Transmigrated as the Novel's Final Boss-Chapter 43:Status [2]
Chapter 43: Chapter 43:Status [2]
Her reaction was to be expected.
She had become enlightened while on the brink of dying and being mid-fight with a troll far more powerful than her.
So to see me awaken during a simple game of tag must have been somewhat...hard for her to understand.
Picking up the now blood-stained towel, I turned my head a full 360 degrees, trying to find a trash can.
With only one eye working...for the time being, I now had to turn my head whenever I wanted to look to the right, which was quite often.
Sighing, I looked down at my trusty-black cloak, which was somehow perfectly clean, like the day I had transmigrated.
Yesterday, the blood leaking out of my eye had simply bounced off the cloak, as if it were blood-proof, and fallen to the floor.
Letting a tear drop down my face, I sighed, realizing that the cloak would soon have to go, instead replaced by the Glaive academy uniform.
The cloak was perfect...unstainable, thin, stealthy, and amazing for moving around in.
Although its bagginess was no longer needed, as I could now somewhat conceal my horns, I still preferred the cloak over the tight and restrictive Glaive collared shirt and blazer.
Shaking my head, I stood back and began walking forward, only to be stopped by a sudden voice behind me.
"She’s coming! Hide that."
Confusedly, I stood still for a couple of seconds until finally the sound of footsteps going down the stairs echoed throughout the room.
Usually, I would have noticed another human’s presence as soon as they opened their room door due to the horrible smell...but Evangel’s sweet scent had thrown me off.
Pausing, I imitated a basketball player taking a three-point shot, using my left hand to stabilize the rag while my right pushed it forward.
Then, stepping backward, I jumped into the air, letting the rag fly out of the air and soar in a perfect arc.
However...I was off.
As the rag neared the trash can, a small holographic line appeared below it, leading all the way down to the floor right below the trash can.
However, unlike yesterday, the line...seemed to be uncertain as it would disappear for a moment before appearing in another, changing the predicted destination of the rag.
If my Tempo stat couldn’t even accurately predict the arc of a rag, there was no way I would be able to see and calculate sword attacks any time soon.
*STEP*
*STEP*
As the footsteps got closer and closer to us, I suddenly felt my hair blow backward and off my forehead.
Then, as if she were taking my alley-oop, Evangel’s gust of wind boosted the towel forward, causing it to land perfectly in the trash can.
I swear I could even hear an imaginary *SWISH* sound echo for a moment.
At that moment, a tired and somewhat suspicious voice sounded from my right.
"You two are already up..? Evangel...I didn’t hear you leave your room."
She hadn’t gone back to her room after making me a bed..? Where had they slept then?
Glancing to my left, I saw Evangel simply standing there, seemingly having no excuse.
The ground floor was already mostly cleaned except for one thing..
On the floor, a couple of steps away from Evangel, a bright-red stain lay, the remnants of the fallen mochi from our fight yesterday.
Turning my head so that my left eye could actually see Liana, I simply pointed at Evangel and the stain before saying.
"When I woke up, she was down here, having that for breakfast."
As those words sounded, I felt a gaze, not fueled by any emotion in particular, lock onto me.
Nodding her head, Liana opened her hands, revealing a white-collared shirt, a red blazer, and black formal pants.
How did she know that I hadn’t brought clothes myself!?
Interrupting my thoughts, Liana walked past me and said,
"I’ll go make Evangel breakfast; you change into these."
...the day of reckoning had come sooner than expected.
Pausing for a moment, I considered asking what was wrong with my cloak, but I already knew the answer.
In fact, I could already imagine the lecture Liana would give me if I asked that question.
Looking around, I also noticed that both Liana and Evangel were already in formal wear, having white pants, a white collared shirt, and a red cropped blazer.
As I entered the bathroom on the floor, I was surprised to see not just a toilet, but a shower awaiting me.
Without skipping a beat, I stripped off my cloak and stood under the shower cap, my hand already on the temperature knob.
...
...
...
As steam poured out of the showering area, covering the entire bathroom, I reluctantly emerged from the area, a towel around my waist.
My wet and long amber-brown hair messily lay on my forehead, leaking water out as I stepped forward.
A couple of moments later, a sudden barrage of noises sounded from outside the door.
"I TOLD YOU CHANGE; NOT TAKE A TWENTY MINUTE SHOWER!"
*BANG*
*BANG*
"WE’LL BE LATE; HURRY IT UP!"
Indeed, Liana was a lot like my older sister back on Earth, always complaining about my long showers when she probably spends over an hour a day in the bathroom.
Zoning her out, I slid on my pants before reluctantly buttoning up my collared shirt and straightening out the collar.
My body...felt so restricted.
Unlike with my cloak, I couldn’t extend my arms all the way without feeling my clothes clamp down on my arms and tighten.
Putting on the red blazer, I placed a dry towel on my hair and picked up my folded cloak before opening the door, immediately hearing a chair squeak as someone stood up.
Without even offering me a plate of the delicious breakfast, consisting of bacon, scrambled eggs, and pancakes, Liana immediately walked up to me.
Then, gripping me by the collar, she dragged me to the door, where Evangel stood, a slight smirk on her face.
Dropping me by Evangel, Liana then stared at us for a moment before announcing.
"I’ll clean up here; you two head to the warp gates before they get too crowded."
Turning around, I was about to exit when I suddenly felt my cloak fall out of my hands.
As I turned back, Liana suddenly appeared behind me, the pitch-black cloak in her hands.
Then, with a smile, she said.
"This is insurance. Come visit me at Glaive if you want it back."
