Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All-Chapter 489 - 304: Raising a Few Things (Part 2)
The mother said so, and others stopped saying anything more. They really packed up and walked straight into the city.
So when Xiaomi woke up from her nap, the house was empty again, except for Xiao Hei who was guarding her. Xiao Hei immediately followed behind Xiaomi as soon as she woke up.
Xiaomi casually tossed it a chicken leg, but Xiao Hei caught it and surprisingly didn’t eat it. Instead, it turned and ran off.
Xiaomi didn’t think much and went to the kitchen to find food for herself.
Her mother had left breakfast covered in the pot for her, and it was still warm.
Just as she was about to eat, Xiao Hei came running back, excitedly, carrying its own food bowl in its mouth, with the chicken leg Xiaomi had given it inside.
Xiao Hei placed the bowl at Xiaomi’s feet and raised its head, barking.
"Huh? Xiao Hei, are you trying to say you want to give one to each of your kids?"
"Woof~" Xiao Hei barked excitedly, wagging its tail so fast it almost seemed like it would take off.
Xiaomi: "..."
Although speechless, she added three more chicken legs to Xiao Hei’s bowl, but it was still not satisfied and continued to urge her.
Xiaomi blinked: "Could it be Little Mi as well?"
Just as she was speaking, Little Mi strutted in proudly with a ’meow~’.
Xiao Hei immediately approached Little Mi eagerly, circling around it twice.
Xiaomi burst into laughter: "Xiao Hei, you’re both girls, you know."
She then added another chicken leg, and sure enough, Xiao Hei stopped urging and barked twice at Little Mi.
Then, under Xiaomi’s astonished gaze, Little Mi came over and took a chicken leg, after which Xiao Hei picked up its bowl and dragged it out.
It really dragged it out. Perhaps it was worried too many chicken legs would fall out, so it clamped it tight and dragged it out?
Soon, they heard Xiao Hei’s barking outside, directed toward the door, as if calling for something.
Followed by the sound of a group of little dogs ’woof-woofing’, they came quickly and left quickly.
When Xiaomi went out carrying her porridge, she only caught a glimpse of the last puppy’s butt wiggling out through the dog door.
Looking at Xiao Hei’s bowl again, there was only one chicken leg left, and finally, Xiao Hei started to eat its own share leisurely.
Xiaomi was at a loss for words, not expecting it to know better than to eat alone and help out its kids and friends.
"Really now, some people aren’t as smart as you."
Xiaomi patted Xiao Hei on top of its head. Xiao Hei did not resist, nor did it guard its food.
After eating, Xiaomi cleaned up the dishes and went to check the wild goats brought back last night in the stable.
The two injured wild goats were lying on the ground, with fresh wild grass in front of them. Evidently, someone had fed them before she woke up in the morning.
Besides that, there was washed cloth with bloodstains that hadn’t been completely cleaned, indicating that both goats’ wounds had been re-bandaged with medicine.
Xiaomi wanted to approach, but the goats, as if recognizing her as the one who injured them, immediately responded with frantic ’baa-baa’ calls.
Xiaomi had no choice but to retreat for now. After pondering, she found an old wooden basin.
Despite the goats’ frightened cries, she quickly placed it in front of them and filled it halfway with Spiritual Spring water.
When she came out, Xiaomi couldn’t help rubbing her ears. The noise was just too overwhelming, making her ears ache.
Luckily, once she left, the goats quieted down. Looking back, they were already drinking from the basin.
Xiaomi puckered her lips, though she was a little pleased inside.
Drinking the Spiritual Spring water should speed up their recovery, especially the buck, which she was counting on for breeding more.
Yet, inbreeding among animals could lead to degeneration, so she would need to get more wild goats.
Of course, if they had money, buying some could work too, though Xiaomi felt it was unnecessary.
Seeing as she could catch them, albeit slowly, making a few more trips wouldn’t be a problem. Besides, she almost knew where the goats frequented.
But all of this depended on the two with leg injuries at home recovering first.
She needed to ensure they were well enough, at least to walk normally, before she could continue catching goats.
Watching the goats for a while, she waited until they drank water and ate some grass, seemingly having a good appetite. With this, she was reassured and left them.
She then continued with her daily routine, strolling around the pigsty and chicken coop, filling their troughs with Spiritual Spring water.
Finally, she took her clothes to the pond to wash. While washing, she added some Spiritual Spring water to the pond, letting the current spread it around.
Though a thought crossed her mind, considering it’s autumn harvest time and sowing wouldn’t start for another month, she decided to stop adding more.
Putting the Spiritual Spring water into the village pond later would be better, ready for watering when the rapeseed and wheat are sown.
After washing her clothes leisurely, she returned to practice her Swordsmanship, thinking that the little weed was busy in the morning and couldn’t find her, so she decided to enter the space.
Recently, she entered the space often during her travels. Whenever she was lulled to sleep by the swaying of the carriage, she would slip into the space. When tired, she’d come out to sleep soundly, at least it was stable inside the space.
"Master, you’re back. What do you want to see today?"
As soon as she entered the space, Ling’er summoned a big stack of books.
All sorts of topics were there; clearly, Xiaomi had been reading inside the space often before.
Xiaomi shook her head and with a wave, returned the books to their places.
"Ling’er, is the space running out of empty areas now?"
Since leaving the space management to Ling’er, she seldom worried but still had a general idea of how it was.
"Yes, what does the master want to do? The corn planted last time is about to be harvested, freeing over an acre of space."
"I want to raise some livestock..."
