Trials of the Abyss-Chapter 693: The Celestial Phoenix in the Seventh World
Chapter 693: The Celestial Phoenix in the Seventh World
The envoy of the Nether Abyss withdrew into Pan Di's skeletal remains.
He had revealed himself and bowed to that Sovereign out of respect.
The show of respect was not only because the other party was one of the four Sovereigns, but also because the God of Fate treated all beings equally. The God of Fate did not even target Nether Gods like him, regardless of whether the other Outer Gods labeled them as evil.
Pang Jian was shocked. "One of the Sovereigns?"
"Indeed. Your friend is incredibly fortunate to have gained the favor of the God of Fate," the envoy said with a mix of admiration and envy. "Rest assured, the two high-ranking Gods from the Ghost and Demon Races won't dare to lay a hand on her.
"There are many powerful beings within the bizarre mist, but all of them revere the God of Fate. They won't harm your friend as long as she remains under the God of Fate's protection.
"The same holds true not only in the bizarre mist but also in the starry skies.
"The God of Fate commands the respect of all beings, be they Gods or mortals. He does not favor any particular race, nor does he deliberately target anyone. He treats the human race the same way. He only favors those who, like him, are naturally gifted with the Dao of Fate."
With that, the envoy turned to speed through the bizarre mist, motioning for Pang Jian to follow.
Pang Jian did not hesitate to transform into a streak of prismatic light after him. As they moved, he casually asked, "What about the Sovereign born of the Celestial Race?"
"Sovereign Luo has always been prejudiced against the human race." The envoy of the Nether Abyss chuckled darkly. "When the Hall of Gods was destroyed, she was the most enraged among the Sovereigns.
"Over the years, she's personally hunted down and killed six or seven True Gods of the human race. You'd better pray that you never encounter her outside the Abyss, because if you do, you're as good as dead.
"Sovereign Luo holds the title of the God of Light, but her actions have always been ruthless. Many of us Nether Gods have perished at her hands as well.
"Pang Jian, you..." The envoy's head twisted slightly, glimpsing Pang Jian's strange expression. "You...haven't had contact with her, have you?"
"She has a physical body in the Abyss," Pang Jian replied.
The ghostly blue flames deep within Pan Di's eye sockets flared with a hiss and exploded.
"Then I'm afraid your human race in the Abyss is doomed," the envoy exclaimed in shock. "There's almost certainly no future for any of you, except maybe for that girl just now.
"Sovereign Luo will likely show her mercy out of respect for the God of Fate, but the same cannot be said for the rest of the human race. She's truly terrifying, to have managed to create a physical body in the Abyss."
The Nether Abyss envoy sighed.
"Our leader probably learned about this. It's likely why he wishes to meet you."
"Sovereign Luo..." Pang Jian muttered softly. "From what I know, doesn't she have six Divine Personas?"
"Yes. She was born of the Celestial Race and initially walked the path of the Dao of Light. Later, she also delved into the Dao of Darkness. After that, she mastered both the Dao of Death and Life, as well as the Dao of Fire and Cold, forging Divine Personas for each. She's a true prodigy, one of the brightest figures in the starry skies, with both unparalleled wisdom and strength."
The Daos of Light and Darkness, Death and Life, Fire and Cold. She had fused Heavenly Daos that were in the opposite nature into one, elevating her to become one of the Sovereigns.
Hearing the envoy's praise, Pang Jian could easily imagine the unimaginable power that Luo Hongyan wielded. freewebnoveℓ.com
"Are there beings above Sovereigns?" Pang Jian asked.
After a moment of thought, the envoy explained, "Yes, they're known as God Kings. Unfortunately, the position of God King has remained vacant for a long time. The strongest beings in the starry skies at this time are the four Sovereigns. The previous God King vanished so long ago that no one knows whether they're still alive."
Pang Jian was startled. "Vanished?"
"Yes."
The envoy of the Nether Abyss continued to patiently answer Pang Jian's questions as they sped through the bizarre mist.

In the Seventh World of the Abyss, Pang Jian's physical body drifted aimlessly until he suddenly caught a glimpse of light.
That light illuminated the darkness, surprisingly dispelling it instead of being devoured.
As the radiance spread outward, a dense aura of death accompanied it, alongside waves of biting cold.
The three distinct energies of light, death, and cold were intertwined.
Death and cold followed the light in driving away the darkness, until eventually, a colossal figure was gradually revealed before Pang Jian. It was a massive Black Empyrean Phoenix.
Its form slowly emerged under the spreading light, wings stretched wide in the void like two vast continents. Its body radiated magnificence and nobility, while its head hung low, as if gazing down into the darkness below.
It was perfectly fused with the darkness of the Seventh World. An aura of destruction, ruin, and brutality surged deep within its wings and body. The various murky energies of the Fifth World all seemed to originate from this creature.
The black turtle, Black Dragon King, the ancient Thunder Dragon, and the ancient Fey Race seemed to pale in size compared to this Black Empyrean Phoenix. Even from a great distance, Pang Jian felt insignificant. He was dwarfed both in stature and power.
After his many experiences with the Outer Gods, Pang Jian instantly knew on sight that this elegant Black Empyrean Phoenix was no low-ranking God. This was a phoenix that shattered his understanding.
Could it be the Celestial Phoenix?
Pang Jian dismissed the thought almost as quickly as it appeared.
The Celestial Phoenix, the previous leader of the ancient Fey Race, wielded the Dao of Light at its core. This phoenix was black, its aura steeped in darkness. It was as though the darkness of the Seventh World was somehow tied to this Black Empyrean Phoenix.
Although the Celestial Phoenix was also a Fey God, it had never left the Abyss. Its power could never reach such unity with heaven and earth.
While the Black Empyrean Phoenix before him radiated a terrifying aura, there was not the slightest ripple of soul fluctuation. It was likely dead.
Qi Xu's figure appeared in the distance as the expanding area of light continued to stretch outward.
Her face was filled with terror. When she spotted Pang Jian, she desperately flew toward him. Above her head, an enormous demonic figure was trying to merge with her body.
"Pang Jian, you actually dared to come down here."
The Primordial Demon's voice filled the entire region, echoing from within the demonic figure, from inside Qi Xu, and even from the corpse of the Black Empyrean Phoenix.
The greenish-black demonic figure above Qi Xu's head seemed to take on the visage of the handsome Primordial Demon.
"Since you made the effort to come here, I'll give you the pleasure of dying here as well," the Primordial Demon said with a smile. "That Black Dragon didn't follow you down?"
At that moment, Pang Jian sensed the Black Dragon King.
The Black Dragon King had also descended into the Seventh World!
