Trapped in the Beastworld Breeder System (BL)-Chapter 54: Wolf’s Mandate
As Lucien left the room, Areis remained seated for a moment, a faint smile lingering on his lips in quiet oblivion. The room felt oddly peaceful after everything that had happened. Then, after gathering his resolve, he pushed himself up from the bed.
His body wobbled immediately.
Instinctively, he reached out and grabbed the edge of the bed, his knees bending as they brushed against the mattress. For a second, he thought he might fall, but then he steadied himself, inhaled slowly, and rose again. This time, it was better.
The sensation was foreign to him. After all, he hadn’t walked properly for nearly three months. His muscles protested, weak and unfamiliar, but with every small movement, he felt himself improving. He took his first step. Then another. And by the time he reached the mirror across the room, beads of sweat had already formed along his forehead and trickled down his temples.
Standing before the mirror, Areis froze.
He was so stunned that he nearly collapsed again, but his grip on the vanity was firm enough to keep him upright. His body didn’t fall, but his jaw did.
Staring back at him was someone he was certain he had never seen in all his twenty-one years of existence.
The figure reflected in the glass was slender, almost fragile like someone the wind itself could knock over if it wished. Curly silver hair framed his face, cascading softly toward his neck, and beneath it were wide, silver, puppy-like eyes that shimmered faintly even in the still light of the room. His skin was pale, almost milky, which made sense considering he had been confined indoors for weeks on end.
Areis exhaled slowly.
This new appearance... it was beautiful in a strange way, though clearly malnourished. That, at least, didn’t bother him too much. What unsettled him was the change itself—his hair and eyes had never been like this before.
Confused, he frowned at his reflection.
"So..." he muttered, "when did this happen?"
There was only one entity that could answer that question, and it should have shown up long ago.
"System," Areis called out, irritation slipping into his voice. "Are you there, or were you unconscious too?"
A familiar chime echoed in his mind.
[I thought Host would never wake up and I’d be forced into a long-term hiatus instead of this short one. You certainly took your time enjoying that soft bed.]
The system’s tone was as snarky as ever, and Areis couldn’t help but chuckle.
[Welcome back, Host. I missed you.]
"I missed your greedy self too," Areis replied dryly, "but that’s not the issue right now."
[Yes, yes, I know. You have many questions.]
"Many is an understatement," he said. "Why do I have silver hair and silver eyes? I almost died. What happened? And what about the mission?"
[First of all, Host, calm down.]
[You have been unconscious for approximately three months. During that period, this system also entered dormancy, so I will require a brief reboot.]
[Also, I advise Host to sit down. The incoming information may cause dizziness, and given your current physical state, falling and cracking your head could send you into another year-long sleep.]
"...I feel like you’re cursing me," Areis muttered as he carefully lowered himself onto the nearest chair. "Fine. I’m seated."
[Good.]
[System rebooting...]
[Loading information...]
[Ding!]
[Mission Passed and Completed — Prevent the Death of a Beastlord.]
Areis straightened.
[Hidden Reward detected.]
[Explanation: Host was informed that failure would result in a restart, and thus no reward was initially disclosed. However, due to exceptional interference with fate, a hidden reward has been generated.]
[Reward Unlocked.]
[Wolf’s Mandate.]
The words glowed faintly before him.
[Wolf’s Mandate — Silver Eyes of Dominion.]
[Description: Host’s silver eyes are no longer purely cosmetic. They grant enhanced perception beyond normal physical limits.]
[Effects:] – Host’s vision is sharpened far beyond beast-level sight.
– Host can perceive emotional intent, fluctuations in hostility, and instability within a target’s aura.
– When Host is calm, focused, and willing to expend Celestial Energy (CE), the eyes may grant brief glimpses into imminent future outcomes.]
[Warning: Foresight consumes an extremely high amount of CE and can only be used when Host’s mental state is stable.]
Areis blinked.
"...That’s insane."
[Second Reward Unlocked.]
[Silver Wolf Hair — Living Armament.] 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
[Description: Host’s silver hair is a mutable, weaponized extension of his body.]
[Effects:] – Hair can be hardened, elongated, or sharpened at will.
– Can be used to whip, slash, bind, restrain, pierce, or shield.
– Hair responds instinctively during combat, protecting vital areas even without conscious command.]
[Additional Note: Weaponization consumes CE proportionally to size, density, and duration of use.]
Areis stared blankly ahead.
"Wow..." he muttered. "I’m impressed. You actually did something good this time. Though, somehow, you’re still greedy since everything requires CE."
[Host, do you realize that you are the greedy one? Expecting such abilities for free is unrealistic.]
[Additional Update: Host has gained 500 CE.]
[CE Bar is currently full.]
[Host is approaching a level-up threshold.]
[If Host successfully stabilizes the first kingdom by restoring peace and balance, the system will undergo an upgrade, unlocking expanded missions, increased CE capacity, and advanced functions.]
"...Alright. Thank you," Areis said sincerely.
Then he paused.
"Actually," he added, "show me my World Peace statistics."
[Understood.]
[Note: During the completion of the previous mission, World Peace temporarily decreased. However, as of today, it has begun to rise.]
"What do you mean?" Areis asked, confused. "Completing the mission should’ve increased it, not lowered it."
[Host should remember that the World Peace Meter is influenced directly by Beastlords’ Fury and Love values.]
[At mission completion:
– Second Prince was confused and angry.
– Third Prince was agitated and conflicted.
– Warlord was extremely enraged.]
[This caused a significant drop in World Peace.]
"...Wow," Areis muttered.
He frowned when he noticed unfamiliar names.
"Why are the third prince and this warlord even affecting the meter?"
[They are Beastlords Host will inevitably interact with in the World Kingdom. Raising their meters is mandatory.]
"...Alright. But you said peace has improved today. Why?"
[Upon waking, Host reconciled with the Second Prince. His understanding of Host’s actions stabilized his emotions.]
[Lucien — Second Prince:]
– Love Meter: 80/100
– Fury Meter: 20/100
[Only slight progress remains before full alignment.]
"Oh... I think I get it now," Areis said slowly. "What about the other two?"
[Warlord Tha:]
– Initial Love: 20
– Initial Fury: 0
[After mission:]
– Love remains at 20
– Fury increased to 80
"...What the hell is going on in his head?" Areis muttered. "What did I even do to him?"
[That is for Host to discover.]
[Lord Kenzie:]
– Initial Fury: 100
– Initial Love: 0
[Current Status:]
– Fury: 60
– Love: 40
[Conclusion: He has developed conflicted feelings toward Host.]
"...Wow."
[Current World Peace Overview:]
[Territories in Progress: Two]
[Tiger Territory:]
Tiger King —
Fury: 50
Love: 50
[Wolf Territory:]
Lucien, Second Prince —
Fury: 20/100
Love: 80/100
Kenzie, Third Prince —
Fury: 60/100
Love: 40/100
Warlord Tha —
Fury: 80/100
Love: 20/100
[World Peace Meter: 8.5 / 100]
[There are four major territories affecting World Peace: Wolf, Tiger, Serpent, and Fox.]
[Additional territories exist but will remain irrelevant until future progression.]
Areis leaned back in his chair, exhaling slowly.
"...This world is insane."
And somehow, he had become one of its most dangerous variables.
