Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 655: The emperor’s shadow.
Chapter 655: The emperor’s shadow.
News of Scarlet’s little blow up made it to the capital rather quickly and it fell within the ears of the emperor twenty minutes after it occurred. Along with the news was a very long rant in form of a voice message sent by Lord Basky, the owner of the building which Scarlet had blown up.
The emperor listened to the complaint, barely hearing the details. He knew that Scarlet would not tolerate the excesses of the Solarians but he had no idea just how far she was going to go to teach them a lesson.
"She is creating trouble already." he muttered.
"Wasn’t that your hope?" Markay asked his father.
Father and son were moving away from the house of ministers. It had been another long day of listening to boring and whiny speeches from most of the noble ministers.
Most of them were now more than humble of course, since the noble house of Godiver had been trimmed of it’s claws successfully by the empress.
"I was hoping she would be lowkey and teach them a thing or two about behavior." The emperor replied sullenly.
Markay sneered lightly at his father and he laughed. That was not the truth at all. What his father wanted was an excuse to send the noble families of Solaris back to their homeland. He sent them to the Blue star with the hopes that Scarlet would deal with them upon her return. She would frustrate them and it would force them to return home finally.
Having too many of them on the Sunstar was not good for politics between the two empires. Those who were here were comparing him to their leader back home which he didn’t like because he was under the assumption that perhaps the empire of the Sun star wanted to use this to undermine him.
The changes on the Lunar federation had many ruling families on different planets uneasy.
Markay knew what his father needed was a shadow to hide behind. "Should I ask her to cause a bigger scene?"
The emperor chuckled and whispered, "Can she?"
"I am sure she would love to." Markay told him.
The emperor then smiled mysteriously and Markay read his father’s face. It was so simple to determine what he needed. It looked he would need his sister-in-law to blow up a few more things and make a few more arrests. As long as her actions were not traced back to the emperor then all was good.
Back on the Blue star, in the meantime, Beord had just followed Scarlet’s wishes and announced the intention of the governor to open up wine country to the public. For this to happen, a lot needed to be done, starting with beefing up the security of the region.
RGB officers were already on ground monitoring the situation because business owners and residents that had permission to live within the town had started moving in rather quickly. They were so well prepared as if they had always been waiting for this day and carried their luggage on their bodies in their storage bracelets.
The empress was set to attend the opening of the city and this time round, as captain Zorl wished, the RGB was filled in on the very new plan.
Captain Zorl had been assigned among those that came over when the explosion happened and he was standing at the sea shore, watching Scarlet on his shield. The footage was being relayed by a drone that was monitoring above the field where she was sitting.
He couldn’t understand what she was up to. She was supposed to be in her office or maybe one of her may castles. Why was she sitting in the middle of a random grape field?
"I can’t believe this. She has been back for less than a day and it’s already chaotic." RGB captain Sully Skye complained.
She was supposed to be in charge of the RGB in the large wine country and yet the governor came over silently and created chaos without so much as a heads up.
Zorl could only pity his fellow captain that had only recently transferred to the Blue star. She was in shock because she was new. With time, she would learn.
"Brace yourself, chaos tends to follow whichever city she lives in. Don’t be surprised when she throws a large party which which will end up with half of the city drunk. You have no idea how much we suffered when she threw a party for her son."
"I have heard a few rumors." Captain Skye told him. "Apparently it was wild."
Zorl recalled what should have been the most scandalous party of the year and he felt hives break out all over his body.
"Wild does not begin to describe it." It was not just wild, it was insane."
Captain Skye was a woman that loved to have fun as much as she loved catching bad guys. She had actually transferred because the Blue star was sort of a Scarlet’s law planet. She gave the officers freedom and there was no lack of action on the planet.
Even though she was trying to stay calm, she longed to shake Zorl like a little doll and get him to spill everything.
She was also trying hard not to show her excitement over Scarlet’s most recent actions. It would have been so cool to see her blow up the building. However, if she acted like a fan, Zorl would frown in disapproval so she had to sound cold and stern.
"So, what should we be expecting tomorrow?" she asked Zorl.
His eyes moved up and he recalled what had happened when The Citadel was opened up to the public. "Noise, press, drama, traffic, probably a few fights, hysteria, drunk driving, public sex...."
Captain Skye tilted her head at the mention of public sex. "Huh!"
"Oh yeah...we had so much of that on that day. People were like animals just going at it anywhere they found. We had to separate men and women after arresting them because they just wanted to keep going. It was a nightmare."
Captain Skye chuckled.
Zorl turned his head to her and he looked at her with displeasure. "This is very serious captain Skye, it’s no laughing matter. I am telling you this so that you can be prepared." He told her gravelly.
Captain Skye cleared her throat and nodded. "Yes, captain Zorl, of course I understand."
Zorl looked back at the grape field and returned to watching Scarlet. Her brother, the minister of defense who should have been at work was was peeling grapes for her while the other, a minister of communication massaged her shoulders.
He could also see the many holograms in front of her. It seemed, she was still talking not just to the empress but many other officers at the same time.
"What is wrong with them?" he muttered. "They can’t draw a line between professional time and sibling time." ƒreewebɳovel.com
This was not the right time to be massaging her shoulders or feeding her grapes.
"She is heavily pregnant, they are just being good brothers." Captain Skye responded, in defense of Scarlet.
"I bet their mother is on one of the calls instructing them to do so." Zorl mumbled.
Captain Skye couldn’t help peeping at her colleague and wondering how much he knew about the personal life of the Su’s. He sure seemed to know quite a lot.
She noticed someone new approaching Scarlet and brought the image closer on her helmet. "Hey, isn’t that your girlfriend?"
