Trapped In A Marriage I Never Wanted-Chapter 228: Little Angel
Victoria finally gave birth to her baby girl safely after a long wait. She named her baby girl Claudine Edelina. She’s now one month old, but Victoria is still overwhelmed by her fussy baby, who struggles to sleep most nights.
Even though her baby was always a nuisance, she still loved her precious baby dearly. She had painstakingly cared for her throughout the months of pregnancy. Furthermore, giving birth to a healthy baby was a miracle for her.
Since giving birth, she has been temporarily barred from work. As usual, Matthias has been a protective husband and father. Her cousins have been taking care of her work until she can return to work.
Today they attended their friend’s wedding. After a long wait, this moment had finally arrived. Sawyer and Jennifer were next to them. So, what would happen to their child if they were to attend their friend’s wedding? Lucretia, of course, would be helping guard Claudine.
The wedding ceremony was a joyous affair. Victoria wept with emotion as she witnessed the ceremony, which was just as beautiful as the previous one. Her husband spontaneously wiped her cheek with a handkerchief.
"It’s your friend who’s getting married. Why are you the one crying?"
Victoria smiled brightly at her husband. "Because I remember our wedding. I want to go back to that time. Our wedding ceremony is too sweet and I will never forget it until now."
"Then, I will hold our wedding party a second time."
"Why are you so enthusiastic about doing the same thing? You had to do it three times just to propose."
"Because I would love to propose to you and marry you."
Her lips landed on her husband’s cheek. "You don’t have to bother throwing me a wedding anymore. Now that we have a child, I don’t want to bother you anymore."
"Taking care of our daughter all day is tiring you out." A mischievous smile graced his handsome face. "Okay, in return, I’ll take care of Claudine every day, even on weekdays."
"If you have to work and meet with business partners, you should just focus on work. Don’t worry about me, I’m used to taking care of our child."
Victoria had noticed that the couple continued to display anxious expressions. She worried that Ansel and Laura’s relationship wouldn’t progress simply because Ansel wasn’t ready for marriage, and that Laura was already starting to feel disappointed in her boyfriend. Was it time for her to push the couple to get married?
She looked anxiously at Laura, who continued to force a smile. "By the way, why have you been so quiet all this time?"
Laura wiped her eyelids. "I’m just happy that our friend is finally getting married."
"After this, do you want to go somewhere with me?"
"Where do you want to take me?"
"I want to eat our favorite ice cream."
"But, will Matthias allow you to go with me?"
Matthias put his arm around his wife’s shoulders haughtily. "If my wife wants to go with you, I won’t stop her. Besides, didn’t you once say that women’s matters should be discussed between women?"
Laura folded her arms. "It’s unusual for you to be so nice to me all of a sudden."
"Do you really like me being cold to you? You’d better not refuse my wife’s invitation, rather than have me suddenly change my mind."
Victoria pinched her husband’s arm with a pout. "Can you be less mean to your best friend? It’ll just make her even more scared!"
"Isn’t it good? So that she doesn’t dare to take me away from you again."

After attending Sawyer and Jennifer’s wedding, Laura and Victoria now visit their favorite ice cream shop since they first became friends. They share similar tastes, so it’s no wonder their friendship has always been strong.
Now it’s time for Victoria to become Laura’s confidante. She doesn’t want Laura to keep her worries bottled up, even though Laura has been so helpful.
"Laura, you should be honest with me. What really happened to you and Ansel?"
Laura took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. "Although our relationship seems fine, it seems like he’s starting to lose interest in me."
Victoria rolled her eyes. "Did he want to break up all of a sudden?"
"No. But I’m confused about what he’s thinking. He always says he’ll marry me, but in reality, he doesn’t seem to want to. I envy you and Jennifer for living happily."
"Laura, I’m sure Ansel still needs time to think. This is all my fault, leaving him traumatized by the thought of proposing to a woman. I shouldn’t have betrayed him."
"If you hadn’t betrayed him, would you have lived happily with him? I’m sure you wouldn’t be able to continue smiling like now."
Victoria patted her best friend’s shoulder with both hands. "You don’t need to worry. I know Ansel very well. He’s not the type of man to cheat on his girlfriend. I’m sure he wants to marry you, because I can see it with my own eyes. He loves you sincerely."
"But, what if your guess is wrong?"
"I’ll bet."
drrt...drrt...
Suddenly, her phone vibrated in her bag. Laura took a moment to answer her boyfriend’s call.
"Ansel, what’s the matter with you calling me all of a sudden?"
"Are you going to stay with Victoria until the evening?"
"No. What’s wrong?"
"I want to take you somewhere."
"Of course I can. After I finish talking with Victoria, I’ll go to your house."
The phone call ended abruptly. Her cheeks flushed as her lover’s overly gentle tone made her heart race. For some reason, she had a feeling that their date tonight would be even more special than usual.
Victoria laughed awkwardly, looking at her blushing friend. "I told you earlier. Ansel must still love you very much."
"But, I feel like there’s something strange about him. He suddenly asked me out even though we go out every day."
"Ansel must know what you’re thinking right now. He feels guilty for making you sad."
"Even though I didn’t scold him openly, he shouldn’t have to feel guilty towards me."
"I suggest you talk to him immediately before any misunderstanding occurs."
