Transmigrated as an Extra: Awakening of The Ex‐Class'-Chapter 40 : Unexpected encounter
Chapter 40: Chapter 40 : Unexpected encounter
It’s been a few weeks since I started training, and every day it seems like my body is screaming for me to stop. Fatigue has become part of my routine. Classes have become a constant fight against sleep. Sometimes I feel like I’m not even present, just a shadow dragging me from one side to the other, while the teachers, with increasingly severe voices, call me out for my lack of concentration.
The feeling of exhaustion and desperation is more intense than ever. It’s like I’m always fighting on the edge of the abyss, demanding my body, my soul, and above all, my sanity, to keep going. And yet, those small increases in my numbers are still there, a bitter consolation that forces me to get up every morning to go out to the cold training camp and keep pushing.
With a simple command, I opened the system and took a look at my stats:
_________
● <Stats>
- Strength: E [ 11/15 ]
- Agility: E [ 11/15 ]
- Stamina: E [ 12/15 ]
- Magic Power: E [ 13/15 ]

It’s satisfying to see how, despite the exhaustion, I’ve made some progress in this last week, but the fatigue is still there, crushing me inescapably. It’s like the muscles in my entire body are in a deep lethargy, something that neither magic nor potions can cure, only rest could relieve me. Only rest could relieve me, but that seems to always be out of reach.
I stopped looking at the system. Now, there was something more important on my mind. Two days ago, Aliana sent me the invitation for the auction. I had been seriously considering whether or not to attend, given that the day of the test is approaching and I am still leveling up my stats, but there was something strange about the letter, something that made me reconsider. Aliana had included a brand new outfit with the invitation, with a small note that read:
«Please wear this, the other one seemed unsuitable for the occasion.»
It wasn’t the mention of the outfit that threw me off, but the last line attached to the note. That small warning that chilled the blood in my veins:
«A member of the royal family is coming.»
[P.S.: (≈´°ω°’)≈]
The mere thought that royalty would attend this auction made me feel immense pressure, it was something that never happened in the novel, although I was aware that I had altered certain events with the creation of the pill, I didn’t think it would be enough to make them move, that changes everything. My presence at the auction was no longer optional; it was now something much bigger. The risk of offending someone of royalty... I couldn’t afford it. There’s no turning back now. The auction has become much more complicated.
I never thought that this event could turn into something so... dangerous. The royal family rarely deigns to attend these kinds of meetings. Whenever they do show up, it’s because they have a clear objective. Something important was about to happen, and I, as the key figure in this matter, couldn’t afford to miss it.
"Haah..." a long sigh escaped my lips, it seems I’ve gotten involved in another troublesome event.

I decided to end training for today. The exhaustion was evident and the fatigue in my muscles was barely bearable. I was looking forward to being able to lie down somewhere comfortable and rest. As I prepared to leave a sound from the bushes caught my attention.
"Meow"
I stopped, listening. It was a soft meow, almost curious, but clear enough to catch my attention. From between the bushes, a cat with white fur appeared, so pure that it almost glowed under the dim moonlight. His gaze was calm, as if he were watching me with harmless curiosity. He approached me without showing fear, and with an agile movement, he rubbed against my leg.
"Purr" the soft sound of his purrs seeking attention indicated how happy he was. The gesture, although somewhat uncomfortable due to the way his fur rubbed against me, was surprisingly tender.
I crouched down, giving in to the temptation to pet him. The cat, pleased, let me do it, purring more softly than ever, his eyes closing in a clear gesture of satisfaction. Without warning, he jumped gracefully and settled into my arms, curling up there, with a force that knocked my butt to the ground. It was a little uncomfortable but I endured it, the warmth of his small body and the constant sound of his purring gave me a feeling of calm that I hadn’t experienced all day.
Time began to blur as I held him. The gentle breeze rustling the leaves around us became distant and fuzzy. It felt like the world around me was fading away, and for a brief moment, I completely forgot about my worries, the fatigue crushing me, and the urgency of training. There was only the cat and that pleasant feeling of calm, as if the stress of the past few weeks was unimportant. It was such a simple and comforting moment that I didn’t want it to end.
"Her name is Bella," a soft voice said, trying not to disturb. Her whisper broke the silence that enveloped me and pulled me out of my thoughts.
Looking up, I met eyes so deep that I felt my soul being drawn to them. They were a deep red, almost hypnotic, like two rubies shining gracefully in the sunlight. Her eyes were not only beautiful, but there was something mysterious about them, you could see a spark that caused a feeling of unease and fascination instantly. I couldn’t help but be enchanted by her gaze.
Her face was as delicate as it was beautiful, accompanied by an almost harmless smile that adorned her lips, highlighting her long red hair that cascaded messily over her shoulders. Her expression showed concern and relief, as if she had found something she had lost.

Moments before «Amelia’s perspective»
"Where have you gone?" I murmured as I ran like crazy through the halls of the academy. Bella, my little white cat, had disappeared without a trace. I had told her to wait, but now, not finding her, anxiety began to take hold of me. Every corner of the academy seemed like a labyrinth; I don’t know where she could have hidden.
First I checked the small garden near the alchemy laboratory, remembering that she sometimes likes to sleep in that place, but there was no sign of her. "Maybe she’s near the cafeteria, maybe she got hungry," I said to myself as I hurried there. However, as I looked around the empty tables and shadowy corners, my anxiety grew stronger.
Worry tightened in my chest. Where could he be? I thought as I headed to the training grounds, the largest and most deserted place in the academy. I quickly opened the door, and as I walked around, looking around, a peculiar image caught my attention.
Under the gentle care of the moon, illuminated by the silver glow that bathed the place, Cyan was sitting on the floor, surrounded by a shadow of serenity, his usually impassive face lit up with an unexpected warmth, while his fingers delicately caressed Bella, my little white cat resting on his lap.
The air around him, impregnated with a deep and welcoming peace, wove an image so perfect, so full of calm, that I stayed there, motionless, with my soul captivated by the scene, unable to look away from him.
The contrast between his serious face and the tenderness he showed when interacting with Bella was fascinating. Something inside me softened at the scene. The anxiety that had been pressing on my chest faded a little, replaced by a mix of gratitude and confusion. I wasn’t sure why, but seeing him in such a vulnerable way made my heart beat strangely, a fast beat for no apparent reason.
I moved slowly towards them, not wanting to interrupt them, and approached with soft steps. I didn’t know if Cyan had noticed me, but the tranquility of the place seemed to almost captivate me completely. Finally, after a few moments of contemplation, I leaned towards him and whispered with an expression of relief, trying not to disturb him.
"Her name is Bella," I said, a slight smile appearing without me even realizing it. My face relaxed, as if I had finally found what I had been searching for.
I couldn’t think of anything else, the scene reflected in front of me seemed like something out of a fairy tale, the atmosphere that surrounded me made me completely oblivious to the surroundings and I couldn’t think of anything else, only the delicacy with which his hands caressed Bella’s fur, But then, I met his gaze, those blue eyes, so deep, flanked by long eyelashes, that reflected a subtle feeling of sadness almost made me step back thinking that I had made some mistake. Still, I knew I couldn’t give in, I needed to take Bella and get on with my responsibilities.
