Chapter 218: Someone Only He Remembers

Rong Xingyu’s bedroom was decorated very warmly.

The overall color scheme of the room was light and simple, but it gave off a feeling much like Rong Xingyu himself, comfortable and soothing.

Ding Yixin’s gaze fell on the bed not far away, where a small mound formed by the blanket rose slightly. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

It moved with faint, barely noticeable rises and falls as the person beneath it breathed.

Ding Yixin’s expression instantly softened.

He shook his head and let out a quiet laugh, then gently pulled the door shut behind him and, by habit, locked it.

Ding Yixin walked toward the bed.

Rong Xingyu lay there with his eyes closed, his hands clenched into small fists as they gripped the blanket, sleeping soundly.

His thick eyelashes trembled lightly from time to time with his breathing, his sleeping face peaceful, like a well-behaved infant.

Ding Yixin could not bear to disturb him, so he sat down on the sofa beside the bed.

He looked at Rong Xingyu’s face, as though he could never get enough of it.

No one knew how much time had passed, until Rong Xingyu’s eyelashes began to tremble again, only this time, the fluttering was more pronounced.

Then Rong Xingyu slowly opened his eyes.

He had not originally planned to fall asleep, but after Rong Zishan stuffed him into the warm, cozy blanket, and with the bed being far too comfortable, things took a different turn.

Even though Rong Xingyu had insisted he was not sleepy, he ended up drifting off just like that without realizing it.

When he finally woke up again, Rong Xingyu opened his bleary, sleep-filled eyes and saw Ding Yixin sitting by the bedside.

His just awakened mind was still a little foggy, and for a moment, he did not quite react.

Rong Xingyu sat up on the bed. He rubbed his eyes, then reached out a hand toward Ding Yixin.

Ding Yixin, meanwhile, very consciously stepped forward and took hold of Rong Xingyu’s fair, soft little hand.

Just like before, Rong Xingyu naturally leaned against Ding Yixin.

He wrapped both arms around Ding Yixin’s waist, his face nuzzling affectionately against Ding Yixin’s chest.

After a while, only once Rong Xingyu had rubbed away the last of his drowsiness did he suddenly realize that Ding Yixin was not wearing loungewear.

Rong Xingyu frowned in confusion. "Did you just get back from outside?"

Clearly, Rong Xingyu thought that Ding Yixin had just returned home after going out and had not even had time to change his clothes yet.

Because he had just woken up, Rong Xingyu’s voice sounded soft and gentle, almost as if he were acting coquettishly toward Ding Yixin.

Ding Yixin did not answer directly. Instead, he raised his hand to touch Rong Xingyu’s hair and laughed softly. "What do you think?"

Rong Xingyu glanced around at his surroundings and finally came fully awake.

Right, this morning, he had gone back to the Rong family home to ask his eldest brother and the others about Rong Zhihao, and he had not asked Ding Yixin to accompany him.

"Why didn’t you wake me?" Thinking about how long Ding Yixin might have been sitting there, Rong Xingyu could not help but complain softly. "If I’d known, I wouldn’t have gone to sleep."

The slightly reproachful look in Rong Xingyu’s eyes was like a tiny brush scratching lightly at Ding Yixin’s heart.

Ding Yixin raised an eyebrow and could not resist deliberately teasing him with words,

"Yuyu looks very cute when he’s sleeping. I ended up watching without realizing it."

Rong Xingyu: "..."

Stop it, Dr. Ding.

"Why did you come here?" Rong Xingyu cleared his throat, trying to gloss over what Ding Yixin had just said. "When did you arrive?"

"Not long ago."

Ding Yixin tapped Rong Xingyu lightly on the tip of the nose with his finger and said, "I missed you, so I came to take you home."

"Didn’t we agree that I’d go back a bit later? Besides, the Ding family has drivers who can take me."

Even as he said this, Rong Xingyu could not stop the corners of his mouth from lifting, and the arms wrapped around Ding Yixin showed no intention of letting go.

The two of them spoke intimately like this for a while.

Only when Rong Xingyu recalled the somewhat abnormal reactions of his eldest and fourth brothers earlier, as well as the matter concerning Rong Zhihao before, did it suddenly come back to him.

Since Ding Yixin was right there, Rong Xingyu directly asked about it.

Unexpectedly, Ding Yixin nodded. "I was actually planning to talk to you about this as well."

Rong Xingyu: "!!!"

Rong Xingyu subconsciously swallowed his saliva and without realizing it, his nerves also tensed up.

Then he heard Ding Yixin continue, "Otherwise, what if your brothers think the pressure from preparing for the wedding lately has been too much and end up opposing our marriage?"

Rong Xingyu: "..."

Rong Xingyu released the hand that had been wrapped around Ding Yixin’s waist.

He pulled slightly away from him and sat up straight again.

Thinking back to Rong Zhenqiao’s and Rong Zishan’s somewhat strange behavior earlier, especially Rong Zishan who kept telling him to rest properly.

So it turned out that his eldest brother and fourth brother thought he had been under so much pressure lately that he was having hallucinations???

Ding Yixin looked at Rong Xingyu whose mouth was slightly open and whose face was full of shock and ultimately chose not to tell him that Rong Zhenqiao had actually suspected that something might be wrong with Rong Xingyu’s mental state and that it would be best for him to go to the hospital for a checkup.

"Then what exactly is going on with Rong Zhihao?" Rong Xingyu looked at Ding Yixin in confusion. "Why does it seem like my brothers don’t remember Rong Zhihao at all?"

Ding Yixin picked up Rong Xingyu’s phone from the cabinet beside him and handed it over.

"In fact, it’s not just your brothers."
