Transmigration; Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Uncle-Chapter 320; Lu Yuze & Shuyin 9
Lu Yuze was there immediately, taking Yuyan from her arms. "Are you hurt? Either of you?"
"We’re okay," Yuyan said, though her voice shook. "But Chen Xiao...."
"Shh, it’s alright little one," Lu Yuze soothed, as Shuyin held the sobbing boy close. "You’re safe now."
From around the mansion, Shuyin could hear Ting Fei’s authoritative voice directing the evacuation. "Move! Quickly! Stay together! Ah Ling, get those servants to the front gate! Ah Ying, check the west wing, make sure no one’s left behind!"
Lu Yuze’s security team was operating with military precision, evacuating everyone through multiple exit points.
"Everyone out?" Shuyin called out as Ting Fei appeared around the corner, herding a group of servants.
"Last group clearing the kitchen now, Miss Shuyin," Ting Fei reported, his face grim as he took in the creatures visible through the mansion windows. "What are those things?"
"Nothing you want to get close to," Shuyin said. "Get everyone to the front gate. No one goes back inside for any reason."
"Understood." Li Feng barked orders into his radio, coordinating with Ah Ling and Ah Ying.
Chen Xiao was still crying, his small body trembling. Shuyin smoothed his hair, murmuring softly, "You’re safe, sweetheart. I won’t let anything hurt you."
But she could see more creatures emerging from the mansion, testing the exterior walls now that the sun had fully set. They didn’t have much time.
"I need to seal it," she said abruptly. "Ting Fei, get everyone to the vehicles. We’re leaving."
"Leaving?" Lu Yuze’s eyes widened. "Shuyin, you can barely stand....."
"I can seal the mansion, and then we’re going to the Lin estate." Her voice was firm despite her exhaustion. "Tonight. Now. I’m not waiting another day."
Lu Yuze studied her face, seeing the determination there. "Because if these things tracked you here..."
"They could track me again," Shuyin finished. "Better to finish what I started with the Lin family while I still can. While I still have enough magic to protect us if needed."
A creature broke through a first-floor window, its body slithering down the exterior wall.
"Decision time," Shuyin said. "Trust me?"
"Always," Lu Yuze said. He turned to Ting Fei. "You heard her. Get everyone in the vehicles. We leave in fifteen minutes."
"Make it ten," Shuyin corrected. She handed Chen Xiao to Yuyan, though the boy whimpered at being separated from her. "Stay with your sister. I’ll be right back."
"Mama Shuyin, no!" Chen Xiao’s voice rose in panic.
"Hey, hey," Shuyin cupped his tear-stained face. "Remember what I promised you when I brought you home?"
The little boy hiccupped. "That... that you’d never leave me."
"And I’m not leaving you now. I’m just going to lock the bad things inside so they can’t follow us. Then we’re all going on a trip together. All of us. Okay?"
Chen Xiao nodded shakily, still clutching Yuyan’s hand.
Shuyin straightened, facing the mansion. The creatures were emerging in greater numbers now, sensing their prey was escaping.
She raised her hands, beginning to weave the sealing spell. Her magic was depleted, running on fumes, but she pulled from deeper reserves, her life force, her very essence.
"By celestial seal and mortal binding," she intoned, her voice gaining strength as the spell took shape. Silver light began to emanate from her hands, spreading outward in geometric patterns.
The creatures sensed what was happening and surged forward, desperate to stop her.
Lu Yuze moved to intercept, candlestick raised, but Shuyin’s magic was faster.
"Stay!" she commanded, and the spell snapped into place.
A barrier of silver light erupted around the entire mansion, sealing every entrance, every window, every crack. The creatures hurled themselves against it, shrieking in fury, but the seal held.
Shuyin swayed.
Lu Yuze caught her before she could fall, his arm around her waist. "I’ve got you."
"Everyone... out?" she managed, her vision graying at the edges.
"Everyone’s out," he confirmed. "Ting Fei’s final count, all staff accounted for. You did it."
"Good." Shuyin’s legs buckled, but Lu Yuze held her upright. "Then... we go."
"Shuyin, you need to rest...."
"No time." She forced herself to straighten, though she had to lean heavily on him. "If I rest, I’ll be out for hours. We need to move while the seal is fresh, while I can still reinforce it if needed."
She looked at the mansion, the home she’d made with Lu Yuze, now infested with monsters drawn by her own magic. The sitting room where she’d healed her mother this morning, the bedroom where they’d confessed their love, the east wing where they’d nearly died.
All of it compromised. All of it is dangerous.
"The Lin estate," she said quietly. "We finish this tonight. I exact my revenge, and then..." She paused. "Then we figure out what comes next."
Lu Yuze studied her face, seeing the exhaustion, the determination, the fear she wouldn’t voice. "You’re sure about this?"
"No," Shuyin admitted. "But I’m doing it anyway."
He almost smiled at that. "Alright. But you’re riding in the car with me, and you’re sleeping the whole way there."
"Can’t argue with that," Shuyin muttered.
Ting Fei appeared, slightly out of breath. "All personnel loaded in vehicles. Four cars total. Ah Ling is driving the lead vehicle, Ah Ying is in the rear for security. We’re ready to move on your command, sir." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"The children?" Lu Yuze asked.
"With Yuyan in the third car, along with two staff members to keep them comfortable."
"Good." Lu Yuze adjusted his grip on Shuyin, taking more of her weight. "Let’s go."
They made their way to the second vehicle, a reinforced sedan that served as Lu Yuze’s personal transport. Ting Fei held the door open as Lu Yuze carefully settled Shuyin in the back seat.
She immediately curled into the corner, her body finally allowing itself to acknowledge the exhaustion. Through the window, she could see the mansion, the silver seal still glowing faintly in the darkness.
"Will it hold?" Lu Yuze asked as he slid in beside her.
