Transmigration; Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Uncle-Chapter 295; Lu Yuze & Shuyin 7
"She’s a good girl," Shuyin murmured, already drifting back toward sleep. "She loves you. And apparently, she’s decided she loves me too."
"She does," Lu Yuze confirmed softly. "We both do."
But Shuyin was already asleep again, her breathing evening out into the deep rhythm of much-needed rest.
Lu Yuze held her close, listening to the muffled sounds of children’s footsteps retreating down the corridor, the quiet bustle of the household continuing around them.
Downstairs, a celestial prince waited with dwindling patience.
But up here, in this moment, there was only peace.

Chen Xiao and Yuyan descended the stairs together, their hands linked as they made their way toward the sitting area. Yuyan was chattering quietly about what games they could play next when she suddenly stopped mid-step, her eyes widening.
"What the...?" she breathed, taking in the transformed room.
There was a man seated on one of the couches, a stranger, which was unusual enough given their father’s strict security. But that wasn’t what made her pause.
The couches themselves were completely different. Everything was different.
"Ah Ling!" Yuyan called out, hurrying into the sitting area where the twins were making final adjustments to the furniture placement. "Did you fight with Ah Ying and break things? Why does everything look brand new? What happened to our old furniture?"
Both twins froze for a split second, exchanging quick glances before turning to face her with carefully neutral expressions that were somehow also deeply amused.
"Hehehe... Young Miss..." Ah Ling started, clearly trying not to laugh.
Ah Ying picked up smoothly, "It’s your mama who wanted a change, you know, she said the cream couches aesthetically didn’t fit the sitting area and we needed to change. And your father has to keep her happy you know!"
He said it so casually, as if middle-of-the-morning furniture replacement was a perfectly normal occurrence in their household.
"Oh." Yuyan’s expression immediately shifted from confusion to understanding, then to approval. "Well, if it’s Mom’s request, then of course you should do it. She has to be comfortable here. This is her home, too, now."
She nodded decisively, the matter completely settled in her mind. If her new mother wanted different furniture, then different furniture she would have. Simple as that.
Chen Xiao, still holding Yuyan’s hand, remained quiet beside her, his eyes darting around the transformed room with barely concealed curiosity. He’d only been in this house for a day, and he had no reference for what it had looked like before.
Long Chen, who had been waiting with increasing impatience for the past two hours, lifted his head at the sound of young voices. His sharp eyes tracked the two children as they approached.
So this was Lu Yuze’s daughter from his first marriage, the wife who had died.
The child was striking in a way that made Long Chen pause. Her hair was a brilliant silver-white, cascading down her back like moonlight made solid, and her eyes, when she glanced his direction, were an electric silver that seemed to almost glow in the morning light. Just like her father’s distinctive coloring. Lu Yuze’s blood genes and traits ran strong in her blood.
But her delicate facial features, the elegant bone structure, the ethereal quality to her beauty, those must have come from her mother. Even at twelve, she possessed an otherworldly quality that would make her absolutely stunning when she grew older. She definitely would be a beauty.
Long Chen understood now why the public didn’t know what she looked like. Lu Yuze kept his daughter carefully shielded from media attention, from prying eyes and cameras. Apart from the select few who had actually met her in person, the Yuyan Conglomerate heiress remained a mystery to the outside world. Smart, given how distinctive and memorable her appearance was.
And the boy beside her... that must be the child Kailani had mentioned taking in. There was something careful in the way he held himself, like someone still learning the rules of a new place.
Yuyan seemed to notice their guest then, and her well-bred manners immediately kicked in. She straightened her posture, released Chen Xiao’s hand, and approached the stranger with Chen Xiao following respectfully behind her.
"Hello," she greeted with a polite bow, her voice warm and welcoming despite addressing a complete stranger in her home. "I hope you’ve been served well and taken good care of. I apologize if you’ve been waiting long, our parents are resting due to illness."
Long Chen found himself impressed despite himself. The child had impeccable manners, genuine warmth, and carried herself with a natural grace that spoke of a good upbringing. Lu Yuze had clearly done well with her. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Hello, young one," he responded, offering a slight smile. "Yes, your household staff has been very accommodating. I’m Long Chen, a... friend of your mother’s. And you are?"
"I’m Lu Yuyan," she introduced herself with another small bow. "This is Chen Xiao. He’s staying with us now. A family member now," She gestured to the quiet boy beside her, including him naturally in the conversation. "Are you here to see my mother? She’s not feeling well today, but I’m sure she’ll be happy to know you came to visit."
"I am here to see her, yes," Long Chen confirmed, studying the girl with interest. She spoke of ’her mother’ with such easy affection, as if Shuyin, Kailani, had been her mother for years rather than days. Children were perceptive; they recognized genuine care when they saw it.
"She has a fever," Yuyan explained, her small face showing concern. "But she said she’s fine and just needs more rest. Would you like more tea while you wait? Or something to eat? Cook made fresh pastries this morning."
"I’m fine, thank you," Long Chen said, amused by her hostess instincts. "But tell me, have you lived here long?"
"All my life," Yuyan said proudly. "This is my father’s house, and now it’s my mother’s too. We’re a family now." She said it with such simple conviction, such complete acceptance, that Long Chen felt something twist in his chest.
