Chapter 29: Ch 29: The Cycle of Karma

The marbles, dull and muddy, began to tremble violently.

The faint glow surrounding them grew brighter and brighter until the colors began to peel away like the shedding of an ancient shell.

Slowly, their true colors emerged.

One radiated a pristine white light, exuding an aura of divine creation, while the other pulsed with an ominous blackness, shrouded in a crimson haze that whispered of death and destruction.

Ye Tian’s crimson eyes glinted with intrigue as he stared at the contrasting orbs.

He felt a powerful aura radiating from them... an aura he had not sensed for countless eons.

"Karma..." he muttered, his voice low, almost reverent.

One orb was white, its energy warm and boundless, representing life, birth, prosperity, and divinity.

It was Yang, the essence of creation, light, and fire.

The other was black, cold and suffocating, embodying death, destruction, and finality.

It was Yin, the essence of darkness, end, and ice.

"Yin and Yang..." Ye Tian said, his voice carrying an edge of nostalgia.

"The progenitors of all things..."

These forces were older than the cosmos, predating even the oldest Supreme Creators.

Not even the greatest beings dared to disrespect the duality of Yin and Yang.

Their balance dictated the universe, the endless cycle of creation and destruction, life and death.

Taken one by one, they were unparalleled in power.

Unleashed individually, their might could overthrow even Supreme Creators and bring cosmic systems to their knees.

But they were meant to coexist.

When their balance was disturbed, their power would spiral out of control, rewriting the laws of existence.

"But together..." Ye Tian murmured, gazing at the two marbles.

"When they work in harmony, their union represents neutrality... the true zero of all things. Good is bad. Bad is good. Death begets life, and life leads to death. This is the Tai Chi..."

He reached out, his hand brushing against the auras of the marbles.

Their energy surged through him, intense and unyielding.

He gritted his teeth as the auras enveloped him, revealing another truth.

"These marbles... They are the foundation of reincarnation itself. Life and death... Creation and destruction... They govern the Cycle of Karma."

His eyes glimmered with recognition as he whispered...

"But why are they here? And why is their power so... diluted?"

He pondered deeply, his mind running through countless possibilities.

But before he could settle on an answer, an unnatural pull tugged at his very soul.

It wasn’t the marbles themselves... no, this was something else.

A small smile crept onto Ye Tian’s lips.

"I see... So, you’re calling me..."

He closed his eyes and allowed his consciousness to fade, willingly surrendering himself to whatever was summoning him.

Ye Tian’s soul was drawn into another realm entirely. When he opened his eyes, he found himself standing amidst an ethereal fog that blanketed the entire space.

The realm was divided perfectly in two halves...

To his right was a golden world of radiant light, brimming with the vibrancy of life.

Trees stretched endlessly toward a glowing sun, and streams of pure energy cascaded like rivers of molten gold.

To his left was an abyss of blackened earth, where no life could survive.

A crimson haze filled the air, and skeletal remains littered the barren ground.

The atmosphere was cold, suffocating, and oppressive.

He stood perfectly on the dividing line between life and death, where the two worlds met and balanced one another.

The energy of the realm was overwhelming, even to him.

Ye Tian chuckled softly, his voice echoing in the fog.

"I was right... So, you finally reveal yourselves."

A voice rang out, breaking the silence.

It was divine and androgynous, carrying a weight that defied mortal comprehension.

"After countless eons of waiting... Finally, someone has found us..." the voice said, calm but filled with relief.

Another voice followed, sharper and colder. "Indeed... We had nearly given up on this cursed wait. Mortal, you have been chosen..."

Ye Tian’s eyes darted to the right as a figure emerged from the golden light.

It was the white marble, now surrounded by a blinding aura.

"I am Yang..." the voice declared.

"The progenitor of life, prosperity, and good karma."

From the left came the black marble, its red and black aura thick and oppressive.

"And I am Yin, the progenitor of death, destruction, and bad karma..." it said, its voice colder than ice.

Together, the two marbles spoke in unison.

"We are the Progenitors of All Things...Life, Death, and Everything Beyond."

Ye Tian crossed his arms, maintaining his calm demeanor.

’Impressive introduction...’ he thought mockingly.

’But what is this about?’

Yin’s voice rumbled.

"You have found us, mortal. And because you are alive, we offer you this chance. Become our disciple. Carry our legacy forward into the future."

"Take the powers of life and death..." Yang added, its tone pleading.

"And restore the balance of karma."

Ye Tian couldn’t help but smirk.

’Balance of karma, huh?’

A mischievous thought crossed his mind as he decided to toy with them.

Adopting a frightened expression, he began to stammer.

"W-Who are you? W-What is this place? Where am I?"

Yang’s golden light softened. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"Do not fear, child. We mean you no harm. I am Yang, the light that creates all life and good karma."

"And I am Yin..." the darker entity said, its voice dripping with menace.

"The darkness that brings death and destruction. Together, we are the cycle of existence."

"We’ve been waiting for eons..." Yang continued...

"imprisoned in these forms after our lord disappeared. Without him, we have faded... We are no longer the creators we once were."

"Lord?" Ye Tian raised an eyebrow.

"Who are you talking about?"

The marbles fell silent for a moment before Yang spoke.

"The one we served... Our lord, the Demonic bastard."

"I’d rather forget myself than forget that lunatic..." Yang grumbled, its voice suddenly tinged with annoyance.

"Did he do something bad?" He asked, knowing very well, how great of backbitchers yin and yang were...

Yin let out a sigh.

"You don’t know the half of it... That madman made my existence unbearable. I even considered retiring as the progenitor of death."
