Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 72: Number 034
Step. Step. Step.
Through the fence gates, Zylus walked over wooden and mudded terrains, and grass patches were scattered along the edges he walked through.
During this time, the noises coming from the crowd watching inside the stands in the colosseum grew louder. Zylus wore a mask, hiding his identity, now calling himself ’Noelle Crusifix.’
Nobody was around him walking; they were all inside the stadium, and clearly, there was a commentator...
"Getttt ready," the man inside the colosseum rolled his tongue.’ "To rumbleeeeeeeeeeee!"
Zylus now stood just one hundred meters away from the entrance, and he was prepared to go inside through the northern entrance.
A metal gate was installed largely, which almost covered the entire scaling of the width of the stoned arena, with two knightly guards on each side.
They were covered in full metal. Zylus grinned while walking.
"Sorry, sir," one of the guards stabbed their spear into the ground, with authority, "but this is no place for viewers. The actual entrance is all the way around, go and walk there."
Zylus nodded, "But I heard, this is the entrance for criminals."
Both of the guards looked at each other, "Okay?" They asked out loud, "You wanna go watch or just stand here?" They asked aggressively.
Zylus raised both his hands up, clearly in a surrendering fashion, "calm down, fellas," he whispered, "I want to fight for money, just like them."
They laughed, "You look lost." The guard on the right stepped forward, "Leave! We don’t want to get physical."
Zylus grinned under the mask, "How about we make a deal?"
The second guard stepped up, "We don’t make deals here, I said leave-!"
"I’ll give a singular gold coin," Zylus leaned in onto the tip of the spear, "and in return, all you have to do is let me in and fight." He demanded, and the guards lowered their spears.
"How could somebody like you possibly have a gold coin?" The guard defending the right area asked.
Even though they hesitated, they seemed tempted. Even in this world, it’s run by money, by simple currency such as gold, silver, bronze, or copper. Any of those is enough to control somebody’s entire mood for a lifetime, even inside the Demon Realm.
This just proved Zylus’s theory that the currency flows the same here as it did in the human realm. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"Simple," Zylus responded. "You let me in, I fight, and when they come collecting for the money we earn so they can do transactions for us, you can keep my coins, infinitely."
They thought about it at first, but then immediately wondered how he would win that much? Inside this colosseum, all you can really do is win to gain, and somebody who looks as little as possible, compared to the people fighting inside, would resort to an absolute slaughter.
"Allow me to demonstrate my strength," Zylus breathed under the mask, "any of you want to volunteer?"
The one on the left came up, "let’s go." he held out his spear forward, "You’re not allowed to use your Demonic System inside the colosseum, so try me without it." He paused, "If you lose here, you’re getting kicked out."
The guard on the right watched closely, "Start." He commanded elegantly, sneaking a hand into his mask so he could scratch his nose.
Zylus stepped back, then stopped. "This is quick money that I need before tomorrow, so get me in a fight as soon as you can."
It was still daylight, the time was slightly past five in the afternoon, so Zylus had some time on his hands before making his grand escape.
"I’ll show this kid just how much more inferior he is to us knights." The guard circled him, bent over with a spear tightened in both his grips.
"Let me take this off," Zylus quickly ran towards the knight, too quick in fact, "so the damage can be felt."
He gently took the mask off the guard he was fighting, and tucked in deeply, as the knight simply stood there, shocked at what had just happened, in a second time interval.
"So quick..."
Slam!
Zylus slapped him across his face, sending him onto the metal fences’ bars. The echo can be heard through the darkness that poured beyond the gate, very much so. And then, silence.
"W-we h-have a winner!" The guard who watched Zylus’s bout and the comedian inside the arena both said the same sentence at the same time.
Zylus grinned, fixing the position of his mask so it tightened on his loose face.
The other guard stood on the ground, just in front of the gate, covering some holes.
"Open!" He stabbed his spear right onto the ground, as the gates started sliding upwards, the sharp ends hung tightly and menacingly.
"Follow me." He said, starting to lead Zylus to where he would fight.
Zylus gave the guard he defeated one last look of pity, "Never too late to quit, you know?" He asked, but truthfully, it wasn’t a question that could be answered.
...
Through the darkness inside the hallways after entering the gate, jail cells had been scattered on the edges, looking menacingly towards Zylus, who was masked, and the guard, who paid them no heed.
"You gonna take the mask off, or what?" He asked.
"No," Zylus responded, "entertainment purposes only, of course."
The guard started walking to one particular cell at the very right, "I’ll take you back once you get that gold coin, you got it?"
Zylus nodded, "I have a date tomorrow, so get me a fight before then."
The guard pulled out a key, "New applicants already get first, so no worries about that, I’ll just have to register you into the system."
"Thank you."

BRRR.
The noise of that one particular cell unlocking was wicked, in a way that would hurt your sense of ease.
A buffed man inside smiled, with an alcoholic bottle in his hand, "So, you’ve brought me a partner?" He paused, taking a sip, then burping, "a masked weirdo at that."
Zylus bent downwards, greeting, "Nice to meet you." he paused, realizing he hadn’t been given a name yet."
"Don’t bother..." the man smashed his alcohol bottle onto the floor once finished, "names are useless here, might as well go by my code."
"Code?" Zylus asked.
"034." He responded quickly, "Nice to meet you, 100."
