Chapter 84: Chapter 84:Groupings [4]

The first floor was completely empty as most everyone had searched it, and unlike the other floor, it was simple.

The area was completely flat with one stone path leading through a massive patch of grass that covered the entire ground.

Besides the covering, used for those who wanted to escape the sun, there were no structures or trees anywhere. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

I imagined the scenery was beautiful and tranquil, but due to elemental sight, all I saw was a dull grey color.

Elemental particles were scarce here, compared to other floors, as only a few roamed around right below the glass ceiling, which revealed the rainforest environment above.

Thus, it took me less than three minutes to recognize a pattern amongst the fewer than twenty particles on the floor.

An "S" for Snape.

Although the particles moved around, they all had a fixed path, and every thirty seconds, they would all coincidentally be in the same place to form an "S."

The top of the "S" was right below the ceiling, while the bottom barely touched the tip of the covering, which resembled a house with no walls.

Letting out a deep sigh, I walked toward one of the four wooden pillars that held up the covering and hugged it.

Breathing heavily, I slowly pushed myself upward with my legs, wrapping my arms so tightly around the pillar that the entire structure began to shake.

Finally getting my hands on the triangular pyramid-shaped top of the covering, I pulled myself upward.

It seemed I had been wrong.

I had not known the capabilities of the people in the Imperial dorm during the first semester, as the book centered on Evangel, who was in the Worldly dorm during that time.

However, during the second semester, when Evangel had been transferred, they had all been incredibly strong, so I had assumed this challenge would be easy for them.

Yet, for even the greatest talents, elemental sight and mana detection were difficult, it seemed.

As I climbed to the tip of the covering’s roof, a sudden light-blue particle appeared above me, right in the middle of the "S" that the elemental particles formed.

It had not been visible earlier when I entered the floor; Professor Snape had probably imbued the mana with stealth to make sure only those within a certain distance could see it.

Staring upward, I looked at the small, ocean-blue cloud above me; however, at that moment, my eyes caught something else.

Above the mana particle and through the glass floor of the rainforest environment above, a figure looked down at me.

They were close enough to see the particle from there.

She glanced at the mana particle before slowly lowering to gaze and seeing my figure mere inches away from it.

Making eye contact with the figure, I hesitated, and my legs froze, preventing me from jumping upward and grasping the mana particle.

Without a flicker of emotion in her snow-white eyes, Evangel gazed down at me, her entire figure blocking the sun’s rays from reaching me.

Even with the grey filter of elemental sight active, previous images of her deathly-white hair and eyes flooded my brain.

Regaining my composure, I took a deep breath, smirked, and tilted my head before mouthing with a mocking expression.

"Want it?"

Suddenly, her normally calm and tranquil white pupils shook, and her eyebrows rose in offense.

Not even a second later, she extended her palm so that it was facing the glass floor and closed her eyes.

Then...the previously still mana particle above me immediately started ascending, getting closer and closer to the rainforest floor with every second.

... Was she really trying to steal the particle from me!?

At this point, even I jumped upward with all my strength, my hand wouldn’t be able to reach the mana particle, so I reached into my pocket.

Unfortunately, unlike Evangel, I couldn’t command and use my elemental particles outside of my body with my hands or legs.

I needed a channel like my sword to control them once they left the safety of my body.

In my fight with Raven, I had already seen this once.

Although I hadn’t known it at the time, my helplessness during our final confrontation had caused my time elemental particles to subconsciously flock to my arm.

Then, they had flowed out of my hand and into my sword, reaching the blade’s tip, and finally entering the outside world.

That was why the pitch-black void had been created.

Whipping my pen out of my pocket, I simultaneously clicked the top, instantly feeling it grow a hundred times heavier in my hand.

By the time my hand was up in the air, the sword had already fully formed, its tip a bit above the mana particle.

Instantly, I commanded my elemental particles into my sword, which was simply an extension of my body.

As the particles gathered around the sword’s tip, a small pitch-black void suddenly appeared in the space between the particle and the side of my blade.

When my sword moved through the air, it instantly entered the pitch-black void, disappearing and appearing right before the mana particle.

When my blade sliced through the particle, the blue cloud split into two equal halves and immediately recombined before descending back to its original place.

Then, as my sword reached the end of its swing, I immediately pressed the button on its hilt, transforming it back into a pen.

In total, I had held the sword for less than a second.

Without skipping a beat, I leaped into the air and raised my right hand as far up as I could, feeling my shoulder surge with pain.

However, at that moment, a sudden scream sounded from the stairs, surprising me.

"HE’S HERE!"

As my index finger was practically nanocentimeters away from the particle, Zeke, Mira, and an annoyed Liam sprinted toward me.

Even though they didn’t even see the mana particle, my jumping stance was enough for them to be suspicious.
