Trapped as an NPC in a Dating Sim-Chapter 54: Blitzkrieg!
"So what do you think? Are you okay with my plan?"
Soren asked after explaining his plan to his team members, only to be met with silence.
"..."
For a moment, everyone looked at him as if he were crazy.
"S-Soren... isn’t this too dangerous?"
At last, Sylvia couldn’t help but gulp, feeling that he was too bold.
In a dungeon where hunters should be focused on defense to save their lives, Soren was thinking of diving straight into the army head-on.
Of course, she was afraid.
"Of course, it is dangerous. That is why I asked whether you guys believe in me. Don’t worry, as long as I am there, I won’t let anyone get hurt badly."
He promised and was not surprised that they were conflicted. But if they wanted to conquer this Graythorn Outpost, that too fast, there was no other choice.
"Okay then... let’s do what you say. I have no objection."
After a brief silence, Evan spoke while readying his sword, placing a hand on Soren’s shoulder to show his trust.
"Count me in, too."
"Me too."
Aurelia and Aria spoke together, not backing out.
As for Sylvia, she was the most protected teammate in this plan. She could not complain even if she wanted to.
"Great... then, let us follow the plan. Take these potions with you first. Remember my instructions."
"The moment the fight starts, you cannot rest, not even for a second. No matter what happens, stay in formation. I will make sure to keep you safe."
Soren warned them before giving each member the potions he had bought beforehand.
Due to his unique nature, he had made it a habit to buy lots of potions before any dungeon raid. It seemed it came in handy at this time, too.
*Roar!*
Just as Soren handed out the large number of potions he had bought, a deafening roar echoed across the barren wasteland, sending chills down the spine.
It seemed that while they were still planning, the monsters’ army had already closed in; they could now see the horde clearly.
At first, Soren spotted goblins, around a hundred of them, their sharp knives glinting from afar, faces twisted with bloodthirsty anticipation as they charged ahead.
But they were merely the vanguard, subordinates to the massive orcs lumbering just behind.
Compared to the goblins, the orcs were towering, their muscles bulging beneath battered armor, wielding jagged axes and spiked clubs that seemed capable of crushing bone with a single swing.
Their numbers totaled around thirty, but Soren’s eagle eyes immediately spotted something far more dangerous: among them, a few radiated an aura so immense that no one would dare approach.
Graythorn Heavy Warrior and Graythorn Berserker.
They were the commanders of this entire army, their presence alone striking fear into anyone who stood before them.
The Heavy Warrior’s hammer glinted with lethal precision, each step shaking the ground like a thunderclap.
Beside him, the Berserker’s wild hair whipped in the wind, eyes blazing with unrestrained fury, axes swinging in anticipation of carnage.
---
[A small platoon of the Graythorn Orc Tribe has arrived near your location.]
[You are now within the range of the Graythorn war formation.]
[Because your team is outside the human ruins, all members have been affected by the debuff: Warfetter.]
[All team members’ stamina has been reduced by 50%, and mental power reduced by 25%. All forms of regeneration will now take longer.]
---
Along with the monsters’ arrival came the sound of the ’Voice of the World’, heralding the start of the battle.
Normally, in this kind of dungeon, the number of hunters would be larger, and they would take advantage of the countless ruins scattered across the wasteland for defense.
If Soren’s team had also been utilizing such ruins, they would not have been hit by Warfetter, losing their stats so suddenly.
---
[Your team member Sylvia has used her S-rank skill: Purification!]
[The debuff from the Graythorn war formation has been completely nullified.]
---
But such a low-level debuff was nothing to them, as Sylvia immediately nullified it before they could even feel the weakness.
"Okay, according to the plan, I’ll attack first. Evan, get ready."
Soren spoke solemnly, and before they could reply, he suddenly soared into the air, a beautiful crimson wing sprouting from his back.
In no time at all, he was in the sky, directly above the huge army of monsters, packed to the brim. From above, it looked like a swarm of ants rapidly advancing toward them with deadly intent.
No wonder this was a survival-type dungeon. Fighting head-on could kill any team instantly.
’Then, let’s first quell their numbers and carve out a safe area for my team, shall we?’
Soren showed no fear. Rather, he quickly drew his C-rank bow and nocked an arrow midair.
Then, he gave his system a cold order, his aim locked on the army below:
’System, use the GAP stat on my skill: Artemis Grace.’
The moment he gave the order, his system responded promptly.
---
Ding!
[You have chosen to utilize your stat: GAP!]
[You have 1 GAP point.]
[You used your GAP Stat on your active skill.]
[Congratulations! The skill, Artemis Grace (S-rank), has been evolved by one level into Helios Piercer (SS-rank)]
---
*Swoosh!*
The moment the system responded, Soren felt an immense surge of mana leave his body, focusing entirely on his arrow.
Then, even the bow in his hand began to tremble violently, as if it couldn’t bear the weight of the skill he was about to unleash.
"Hey, what is that?"
But how could it when Soren was attempting to use an SS-rank skill with a C-rank bow?
Even nerfed, the power was still enough to make his bow shake loudly, threatening to break under the strain.
Helios Piercer, the name truly lived up to itself as the arrow on Soren’s bow began to glow brilliantly.
Unlike Artemis Grace, this light was anything but gentle or graceful.
In an instant, the glow intensified, so blinding it was as if a sun had awoken in the gray, lifeless sky for the first time.
The radiance was so overwhelming that even the army below paused, staring up in stunned disbelief and awe at the absurd spectacle above.
"Shoot!"
But their awe turned to terror the moment Soren released his arrow.
The radiant sun looked beautiful hanging in the sky, but when it plummeted toward them with the force of a meteor, it became a nightmare.
"Roar!"
Even before the arrow reached them, the monsters felt a heat so intense it would have made the wasteland itself seem mild.
The goblins, the arrow’s first targets, trembled in the face of death, letting out desperate, anxious cries.
But the arrow was already upon them, sudden and unstoppable.
They had no choice but to embrace the blazing sun Soren hurled at them.
*Boom!*
The scene was catastrophic as none of the goblins even managed a scream before the blinding arrow obliterated them entirely.
Yet the arrow didn’t stop. It surged forward through the army, carving a narrow, empty path straight toward one of the troop commanders: the Graythorn Berserker.
*Roar!*
*Boom!*
The unrelenting arrow pierced through the angry Berserker’s axe and drove into his chest, leaving him behind before decimating a few orcs nearby.
Only a small hole marked his chest, showing the beating heart inside, already beginning to stop, sizzling with heat as if cooked from within.
*Thud!*
True to its power, the Berserker stood no chance. He fell to the ground, utterly defeated.
Such was the fate of an E-rank monster in the face of an SS-rank strike, a marvel of piercing power.
"..."
The battle hadn’t even started, and Soren had already killed one of the leaders, decimating a third of the troops in the process.
For a moment, a thunderous silence cloaked the entire wasteland.
"Evan, now!"
Only Soren’s shout echoed before the dashing figure of the swordsman sprinted toward the enemy army, gleaming blade in hand.
Following him were the stone golems and the vines sprouting from the ground, trapping the disoriented monsters.
*Swoosh!*
Then came the crimson flame, flaring right after, reducing whatever remained of the goblins to cinders.
With the starting arrow cast, it was now time for his teammates to eliminate the remaining monsters.
There could be no pause, not even for a moment, until the last one was killed, just as Soren had planned.
A lightning war, focused on speed, surprise, and overwhelming force.
It was a Blitzkrieg.
