Transmigrated as Baron, Married with my Lovely Maid-Chapter 94
’BANG!’
That single handgun shot felt like it changed my world.
I looked around, and the tall wooden bookshelves filled with tomes, as was typical in the library, were gone, replaced by a fairly spacious room devoid of furniture.
It was a vast, hollow space with little light.
I saw only a single chair and the remains of broken chains scattered around it.
On second thought, it seemed like the chair and chains were where Zeraxion was originally sealed—exactly like what I had seen in my brief glimpse when I fought Ulrich.
It turned out the library-like room was just a mere illusion created by Zeraxion.
It seemed the library was a fragment of his memory, and with his time and dimension spells having strengthened since Ulrich’s defeat, he could easily design such illusion.
"Baron Atreus...!"
The soft, familiar female voice sounded about 10 meters behind me.
Her galloping steps and her distinctive voice made me smile because I knew who she was without having to look.
"Leysha...glad to see you here," I said, welcoming her arrival.
Leysha, who arrived beside me, immediately smiled and held my hand.
I wanted to hug her so badly, but unfortunately, my right hand was still busy pointing my handgun at Zeraxion.
Leysha froze in shock when she realized she saw my handgun.
Even though she was from the magical world, it seemed she was starting to understand some of quite dangerous weapons in my world—this handgun was one of them.
"Baron...the Black Star in your hand..."
Leysha pointed to my right palm, which now displayed the Black Star.
Yes, all my memories as Atreus Vermillion returned, including my magical abilities and black magic.
And of course my beautiful memory with Leysha and how intense we make love is playing in my mind clearly.
My body, which had previously resembled that of a 40-year-old man, had now returned to that of a 17-year-old youth, dressed in the noble attire typically worn by nobles in the magical world.
All the exhaustion and fatigue slowly disappeared as Zeraxion’s illusion magic ended.
"Why don’t you kill me, Atreus Vermillion...?"
Zeraxion finally spoke, still bearing the same gunshot wound in his right shoulder, and his body still weakened by the effects of the Great Wyvern’s poison.
My third shot didn’t actually hit his head as I had intended.
I only shot the floor directly next to him, and that shot was more than enough to make Zeraxion tremble in fear, losing his fighting spirit.
"You can kill me in any way, Atreus Vermillion...perhaps with that human weapon in your hand...or perhaps with the dark magic that’s now back in your grasp...take your pick...I admit defeat..."
I didn’t detect any lies or any intention of Zeraxion to manipulate Leysha and me.
The flow of magic in his body was chaotic due to the effects of the Great Wyvern’s poison, making it difficult for him to perform his time and dimension spells.
Killing him would be easy for me now, but I didn’t want that.
I put my handgun back behind my waist and whispered to Leysha:
"...use healing magic to heal the poison and his wounds."
"Yes, Baron Atreus."
Leysha raised a short golden staff with a diamond at the edge, emitting a magical healing glow that slowly stopped Zeraxion’s bleeding.
"...I never thought you’d still forgive me, Atreus Vermillion. You could have just finished me off. Don’t you want a powerful dragon to join you?" Zeraxion asked.
"Zeraxion... your body may resemble a human, and you may not possess the terrifying abilities of giant dragons like King Bahamut or the Great Wyvern... but your Time and Dimension Spell is a dangerous one, capable of defeating even giants if used correctly. I want to form a vow with you. And just so you know, I’ve already defeated you in your strongest illusion magic. I’m damn worthy of becoming your alliance, Zeraxion."
Zeraxion smiled bitterly.
His body still looked weak, but at least his breathing had stabilized, and his gaze was no longer glazed over, like that of a dying man—all thanks to Leysha’s powerful healing magic, which quickly restored his condition.
A few minutes passed, and Zeraxion finally managed to slowly rise, though his body still felt frail.
Seeing Zeraxion—a dragon with a human-like body—who was almost my height was indeed unusual.
"...if you truly wish to form an alliance with me, that means I must be completely free from King Victor Dragomir’s seal."
"Wait a minute...aren’t you free already?" I asked, surprised.
Zeraxion shook his head.
He slowly opened his long coat slightly, revealing the previously invisible magical chains that now revealed themselves.
The magical chains that bound his chest, even piercing his heart.
"This magical seal chain was specially created by King Victor Dragomir as a last resort if I were to break free. He knew how I manipulated people with time and dimension spells, so he used an additional seal to restrain me..."
"Oh... so there’s an additional seal like that. I thought you were completely free when Ulrich was defeated by me. How about I break that magic seal with my magic? I think I can—"
"Wait a moment, Baron Atreus." Leysha suddenly held my hand before I could reach for the invisible magical chain.
"Forgive me if I seem presumptuous... but that special magical seal chain seems to be directly connected to Zeraxion’s heart. I understand you could break that special magical seal chain with your immense magical power, but the consequences would affect Zeraxion’s heart, Baron," Leysha continued explaining.
"Oh... that was close..." I said in surprise.
"As your wife said, this special seal is connected to my heart, Atreus Vermillion. If you break that special seal by force, I will die on the spot. King Victor Dragomir doesn’t want me free because he’s worried about my time and dimension spell. Unless you really want to finish me off that way... I have no other choice," Zeraxion said.
"Don’t sound so gloomy, Zeraxion. I’m sad to hear it. I’ll still make you an ally in the Vermillion army. Regarding your condition... well... is there any other alternative to freeing you?" I asked.
"Your wife has quite powerful healing powers... which I think can be used to remove this special seal without damaging my heart. But there’s a special condition..."
"What condition is that?"
"Her body... and yours... must be accustomed to dragon blood..."
"Dragon blood...?"
I frowned, unable to fathom what he meant by getting used to dragon blood.
"Baron Atreus... Lord Vermillion once told me that a wizard must get used to dragon blood because it has a distinctive dragon scent that allows dragons to easily recognize a wizard. Dragons instinctively accuse anyone other than their own kind as enemy. But anyone with dragon blood, even if they aren’t a dragon, can easily be accepted by the dragons." Leysha helped explain my confusion.
Listening to Leysha’s explanation gave me a bit of insight into this dragon blood thing.
"...where can I get dragon blood, Zeraxion?" I asked.
"In this back room, there’s a special place where you and your wife can enjoy dragon blood," Zeraxion replied, pointing to a room with golden doors at the north end.
To be honest, I’m still confused about what Zeraxion meant by ’enjoying dragon blood.’
What’s so good about that monster’s blood?
Isn’t the smell of blood disgusting?
Especially dragon blood!
But if this is the way I have to go, I can’t turn back.
Ah, I hope Leysha can be patient with any ritual involving dragon blood.
"Then, let my wife and I go there. Leysha, are you ready?" I asked.
"H-huh...?"
Something’s strange.
Even though my question was simple, Leysha’s face flushed red with embarrassment.
She even turned her face away, adjusting her dress and even discreetly adjusting her underwear.
"A-are you serious about the dragon blood ritual with me, Baron Atreus?" Leysha asked shyly, her face still flushed, as if my question was teasing her.
"Yes, of course with me, Leysha. Is there something strange about that?"
"N-no, Baron... m-maybe you don’t know that the dragon blood ritual called Zeraxion is essentially... um... how should I put it..."
"Just tell me straight, Leysha. There’s no need to be shy or embarrassed."
"...like bathing together, Baron Atreus."
"What...?"
