Transmigration:The Villain Wants A Happy End Without His BeastHusbands-Chapter 129: It’s Inside Him
Lan Shiyu scoffed at Ningyan’s words, disbelief and irritation clear on his face. The hazel in his serpent eyes bled into a deep, ominous red as demonic energy burst from his body.
"Who do you think you are?"
Ningyan grimaced, but before he could respond, Lan Meishan’s emerald eyes ignited with cold fury.
Beside him, Yan Wuhen’s nine tails unfurled, stretching behind him like blazing crimson flames.
For a brief, absurd moment, Ningyan felt like some prized beauty in a cheap romance drama who had two powerful men ready to tear the world apart over him.
...It was annoyingly satisfying.
Lan Shiyu noticed it too.
His expression tightened as he took in their protective stances. He exhaled slowly, restraining himself. Fighting both of them head-on would not end well.
"Let’s not make this ugly," he said instead, forcing a pleasant smile. "Come with me. You can bring your husband as well."
Ningyan snorted.
Before anyone could reply, a heavy, suffocating pressure flooded the air.
Ningyan’s chest seized.
His breath hitched as a sharp pulse slammed into him from within, like something responding to the energy around them.
He clutched his chest, gasping.
"Ningyan?" Lan Meishan gripped his shoulder immediately.
"What’s wrong, Yan’er?" Yan Wuhen asked, voice low and dangerous.
"I’m fine," Ningyan forced out.
He wasn’t.
They were no longer alone.
Twelve figures emerged from the shadows, surrounding them in a loose circle.
Each carried a weapon pulsing with dark, unstable energy.
Demon tools.
Their eyes glowed red. Their smiles were feral.
One stepped forward. A dragon beastwoman, spear in hand, its design eerily similar to the one used by Mei Ren.
"Madam Qin didn’t mention there would be this many divine beast princes present," she said, gaze sweeping across Meishan, Wuhen... and briefly, Lan Shiyu.
Lan Shiyu’s expression darkened, clearly irritated at being ignored.
The woman continued, unfazed. "Regardless... hand over Su Nianci, Su Ningyan."
Ningyan let out a dry scoff, slowly releasing his hold on Meishan’s arm.
"So this is her answer?" he said. "She didn’t lift the bounty... she sent more dogs instead?"
The assassins exchanged glances.
Some hesitated, their eyes lingering on Wuhen and Meishan.
Others looked almost eager. Like they wanted to test themselves against them.
Lan Shiyu, meanwhile, studied his brother in silence, his gaze lingering on the way Meishan stood slightly in front of Ningyan. He was possessive. Protective.
His lips twitched.
Then, a red portal opened beneath his feet.
"I’ll deal with you later, brother," he muttered.
And just like that, he was gone.
The moment he disappeared, all at once, the assassins moved.
They struck from every direction, blades, spears, and demon tools flashing with vicious intent.
Ningyan stood at the center.
And the moment they closed in, Lan Meishan and Yan Wuhen moved in sync.
An enormous translucent serpent burst from behind Meishan, its emerald body slamming into two assassins mid-air. Bones shattered on impact.
Before their bodies even hit the ground, Meishan stepped forward, calm, precise.
Another serpent manifested.
It coiled around a fleeing beastman and crushed him instantly, tearing him apart before dissolving into light.
Behind him, another attacker.
The serpent struck first. Ripping him open from the inside.
Meishan didn’t even turn. Every movement was controlled. Efficient. Ruthless.
Nothing reached Ningyan.
On the other side, Yan Wuhen was laughing.
Not loudly. But enough.
Five bodies already lay at his feet.
He tore the heart from another assassin with practiced ease, blood dripping down his fingers as the corpse collapsed.
Then, he turned.
"Yan’er," he called lightly.
Ningyan looked up and froze.
Wuhen was holding the heart up... like a gift.
His smile was bright. Twisted. Beautiful.
Ningyan’s breath caught.
These assassins were not weak.
They were at least at Mu Yi’s level. And yet, they were being slaughtered. Effortlessly.
So this is what pure strength and protection looks like... Ningyan felt it in his chest.
Excitement. Relief. Something dangerously close to admiration and pride.
Wuhen dropped the heart carelessly and walked toward him.
"Look at me," he said softly, eyes gleaming.
He reached out. Bloody hands aiming for Ningyan’s face but a silver whip snapped through the air. It wrapped tightly around his wrist. Stopping him cold.
Wuhen’s expression darkened instantly. "What the hell—"
Ningyan blinked, startled, then laughed under his breath.
Of course.
A sharp familiar presence settled over the battlefield.
The whip dissolved. And Rong Yue stepped forward, golden hair catching the light, blue feline eyes steady.
"You shouldn’t touch him with bloodied hands, Wuhen," he said calmly.
Wuhen glanced down at his fingers. "...Oh."
Lan Meishan returned to Ningyan’s side, his aura settling as the last corpse hit the ground. "Rong Yue."
"Lan Meishan." Rong Yue’s gaze shifted to Ningyan.
But Ningyan wasn’t looking at him.
He felt it again. That pulse deep in his chest calling to him.
His eyes flicked to one of the fallen demon tools.
The crystal wanted to devour it. Oh no.
He stepped back quickly, masking it before anyone noticed. Then turned and lifted Su Nianci into his arms.
"I’ll take her back to her mother," he said coldly.
Wuhen frowned immediately. "Yan’er, I don’t think—"
"I gave her a choice." Ningyan snapped, his eyes darkening. "I told her to dissolve the bounty and she sent assassins instead."
He gritted his teeth, tightening his grip on Su Nianci. "So I’m very sure, that it is only fair that I kill her... and everyone else trying to kill me."
For a brief moment, silence fell.
Then, a burst of blinding light erupted from his back.
Two massive phoenix wings unfurled. White, pure and radiant, layered with gold beneath each feather, shimmering like molten sunlight.
The air trembled as his wings beat once, twice. Wind and dust exploded outward.
And then, he rose. With Su Nianci still in his arms, he shot into the sky, vanishing into the night like a falling star in reverse.
Yan Wuhen, Lan Meishan, and Rong Yue stood below, watching. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
He was gone. Just like that.
Lan Meishan exhaled sharply, an emerald portal already forming beneath his feet. "I’m going after him."
"Wait." Rong Yue’s voice cut through the air.
The portal flickered. Paused.
Lan Meishan turned. "What?"
Rong Yue scoffed, disbelief clear in his expression. "You didn’t notice?"
Yan Wuhen’s ears twitched. "Notice what?"
Rong Yue’s blue feline eyes sharpened. "The dragon crystal."
Silence.
"It’s inside him."
Everything stilled.
Yan Wuhen’s pupils constricted. "The dragon crystal...?"
Lan Meishan’s expression changed instantly, shock flashing through his usually controlled gaze.
The portal beneath him flared violently. And the next second, he was also gone.
Rong Yue exhaled, rubbing his temple. "How did none of you notice?"
Yan Wuhen turned to him slowly, eyes narrowing. "You’re here for it, aren’t you... Yue’er?"
