Tower: Rebirth of the Absolute Demon-Chapter 33: Ch : First Trial: Apocalypse, Begins.
Chapter 33: Ch 33: First Trial: Apocalypse, Begins.
---
[1st Trial is Starting.]
[Calculating the number of participants...]
[Number of participants - 7,840,754,908.]
---
The number was mind-numbing. It was as though every living human on the planet had been dragged into this.
From infants in cradles to frail elders on the verge of death...no one was spared.
---
[Numbers far exceed the normal category.]
[Administrators of the trials are debating about the difficulty of the trials.]
---
Ye Tian’s smirk widened as he muttered to himself...
"What are the odds they choose the easiest difficulty? Zero, huh? Yeah, I thought so."
---
[They’ve determined the difficulty to be ’Hell’ Rank.]
---
As the message appeared, Ye Tian broke into laughter.
It wasn’t the kind of laughter that expressed joy or humor... it was the laughter of someone who’d seen the worst and found amusement in humanity’s despair.
"Hahaha! Hell Rank, huh? Classic. Just what I expected from these sadistic bastards."
---
[Because the hardest level of difficulty has been chosen, the course of the trials will change.]
---
"Of course, they’ll make it worse. Predictable, predictable... but hey, I’m not complaining!"
The notifications continued to flood the system windows before every player.
---
[The first trial, Apocalypse, will last for a total of 30 days.]
[Monsters will keep appearing no matter what time it is.]
[Standard rank of monsters will be A-Rank.]
[Dungeons will continue to form everywhere.] frёewebηovel.cѳm
[The drop rates will be decreased by 95%.]
[All players’ skills and levels will be reduced to 0.]
[All equipment outside the trials will cease to exist.]
[Classes will be reduced to none.]
[Survival rate will be decreased to 5%.]
[Consumables will spoil faster than normal.]
[Status effects will deal 100% more damage.]
[Healing skills and effects will be weakened.]
[Safe zones will spawn with the chances of 1 in a hundred.]
[Tower, wishes you all luck!]
---
Billions of participants stared at their screens in silence.
Shock, fear, and despair took hold of the masses as they read through the details of their impending doom.
The idea of survival seemed laughable.
A mere 5% survival rate?
Against A-Rank monsters?
With no equipment or skills?
Most couldn’t even comprehend how they were supposed to last the first hour, let alone thirty days.
The weight of the notifications crushed whatever hope remained in their hearts.
But in one corner of the world, near a cold storage room reeking of medicine, a lone figure was laughing.
"Hahaha!" Ye Tian couldn’t hold it in any longer.
"What a way to flip the bird at humanity. ’Go fuck yourselves, mortals.’ they say! Hah!"
While the rest of the world fell into despair, he found amusement in the absurdity of it all.

{A/N:- a small info dump comin}
Normally, Monsters were divided into ranks...
E-Rank < D-Rank < C-Rank < B-Rank < A-Rank < Boss-Rank < Grand Boss-Rank.
Players had their own hierarchy...
E < D < C < B < A < S.
With monsters set to A-Rank as the standard, Ye Tian understood the implications perfectly.
It took three A-Rank hunters or thirty B-Rank hunters to reliably kill a single A-Rank monster.
The world barely had a few thousand B-Rank players or higher, most of whom were scattered and unprepared.
For the rest of humanity? Survival was a pipe dream.
The world wasn’t just facing an apocalypse... it was facing extinction.
As the clock ticked down, a final system notification appeared...
---
[Monsters are appearing. Brace yourself. Survive.]
---
The words sent shivers down the spines of countless people.
The air grew heavy with dread, an invisible weight that suffocated hope.
Ye Tian, however, remained relaxed, leaning against a wall in the staff lounge.
His calm demeanor was in stark contrast to the chaos erupting in the minds of others.
Suddenly, he felt it.
An enormous surge of mana began gathering nearby, its intensity palpable.
The concentration of energy was overwhelming, pressing down on his senses like a tidal wave.
"No way..." Ye Tian turned his gaze toward the cold storage room.
The door he’d carefully barricaded began to tremble.
The stacked furniture shifted, groaning under the pressure of whatever was behind it.
"Of all the places... You’ve got to be kidding me." He muttered, cursing his luck.
A low growl echoed through the room, a guttural noise that sent vibrations through the walls.
Thump.
The sound of something massive taking a step.
A hand came into view... a green, oversized hand. Its fingers wrapped around the edge of the wall, leaving cracks in the concrete as it gripped.
And then, its face emerged.
Red eyes glowing with malevolence, jagged teeth protruding from its mouth, and a build so massive it barely fit through the doorway.
Its skin was a sickly shade of green, and its muscles rippled with raw power.
A system window popped up...
---
[Monster Name: Orc Warrior.]
[Monster Class: B.]
---
Ye Tian clicked his tongue.
"Well, shit. Looks like the world really wants me dead."
The orc stepped into the room, its full form towering over Ye Tian.
Standing at nearly twelve feet tall, it was a walking mountain of brute strength.
In its right hand, it held a crude yet terrifying weapon... a massive steel rod connected to a spiked iron ball via thick chains.
The weapon dragged along the floor, leaving gouges in the tiles.
Its nose twitched as it sniffed the air, searching for prey.
But the overpowering stench of medicine seemed to agitate it, causing it to snarl in frustration.
Ye Tian observed it closely, his analytical mind already working.
"Orcs... Dumb but deadly. Strong sense of smell, terrible eyesight. Big muscles, small brain. I’ve seen worse."
Despite the daunting opponent in front of him, he smirked.
"Honestly, I might actually win this."
The orc finally locked onto him, its red eyes narrowing as it let out an ear-splitting roar.
The sound reverberated through the building like a thunderclap, shaking the very walls.
Ye Tian, unfazed, calmly picked at his ear.
"Loud, aren’t you? Fine, fine, big guy. Let’s dance."
The orc didn’t wait for an invitation.
With a roar, it raised its spiked weapon high and swung it down with terrifying force.
