Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 658: New hounds
Chapter 658: New hounds
Much later, with everyone retired for the night, Scarlet finally had the opportunity to meet the new hounds, mighty looking beasts that Severus had spoken so highly of. They teleported into the house straight from the underworld. They were five in number, one for each daughter and all were male, something which Scarlet pondered on.
Was it a personal preference because Severus avoided female hounds like a plague or were they the best?
Another thing she pondered on was their weird physical similarity. What were the odds that all hounds were pure black in color?
Her eyes moved to Severus and they squinted tightly. Actually, they looked like Severus. The resemblance was so uncanny that they could be twins...triplets...well, there were five of them so quintuplets. If you counted Severus, it made them sextuplets, but only in appearance. Unless, they were actually born in the same litter to Ruby.
As she studied them, so did they do the same to her. Every way her head tilted, so did theirs. Their eyes did not for a single second move away from her.
She circled them slowly and they did the same, moving warily like a pack that had prey to pounce on. This movement, to Severus resembled a meeting between dogs in the park. The way they were circling each other, sniffing, sensing, it was all very animal like.
Eventually, Scarlet came to a stop and she sat down. She generally waved her hands over the hounds and said, "So is there a chance that you guys happen to fall between numbers one to thirty?"
Five confused hounds shared looks of confusion.
"He is Severus the thirty first." she pointed to Severus. "You guys sort of look like his clones, with the exception of you."
One of the hounds had a thunder like mark below his right eye.
"It’s not odd for me to assume that you could be his brothers and that one or all of you have a number attached to your names." she explained.
Severus sighed and looked at his brothers, who were his actual brothers but when asked, he always introduced them as his friends.
"You guys should introduce yourselves, highest rank to lowest." he told them.
"Grimm the only." The one with a scar said. He had a deep voice, rough too as if he had sand in his throat when he was talking.
"Zex." The second one said gruffly and then walked away.
"So not much of a talker." Scarlet replied.
"He is the grumpy one." A third hound said. "I am Shadowpaw. It will be my honor and duty to protect my reaper for eternity."
Scarlet gave that one two thumbs’ up. He was nicer than the first two. Her eyes moved to the fourth and what she had noticed so far was that none of them had a number.
"Zana the tenth." This one was not as grumpy as Zex but he was also not sunshine. He was the one that she should have described as not much of a talker.
Scarlet threw her hands in the air and shouted. "Ha! I knew it. One of you had to have a number. Number ten....so cool."
She was happy over such a simple thing that she didn’t notice that the hounds, Grimm especially was looking at her with judgmental red eyes that screamed, ’she is an idiot.’
The last hound howled first, demanding all of their attention. Then he teleported once, showing off unusual yellow energy.
"Blaze the first." In a proud voice, he introduced himself very colorfully.
"He likes the attention." Severus told Scarlet.
She laughed and clapped her hands like an excited child. "Wow, another one with a number. I like your name, Blaze, like a fierce fire. You and I will get along just fine."
Severus was not sure if he liked her blatant interest in Blaze and he frowned. One liked showing his yellow fire and one liked burning and exploding things. If they hung out together too often then one might influence the other the wrong way.
"He is not for you." Severus reminded Scarlet.
She looked down and laughed at her hound. ’Aww, Seby are you jealous?"
Five other hounds looked at Severus weirdly, wondering if they had misheard something.
"Seby." Grimm repeated.
"Shut up." Severus replied unhappily. "And I will rip you apart if I hear about this in the underworld." he threatened.
The other five hounds guffawed which annoyed Severus even more. This is why he didn’t want them here but his father had insisted and when the hound lord wanted something, he got it.
"Time to exchange blood." Severus allowed.
The children and the hounds needed to start their bonding immediately. This would make it easier for Scarlet to keep a track on the hounds as well.
It was an easy thing to do and it was wrapped up quickly. Taking in the blood of five hounds did not even inconvenience Scarlet at all. It wasn’t like the first time, when Severus gave her a drop of his blood. She laughed at herself now when the memory of that pain flashed through her mind.
"Why was it so hard back then?" she asked herself.
Then she sighed and stood up. "Let’s go. I have a husband to hunt down."
The others prepared themselves without making much of a fuss but Blaze howled and teleported around the room like a bunny pumped full of adrenaline. Scarlet suddenly worried about the hyper hound. Now that he was living in the human world, he would have to be a lot more careful.
"You shouldn’t have brought him, he is an idiot." Grimm told Severus.
"Perhaps you should try to disobey the order of the Lord hound and see what happens." Severus replied.
Shadowpaw got between the two and looked from one to the other. "Our duty does not include fighting each other. You two should not fight for dominance in front of the children."
"He is worse than our mother." Zex said with a growl. Shadowpaw was always going on and on about duty which was rather annoying.
"The children haven’t even been born yet. You should relax Shadowpaw, we are out in the world. We are allowed to have fun." Blaze chipped in.
Grimm glared at Severus again.
"Idiot." he whispered harshly.
"You are not going to be your child’s favorite partner if you are grim like your name. Blaze may be a little foolish but he is right. You should relax." Severus advised him.
Scarlet watched the hounds speak, one after the other. It was like watching a family drama with different family members that had unique personalities. She had no idea if the personalities of the hounds matched the personalities of the children but whichever daughter got Blaze was in for an adventure. Whoever got grim.....she shook her head.
"Let’s go." Scarlet told them.
As much as she was enjoying this hound banter, she had a man to find.
She and the hounds teleported to the unknown world and the search for the mecha warriors started. It took them no more than five minutes to locate the group and when they did, there was a different surprise waiting for Scarlet.
