Top Gamer Reincarnated as an Archmage-Chapter 36: CMA class (1)
The door spread open in front of them as soon as they stepped closer.
The inside was way different than the previous classroom.
It was the wilderness, to be more precise, it was an open field.
’What is this?’
"Spatial magic," Matthias walked forward into the field, followed closely by Klaus, as soon as they stepped in, the door closed.
From the inside, it was just a door in the middle of an empty field, no wall, no people, no nothing.
"You are the first two to arrive," a voice came from no direction yet everywhere at the same time, making both Klaus and Matthias look around in search.
’The hell?’
"Ah, I apologise," a boy appeared in front of them, he looked to be the same age as them, however, the aura he carried said otherwise.
His short brown fluttered in the wind, however, his grey eyes looked soulless for some reason, like he was a zombie.
’Kinda creepy,’ Klaus shuddered for a second as he looked at the boy up and down properly.
"I will be your instructor, my name is Bastian Reinhardt," he wore a very simple shit colored brown suit with a white shirt, his black boots looked like a typical suit someone would wear to a ball.
Even Matthias seemed startled as he looked at the young boy up and down, possibly startled by his age.
"Do not worry about my appearance," Bastian chuckled as the door behind Klaus and Matthias opened, more students slowly came inside the field.
"What is this?"
"Woah, spatial magic?!"
Many of the first years who entered were from Class B, not many from Class A came, Klaus looked for familiar faces, however, he didn’t see any.
’Ah, so those two didn’t choose this class,’ he turned forward again and faced the instructor, maybe it was for the best to be alone—
"We’ll be good," Matthias fist-bumped his shoulder, nearly making him stumble backwards in front of everyone.
’Right, nearly forgot about this guy,’ his eyes twitched, however, Bastian cleared his throat, making everyone turn towards him.
Some of the students were even taller than the instructor himself, making them look even more amazed at the boy.
"Welcome to my CMA class!!" He chuckled, "Which is short for combat magic applications." Many of the students cheered, however, some were still sceptical about the instructor’s looks.
"My name is Bastian Reinhardt, and I will be your instructor for this class from this day on," he genuinely seemed cheerful to be teaching the class, however, one thing was obvious.
"You aren’t actually a kid, are you?" Klaus finally asked the question everyone had in mind, making the instructor chuckle a bit as he covered his mouth.
"Of course not, well, not my brain to be specific," he put his hands into his pockets, the wind blew past them for no reason.
"Other than that, I cannot disclose any other information," Bastian’s smile disappeared completely, which made all the students shocked.
’I see, is he cursed maybe?’ He had questions, but now that he saw the instructor’s face, it probably wasn’t the best time to ask.
"So, are there any questions?" Matthias raised his hand instantly as soon as Bastian asked that question.
Klaus wanted to facepalm, but he resisted the urge to do so.
"Are you the famous spatial magician Sir Bastion?" Matthias’s question, though, came off rather polite compared to his personality and how he acted.
’Famous spatial magician?’
"That would be me, yes." He agreed with a wide smile, which made some of the students appear shocked, however, most of them still did not have a clue who he was.
"Now, let the class begin," he snapped his hands, and multiple targets appeared in front of them, they seemed to be made out of wood with a gigantic red target in the middle of them.
"Woah, silent casting—"
"Not exactly," Bastian overheard the students and corrected him, which made the tall, dark-haired boy shudder.
"Inside this space, I can silent cast, yes, outside, I can’t," he shook his head, his expression seemed sad, "however, I am aware of two silent casters in here."
He turned to Klaus and Matthias, the two just stood still next to each other without saying anything. Matthias instantly seemed to be in a jolly mood, however, Klaus was the exact opposite.
’I guess they do know already anyways,’ he shrugged and nodded as well, which made many of the students gulp.
"Now, I will be showing you a way to attack the targets, do pay attention." He turned towards the targets and lifted his arm.
’This is my chance.’
Klaus squinted and got ready to copy a spell Bastian would launch at the targets.
He didn’t say anything, just sliced the air with his hands vertically. As soon as he did that, Klaus screamed inside his mind.
’Record spell!’
[Fractured Horizon spell recorded!]
[Record Spell available again 60 minutes.]
A thin vertical tear appeared in the space in front of Bastian, and it launched forward towards the targets, cutting them in half instantly.
It didn’t leave any aftermath, explosions, nothing, just cut the training dolls in half cleanly like they were made of butter.
’Huh?’ Both Klaus and the other students stared surprised, however, Bastian just snapped his fingers, and the dolls got replaced by new ones.
"Woah," even Matthias stared in awe at the display of strength, no sound was made during the cut whatsoever either, which made it even more amazing.
’That spell is insane...’
"Now, that is a distant spell, I can use it from any distance, doesn’t matter how far the target is, as long as they don’t dodge out of the way of the spell, it is a guaranteed hit." He turned towards the students, "which is what we call a guhit spell."
’Guhit?’
"It stands for guaranteed hit spell," as he finished his sentence, the students instantly started murmuring amongst themselves, however, the class was very far from over, it was just beginning.
’How is it a guaranteed hit if they can dodge it.. then it’s not guaranteed...’ Klaus held back the urge to facepalm.
"Now then, since we have two prodigies, why don’t they demonstrate a spell each?" His grey eyes towards Klaus and Matthias, making the other students turn as well instantly, almost like they were synchronised.
’Horrible idea,’
"Sure!" Matthias agreed instantly, and he grabbed Klaus by the wrist and pulled him forward.
"Hey—"
Before he could even say anything, they already stood in front of the instructor, facing the targets directly.
"Now, launch two spells," he moved out of the way, signalling for the students to also take a cautious step back.
