As expected, Ye QiuXue was once again intercepted by Shi Dan after school. But this time, there was something unhinged about him—her words had clearly struck a nerve.

He’d run wild in JingDu for years, true, but even he had people he couldn’t afford to offend.

His grandfather had warned him: steer clear of the other two major families in JingDu. Lately, the Xia family has been added to that list.

At first, Shi Dan hadn’t taken it seriously. In his mind, there was no one in JingDu he couldn’t afford to offend.

That was until he crossed paths with Gu ZhaoChuan. His grandfather had punished him so severely afterward that he wasn’t allowed to leave the house for days.

It sounded minor, but to Shi Dan, it was a clear warning.

He wasn’t completely clueless—after realizing he couldn’t target the Gu family outright, he secretly plotted against Gu YunQin instead. That night, if she’d taken the bait and raced him, Shi Dan had planned a very special surprise for the Gu family.

Unfortunately, some nobody punk had shown up out of nowhere, completely played him for a fool, and humiliated him in front of everyone.

He'd tried to track that guy down, but it was like he’d vanished into thin air.

Shi Dan had been stewing in that frustration ever since.

So when Ye QiuXue dared to speak to him like that this morning, it was the last straw. Naturally, he wasn’t going to let it go.

Now, after school, he’d finally cornered her.

But Ye QiuXue wasn’t reacting the way he’d imagined. There was no fear, no panic. She simply looked at him—calm, unmoved.

Shi Dan found her unbearably irritating. No matter how he looked at her, he couldn’t stand her. She always gave him that "just out of reach" feeling.

And the more unreachable she was, the more he wanted her.

But more than that—he wanted to ruin her.

“Ye QiuXue, do you even know what you’re in for? I’ll give you one chance—get on your knees and apologize. Otherwise, I’ll make tonight a memory you’ll never forget.”

“So this is what you said to those other girls too, huh?” Ye QiuXue’s voice was cold.

She’d heard the stories—Shi Dan’s “heroic deeds”, as some dared call them. His status made it all too easy to silence people. She’d even heard of a girl who tried to take her own life—but the case was buried.

Shi Dan’s arrogance was clear.

“You can take it that way,” he sneered. “And soon, you’ll be one of them.”

“You’re disgusting,” Ye QiuXue said flatly, her expression darkening. “How inhuman do you have to be to say something like that?”

She’d never loathed anyone this much. Shi Dan was the first.

“Oh yeah? Let’s see how long that mouth of yours can stay sharp.” He reached for her face.

But before he could touch her, a sharp pain exploded in his side. His body was lifted clean off the ground and hurled across the pavement, tumbling to a stop several meters away.

His underlings stood frozen, stunned.

A few sharp-eyed bystanders recognized the person who’d struck.

Shi Dan clutched his waist, groaning in pain, but forced his head up to look at the attacker.

The moment he saw the face, blood vessels burst in his eyes.

“You!”

“Yep. Me again,” HuMing said with a grin—one of those annoyingly innocent smiles that practically begged to be punched.

Someone helped Shi Dan to his feet, but the thought that HuMing—HuMing—had just kicked him flying made his blood boil. He shoved his helper aside.

“You really made yourself hard to find. And now you just waltz right up to me?”

“If I hadn’t, I’m guessing you’d never find me,” HuMing said, shaking his head, voice thick with mockery.

Shi Dan blinked, momentarily thrown off.

“Do you even know who I am?”

“The Shi family’s one and only young master. Shi Dan, right?”

“And knowing that, you still dare talk to me like this? How many lives do you think you have to waste?!”

HuMing held up a thumbs-up—then slowly turned it downward and jabbed it toward the ground.

“Even if your dad were here, he wouldn’t dare talk to me like that. You show up with a few goons thinking you can bully people? You really are just another coward hiding behind numbers.”

“F**k it! Beat him down! Anyone who helps me catch him, I’ll pay for all your fun this year!”

Shi Dan couldn’t take it anymore. HuMing’s smug face—he just couldn’t stand it.

No way could anyone outshine him.

He thought with so many people on his side, no matter how good HuMing was, there was no way he could win.

But very quickly, HuMing shattered that belief.

One after another, his goons were taken down. Every strike from HuMing incapacitated someone—and he didn’t even look winded. It was like he wasn’t even trying.

Shi Dan clenched his fists, backing up defensively. HuMing was walking toward him now.

“D-Don’t come any closer! If you lay a finger on me, the Shi family won’t let you off!”

“You’re right. But I’m laying a finger on you anyway—so what?”

A kick sent Shi Dan crashing into the wall. Then HuMing grabbed his head and slammed his knee repeatedly into Shi Dan’s gut.

He’d never felt this kind of agony before. The stabbing pain and nausea overwhelmed him, bile rising uncontrollably.

And he couldn’t even lift his hands to block.

“You think you can just target whoever you want? Looks like you’ve had it too easy in JingDu—you think you’re untouchable, huh?”

HuMing flung him to the ground with a thud.

Shi Dan writhed, clutching his back, howling in pain.

“If the Shi family won’t teach you how to act right… I’ll do it for them.”

HuMing stepped on him, eyes growing colder by the second.

But then—he suddenly looked up.

From around the corner, a calm-looking boy approached them.

Ye QiuXue followed HuMing’s gaze—and her expression shifted slightly.

“Shi Ren?!”

The boy, Shi Ren, walked up to HuMing and spoke in an even tone.

“Let him go. As useless as he is, he’s still a member of the Shi family. If something serious happens here, even the Gu family will have trouble cleaning it up.”

He’d seen straight through HuMing’s identity, which made HuMing raise an eyebrow.

“And you are?”

“Didn’t Ye QiuXue just say it? Shi Ren. As for my background… I guess you could call me half a Shi.”

“You want to save him?”

“If he dies, I will be in a lot of trouble.”

Before the words had even finished echoing, HuMing lashed out with a sweeping kick.

But shockingly, Shi Ren blocked it with a single arm.

And in that moment, HuMing caught a glimpse of a tattoo on Shi Ren’s skin—

It was the mark of Blizzard.
