Tribe Conquest: Harem starts in a tribe!-Chapter 19: Blatant attack!
The cool breeze flowed in the forest, making the leaves rustle. It was afternoon, the sun shining brightly in the azure sky. The sunlight scattered into the forest through the gaps in leaves.
The same scattered sunlight fell on the spot where Buan, Sira, and the four spirit warriors were currently standing.
Buan was looking at the ground with a lowered gaze, his posture submissive to avoid offending the four warriors.
Sira was currently trying to have a conversation with their captain when suddenly, Buan heard a furious yell, the voice belonging undoubtedly to the captain.
"How dare you look down on us? Do you think we are beneath a cripple like you?"
Buan could feel his gaze and know that he was saying these words to him, even though his head was lowered.
Buan suddenly raised his head to look at the captain and to try to calm him down, however, the only thing he noticed was an evil smile as the captain ordered his subordinates:
"Go and beat that scoundrel!"
Buan’s eyes widened incredulously as the corner of his mouth twitched: ’What the actual fuck?...’
"Let’s show this cripple what happens when you disrespect honorable warriors like us!" The captain yelled, riling up his subordinates’ morale.
"Yeah!!" The three subordinate warriors shouted excitedly in unison as they each took a step forward towards Buan with an evil glee on their faces.
Sira looked at this scene with wide eyes, unable to believe their shamelessness. She immediately dashed to the front of Buan to protect him. She took out her daggers from the leather straps on her lower thighs before wielding them without any effort.
Her elder sister was the only master of daggers in the Vila tribe, and as her younger sister, she was also proficient in them. She was not even close to her sister’s level, however, it was enough to label her as the top brass amongst the 2-star spirit warriors of the tribe.
"Stop if you know what’s good for you." Sira warned in a cold voice, her gaze shooting daggers at them. "If you harm me, my sister won’t let any of you off the hook. I can still let this go if you turn back. Don’t force me to inform my sister of this incident."
The three warriors instantly stopped in their tracks, the cold image of Sira’s elder sister flashing through their minds.
Immediately, they turned their heads towards the captain and asked anxiously.
"Captain. What should we do?"
"Commander Xira will kill us if we harm her sister."
"Yeah, everyone knows how much she adores her."
Xira was one of the commanders of the Vila Tribe’s army. She might not be the strongest, but she was the most ruthless among them all.
It was because of this fact that Sira could be so optimistic about settling this matter with simple conversation.
However, the captain seemed to have different intentions as he scoffed: "Don’t be afraid. Commander Xira cannot even compare to our backer. Just proceed and take care of this. Leave the worries to our backer."
The three warriors hesitated for only a second before turning their heads back toward Sira and Buan. Their gaze flickered with sinister intentions as they approached them with heavy steps.
Suddenly Sira understood the severity of the situation. Her sister’s name couldn’t compare to the Vice-patriarch, and she had forgotten that. She had been naive to believe that conversation could solve problems.
"Sira, let’s just run." Buan said in a hurried tone.
However, the three warriors were already upon them by then.
Two warriors lunged at Sira while wielding metallic clubs, their spirit tattoos glowing crimson as they activated them. Strength flowed into their arms, enhancing their already great strength.
While the third warrior targeted Buan, trying to circle around Sira and attack him directly from the side.
Sira, however, wasn’t a novice. She was trained in daggers and speed. She didn’t pursue strength like the majority; instead, she pursued speed and technique.
She could kill these 1-star warriors if she wanted to; however, killing a fellow tribesman was a crime punishable by death.
Because of this reason, she had to hold back and only aim for non-vital areas.
She activated her spirit tattoo, her tattoo glowing with a blue shine, displaying that it belonged to the speed type.
Suddenly, the enemies in front of her appeared slower. She handled both daggers in her hands with fine precision, her wrists twisting to point the daggers at their targets.
With a swift movement, she sprinted forward at the lunging warriors and thrusted her daggers into their lower forearms, the clubs in their hands suddenly falling out of their hands involuntarily.
The pain struck them like a jolt of lightning as Sira pulled out the daggers before retreating instantly. She was like a cat that struck with its paw in one second and retreated in the other.
"Argh!" The warriors let out a muffled cry as they gripped their bloodied forearms in hopes of suppressing the flowing blood.
"Tsk. Useless fools." The captain cursed under his breath.
He had come after Buan, thinking that he was alone in the forest right now; thus, he only brought these weak 1-star subordinates.
If he had known that Sira was also present, he would’ve asked one of his 2-star friends for help.
Before the captain even blinked, Sira was already dashing towards the third warrior who tried to circle around her to target Buan.
The warrior suddenly appeared frightened, taking a step back to defend.
’Woah.’
Buan commented in awe of Sira’s speed. She was like a ninja, moving at high speeds and striking with precision. This was the first time Buan was seeing her fight, and suddenly, he saw her in a new light.
’Do we really need to run? Sira seems to be more than capable enough to handle them.’
Buan wondered internally, questioning if fighting was the right choice in the current scenario. After all, the spell had given the mission to either escape or fight; thus, fighting could be a better option.
At this moment, the captain began moving, jumping towards Sira as if he had springs in his legs, his spirit tattoos glowing crimson.
"Argh!" The warrior who had circled around them was already bleeding as Sira pulled out her dagger and returned to the front of Buan to protect him.
Bang!
The captain landed in front of Sira, just a few meters away from her.
Next, he glanced at the bleeding warriors with disdain and ordered. "You target Buan. I will keep her busy."
The warriors suddenly revealed relieved expressions and nodded in agreement. They picked up their metallic clubs, their spirit tattoos glowing as they began to circle around Sira to target Buan.
Sira revealed a tense expression upon seeing this, her gaze flickering towards the closest warrior.
Then she suddenly moved, however, before she could travel more than two meters, the captain shot himself towards her with an explosive lunge, displaying his incredible lower strength.
He was suddenly upon her, about to collide, however, Sira twisted her body at the last second, jumping back to avoid his charge.
’I can’t just keep standing still. I need to do something.’ Buan’s mind raced in a hurry.
His grip tightened on the bow in his hands as he immediately nocked an arrow on the bowstring and pulled with all his strength.
His target wasn’t the warriors targeting him, instead, he pointed the arrow towards the captain.
He was aware that slowing down the captain was their only hope to escape this dire situation.
However, the three warriors had already finished surrounding Buan as one of them lunged at him.
Buan stood still, calmly aiming at the captain, who was swinging his heavy club at Sira while Sira kept dodging at the last moments.
Buan let out a slow breath, gazing at the captain’s chest through the metallic tip of the arrow, the bow screeching in his hand, the tension in the string, more than enough to slice Buan’s finger if released carelessly.
Just at this moment, Buan felt a burst of air on the right side of his face.
Without letting go of the arrow, he tilted his head and body to the left, a club swinging by just above his head, making his hair flutter from the wind resulted from the swing.
At the same time, in that bent posture, Buan kept his aim steady, and with a calm movement, he released his grip on the arrow.
Whoosh!
The arrow shot forward like a bullet shot from a gun, swirling as it cut through the air like a drill, and in the breath of a second, it struck the captain straight in the chest despite his constant movement while fighting Sira.
The arrowhead pierced the captain’s chest, digging deep into his flesh; however, due to the toughness of a 2-star warrior’s skin, the arrow stopped only after a few inches in his body.
"Argh!" The captain groaned in agony, stepping back due to the force of the arrow and the surprise pain it brought him.
