Transmigrating Into a novel as a Rich Second-Generation.-Chapter 34: Sebastian is beat up?!
An hour before the end of the school day, Derek returned with information.
"Boss, I got what you asked for," Derek said quietly, pulling out his phone with notes.
"Go ahead," Sebastian said, closing the book he’d been pretending to read.
"So I talked to a bunch of students, tried to be casual about it, just asking what people thought about different teachers. When I brought up Miss Sloane, everyone had the same kind of reaction."
"Which was?"
"Basically that she’s amazing," Derek said, scrolling through his notes. "Like, obviously everyone mentioned that she’s beautiful, half the guys in school have crushes on her. But beyond that, everyone was really consistent about one thing."
"What?"
"She’s incredibly kind to her students. Like, genuinely cares about their wellbeing. She stays after school regularly to help them with homework, even subjects that aren’t her speciality. She notices when students are struggling, not just academically, but personally, and reaches out to them."
Derek looked up from his phone.
"Several students told me she practically saved their lives. One kid said she helped him deal with bullies by mediating and getting the administration involved. Another girl said Miss Sloane noticed she was going through family problems and spent lunch periods just listening to her talk."
Sebastian listened carefully, his expression neutral but his mind working.
"She’s like... the teacher every student wishes they had," Derek continued. "Approachable, non-judgmental, actually gives a damn. And apparently she volunteers her time a lot, comes in early, stays late, even responds to student emails on weekends."
"Does she have any obvious flaws? Anything controversial?"
Derek shook his head. "Not that I could find. Nobody had a bad word to say about her. The worst thing anyone mentioned was that sometimes she’s too lenient with grading, gives students too many chances to make up work."
"So she’s practically a saint," Sebastian muttered.
"Pretty much, boss. Why? What’s this about?"
Sebastian leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled in front of him.
"Ethan is targeting her. He went to see her during break today, probably playing the struggling student card. And given her personality—kind, nurturing, sympathetic to students in difficult situations—she’s exactly the type to fall for a sob story." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Derek’s eyes widened. "You think he’s trying to... with a teacher?"
"Why not? He failed with Isabelle. Amelia Sloane fits the profile perfectly, beautiful, mature, compassionate. The ’older woman who sees potential in the troubled young man’ but eventually falls in love."
"If he establishes a connection with her, it’ll be much harder to break than with Isabelle. Teacher-student bonds have built-in advantages, regular contact, legitimate reasons to spend time together, power dynamics that work in his favor if he plays the vulnerable card correctly."
Derek looked uncomfortable. "So... what are you going to do, boss? We can’t let that puny kid have her, she is my cr...creative teacher,"
Sebastian was quiet for a moment, his mind already forming several plans.
Option One: Position himself as a better alternative. Become the student who genuinely earns her respect and admiration, pushing Ethan out through sheer superiority. But that would take time, and time was something he might not have.
Option Two: Find leverage. Everyone had secrets, weaknesses, vulnerabilities. Even saints. If he could discover what Miss Sloane truly wanted or needed, he could use that to control the situation. But that was difficult at the current time.
Option Three: Create a scandal. If a teacher-student relationship started to look even remotely inappropriate, the administration would shut it down immediately. But that was nuclear—it could destroy Miss Sloane’s career, and Sebastian wasn’t sure he wanted that kind of collateral damage, at least not yet. It might even help Ethan get closer to her.
As he relieved his options, Sebastian was suddenly inspired by one of Derek’s previous comments. "Derek..."
"Yes, boss?" Derek prompted.
"You said that she helped bullied students? Staying with them, making sure they are safe?"
Derek nodded his head. "Yes."
"Good...Really good. Okay, here is what I want you to do..."

Ethan and Amelia Sloane were making their way out of the academy grounds, walking side by side down the main path.
"As I said, Ethan, just work hard and you will enter the university that you want," Amelia said encouragingly, her warm smile directed at him. "Your recent improvement in my class shows you have the capability. Don’t let temporary setbacks define you."
Ethan nodded, feeling genuine gratitude toward this teacher who actually seemed to care. "Thank you, Miss Sloane. That really means a lot."
Suddenly, they heard commotion, shouts, the sound of running feet, students yelling.
"What’s going on?" Amelia turned, her expression shifting from warmth to concern.
A student came sprinting past them, and Amelia reached out, stopping him by the shoulder. "What’s happening? Why is everyone running?"
The student, breathless and wide-eyed, gasped out: "Sebastian! Sebastian Fairfax is getting beat up by three people in ski masks! It’s happening outside the gate! Nobody’s helping him!"
Amelia’s eyes widened in shock. Although she didn’t have a personal relationship with Sebastian, none of her students were named that, and he wasn’t in any of her classes, he was still a student at this school.
"Call security!" she ordered the student, then immediately took off running toward the gate.
Ethan stood there for a moment, processing what he’d heard.
Sebastian was getting beat up?
A grin spread across his face.
That was great news! Someone was doing what Ethan had secretly wanted to do himself ever since Sebastian started ruining his life.
Curiosity overtook him, and he ran after Miss Sloane, catching up quickly.
"Move! Move out of the way!" Amelia shouted as she pushed through the crowd of students that had gathered near the old gym area.
Most were just watching, phones out, recording but not intervening. Ethan followed in her wake, craning his neck to see what was happening.
In the centre of the crowd, Sebastian Fairfax was surrounded by three figures wearing ski masks. They were delivering punches and kicks towards him.
