Transmigration:The Villain Wants A Happy End Without His BeastHusbands-Chapter 107: His Chance At Happiness
Panic flashed across Mu Yi’s face as the phoenix crashed into him.
A vivid red force-field shield erupted around him in an attempt to block the attack, but the phoenix tore straight through it.
The impact blasted Mu Yi backward, sending him flying across the street and straight into a row of houses. The buildings shattered as he slammed through them, rubble collapsing on top of him.
The phoenix circled once before returning to Ningyan, hovering protectively in front of him as its massive wings beat against the night air.
Ningyan’s eyes glowed the same brilliant white-gold as the phoenix’s.
Both moved in perfect synchronization.
The fiery creature was not separate from him. It was his astral projection, formed from his own qi and beast soul.
Months of relentless training had led to this moment.
Every day he had forced his body to synchronize more deeply with his qi, strengthening himself through meditation and endless practice in the spirit pool.
Now he had reached the fifth stage of cultivation. Ascended Beast.
His beast soul and qi were finally in harmony.
His senses were sharper than ever, and he could even shift fully into his beast form if necessary. He had avoided doing so until now, fearing discovery.
But that caution no longer mattered.
The phoenix screeched once before dissolving into a stream of white-gold flames that flowed back into Ningyan’s body.
The glow around him intensified.
His presence surged outward, suppressing the corrupted energy that filled the air.
Ningyan slowly walked toward the pile of rubble.
Suddenly the debris began to tremble.
He stopped. His expression didn’t change.
The rubble exploded apart.
Mu Yi burst out from the wreckage.
He looked far worse than before. His clothes were shredded, and the flesh along his left arm had been badly burned, steam rising from the wounds.
But his right hand still gripped his sword tightly.
The blade crackled with violent energy.
Red veins pulsed along the steel as black mist wrapped around it, the two forces twisting together until the weapon radiated a dark crimson aura.
The same energy reflected in Mu Yi’s eyes.
He laughed and spat blood onto the ground before stepping forward.
Despite the damage he had taken from a single strike, his posture remained strong.
"How dare you!" Mu Yi snarled. "It’s my fault for being so careless. I almost forgot I’m here to kill you."
He raised the sword and pointed it directly at Ningyan.
His feline eyes turned wild.
Suddenly red vein-like lines spread across his body, pulsing beneath his skin just like Mei Ren’s back at the Celestial Beast Academy when she attacked Ningyan.
The corrupted energy around him surged violently.
In an instant, Mu Yi lunged forward.
The force of his charge cracked the ground beneath his feet as he raced toward Ningyan, swinging his sword directly at his head.
Ningyan barely avoided the strike.
The blade cut through the air where his neck had been a heartbeat earlier.
One small mistake and his head would have been gone.
Mu Yi’s eyes burned with madness as he stared at him.
Before he could swing again, Ningyan blasted him backward with a surge of white-gold energy.
The moment Mu Yi stumbled, Ningyan leapt forward. He grabbed Mu Yi by the head and slammed him violently into the ground.
The impact shook the earth, sending dust and debris rolling across the bodies scattered around them.
Ningyan was furious.
This bastard had destroyed his peace.
And he would never forgive that.
Mu Yi looked shocked by the sheer strength of the blow. He quickly raised his sword to strike back.
But Ningyan stepped on his wrist, pinning it down.
With a swift twist of his agile body, he ripped the sword from Mu Yi’s hand.
Just like when he had grabbed Mei Ren’s spear back at the academy, the moment Ningyan touched the blade, a wave of red corruption crawled out of the weapon and rushed up his arm.
Ningyan gasped and immediately flung the sword away.
"Hahaha!" Mu Yi burst into wild laughter beneath him.
"Are you afraid of power?" he taunted.
"You’re already strong. Imagine how powerful you could become if you embraced this glorious path!"
His claws shot upward toward Ningyan’s face.
But Ningyan was faster.
He bent backward, narrowly dodging the attack.
Mu Yi rolled away and sprang to his feet, snarling as dark energy gathered around his body.
The glow thickened until it swallowed his form.
In the next moment, Mu Yi transformed.
A massive, heavily muscled jaguar stood where he had been, its eyes glowing with savage hunger. Despite the injuries he had suffered in human form, the beast looked completely unharmed.
The jaguar immediately lunged toward Ningyan.
But Ningyan had already jumped into the air.
White-gold energy pulsed around his body like a heartbeat.
The wave of power pushed the charging jaguar backward before it could tear into him.
Then the glowing aura around Ningyan stretched outward. Splitting into dozens of radiant arrows that shot toward Mu Yi.
But suddenly, the sword Ningyan had thrown away earlier flew back through the air.
It stopped in front of Mu Yi, forming a pulsing red shield.
Every arrow struck the barrier and vanished, absorbed by the cursed blade.
Ningyan narrowed his eyes. I need to destroy that sword.
At that moment, Mu Yi shifted back into human form. His body was still wounded, but with the sword once again in his hand, his confidence had clearly returned.
Meanwhile, Ningyan hovered in the air like an enraged phoenix.
White-gold energy surrounded him, his robes and glowing hair swaying in the night wind as his power burned around him.
Mu Yi looked up at him, a proud smile spreading across his face.
His chest rose and fell heavily as the sword in his hand pulsed with power. Red veins spread across his body, glowing beneath his skin like burning cracks.
Ningyan gritted his teeth.
"I don’t see any reason to be amused, Mu Yi," he said coldly, resentment dripping from every word.
Mu Yi chuckled. "Oh, there are many reasons to be amused, Su Ningyan."
He lifted his sword slightly. "You are formidable. Very, very formidable."
His smile slowly disappeared.
His feline eyes sharpened, filling with murderous intent as his clawed hand tightened around the weapon.
"I am in the Saint Beast stage of cultivation. I wield demon qi and a demon tool."
His voice dropped into a low snarl. "And yet you managed to injure me so badly."
He tilted his head. "Now it’s your turn."
His lips curled into a cruel grin. "I’m going to pluck out your wings... slowly."
The sword swung.
Violent waves of crimson energy tore through the air, rushing straight toward Ningyan.
Ningyan was already tired of hearing him speak.
The sheer arrogance after destroying his chance at happiness!
Suddenly, a sharp pain stabbed into Ningyan’s chest.
His body stiffened.
The white-gold aura surrounding him flickered.
Then it shifted.
The light around his body turned blue, and the glow in his eyes followed.
Ningyan felt as if something inside him was being drained away.
The first slash struck him.
The force blasted him out of the air and slammed him into the ground. The earth cracked beneath his back from the impact.
But the pain in his chest was worse.
Much worse.
He pressed a hand against his chest, struggling to breathe.
Turning his head, his gaze landed on the small, lifeless body of a child lying beside him.
His eyes widened as panic rushed through him.
Then, a grave frown carved his face deeply as rage followed.
