middle finger to Klaus.
’Alright,’ he put his hands down again on his head, ’lightning arc.’ Again, lightning got channeled into his head, way harder this time, which shook his entire body, making him nearly scream if it weren’t for the chains of fire.
’Torture him,’ Klaus’s request made Jen’s body shudder for a second, but she wouldn’t disobey his orders.
"Fire Bolt," a blazing rod appeared in her hands as she floated closer. Cassian tried to scream, however, he couldn’t, the chains wouldn’t even budge.
Klaus watched from the corner as Jen pushed the blazing rod against Cassian’s skin repeatedly, making him squirm and grasp against his blanket as he couldn’t even let out a yelp. Slowly, his skin became charred as he burned, small amounts of blood dripping on the bed.
’Keep going until he obeys.’
Klaus kept watching with a smile on his face, not even being aware of the events outside.
—
Torren and Razael went back and forth between attacking and defending, yet Razael was calm and collected, whilst Torren was now covered in scars. His skin was pale white by now, and his aura was slowly decreasing.
’Will he ever forfeit?’ Razael sighed as he looked at the bloody, panting man in front of him. He could still feel the mana leaking from the room, even more so now, yet Victor didn’t seem to budge and move there, even if he wasn’t busy.
’Why isn’t he going past me?’ He couldn’t keep his eyes off Victor whilst he dodged another spear spin. He just stood still, hands in his pockets.
’This isn’t good—’ Before Razael could finish that thought, he felt a surge of mana from behind him.
"Took you long enough," Victor chuckled as a ginormous lance made of fire slammed into Razael’s back, making him fall in front of Torren, who looked rather embarrassed.
"He was mine, Korath!"
"You were losing, you idiot," Korath walked forward, obsidian eyes gleaming under the moonlight.
