Triiffic-Soul: Can I Be In Control?-Chapter 155 – Recovery?
Chapter 155 – Recovery?
[Ah… well, this got a whole lot more complicated.] (Syrus)
[You don’t say…] (Luna)
[I am missing something?] (Eva)
With the facts laid out in front of them, there was an opportunity clearly visible in front of them. Syrus and Luna understood the option immediately, but it took Eva a few seconds to catch on. Due to being the only one who had no healing abilities, she had no reference to the impact of the healing provided by what they assumed were the crystals, and so assumed that the healing–like all other methods of magical or potion healing–wouldn’t be effective on their body. Though after processing the other two’s reactions, she understood there was something to gain from this form of healing.
Syrus asked, “Is it possible to be hit by the light even when not the victor? I got some injuries that I would like to patch up.”
Velelenra's wings fluttered for a moment. “No. Such a situation has happened before, but that was at the permission of someone who is not currently here, and they were unjustly injured from a previous conflict, so no one complained.”
“I thought demons didn’t mind fighting dirty.”
“Any form of fighting is fair game, but that wasn’t fighting.” Vel replied, “And since you are human, with no prior experience here, there is no way you will be allowed to breathe in the true light.”
“Hmm, fair enough.” Said Syrus. She continued to look at the demons in the arena. The fighting had stopped as everyone's wounds got patched up. Some came together to laugh, while others praised or insulted each other; it was still a chaotic scene even without fights going on.
[Any suggestions?] (Syrus)
[Still processing the situation.] (Luna)
[Can these crystals… really heal us?] (Eva)
[Based on the impact of the ambient energy, there has been no negative reaction with our body.] Luna explained, [So far it has truly just healed us.]
[No negative impact at all?] (Eva)
[Apparently, I ain’t got any idea how it is the case, though.] (Syrus)
[Hmm… well, it is likely a potent source of life energy, which is different enough from mana despite being created from it. We have consumed potions whose whole purpose was to fill us with life energy.] (Eva)
[Like the vitalizer?] (Syrus)
[Yes.] (Eva)
[But even that has its limits. What if we get overburdened again?] (Luna)
[That… would be bad, but I can only trust your two’s judgment on the effects of the energy.] Eva had felt Luna using Moonlight and the effects it had on their body, and the same for Syrus’ Blood healing, but there was still a divide. She felt them using their mana, but they had a much deeper understanding of the mana and healing. That had a whole life of experience ahead of her when it came to the healing arts, and both had learned specifically about healing the body. Eva was taught about biology, but that was only on a general level, while Luna was taught how to properly heal, and Syrus studied her own body deeply, using her blood as a guide to gain a perfect understanding of how to utilise her body.
Eva was learning, especially with the limitations of Manipulation, which allowed her to study the body with mana on her own without asking for Syrus to do it with Blood, and Morph, which created physical changes in the body. She was a sponge for knowledge, but that knowledge hadn’t reached the level of her sisters in the areas they specialised in.
[It is complicated… Our muscles don’t feel overburdened by energy in the atmosphere. If anything, it is flowing in smoothly. even with the damage we already had, there has been no issue. If anything, my Blood attribute has been reacting positively.]
[So it could be a combination of Life energy and Blood mana?] (Eva)
[Possibility? I am still studying that.] (Syrus)
[Interesting… if it is not immediately noticeable, then there could be other things mixed in…] Eva continued silently theorising.
While they were having this discussion, Syrus decided it would be best not to be completely silent to their talking partner, so she asked, “Say, Velelenra, why did you even invite me here in the first place?”
It was a question she had been wondering about for a while, as just being strong didn’t seem like the full answer.
“Hmm… Strong humans don’t come around too often.” Said Velelenra.
Luna questioned, “That’s it?”
“Yes, Marazada is a very good judge of power and considered you one of the strongest humans he had ever seen. I don’t see it, as besides your aura, so you don’t seem too special.” The demoness declared. “But Marazada's judgement has never been wrong before, so I came along.”
The demoness grinned as she smiled cheek to cheek, “And oh, but you were a treat in your own way. Strong-willed humans that aren’t annoying are a rare breed.”
“I’ll take it as a compliment.”
“You better.” The demoness' tail floated around Anlesa’s back and curled. She rested her hand on her face as she brought her smile back. “So… will you be joining us for the activities?”
“You're going to keep on asking?”
“Well, you have been making me feel giddy inside about the possibility.” The demoness wrapped her arms around her body as she floated for a moment. “And I’ve seen your stares; you are thinking about it.”
Syrus answered, “Perhaps.”
[Syrus, we cannot.] (Luna)
[But it could be the method to heal our wounds. It's been so long since our first transformation, and we still haven’t fully recovered.] (Syrus)
[That’s because of my recklessness.] (Luna)
[Hardly, even if we all did nothing, we would still be in a bad state.] (Syrus)
[Syrus… has a point. We have been like this for far too long…] (Eva)
Luna argued back, [And? Time will heal our wounds, and for the time being, we have a responsibility.]
[I haven’t forgotten about the children. They will manage.] (Syrus)
[Well, how exactly are we supposed to convince the kids that we are going to stay here for a few more days?] Luna stated, [They will be wanting to see their friends again.] She tried using the children’s feelings as a reason why they shouldn’t, but she did believe it was for the best to take the kids home now.
[Lying to them would be bad…] (Eva)
[Who said we would need to lie to them?] (Syrus)
[Hmm?] (Eva)
[There are many ways we can give them the truth. We can tell them that we want them to stay here for a few days to get healed up, as we are hiding Moonlight from them. We can also just say we have to stay here as part of the deal.] (Syrus)
[But there was no deal?] (Eva)
[Not yet.] (Syrus)
[That’s… dastardly.] (Luna)
[A weird word to use to describe a great plan.] (Syrus)
Their internal debate began to heat up as they struggled to decide on the next course of action. Syrus was now firmly in the camp and staying to fight. Even if they don’t get hit by the intense light, if they stick around for the training sessions and get knocked out quickly in the actual tournament, the light that was used to heal the general demons could be enough to repair their deeper issues and at the very least speed up their recovery time.
Luna sat on the opposite end of the debate. She wanted to leave as soon as physically possible. Yes, there might be a possibility of being healed to a large extent, but that was still only a possibility. To even have the chance of that, they would have to fight, which was already a big ask for their current body. Not to mention, they had a responsibility to bring the children home safe and sound.
[Lilly?] (Luna)
[Eva?] (Syrus)
The responsibility for the decision ended up being laid on Eva, as she was the most divided, and Luna and Syrus wouldn’t budge from their position.
[Ergh… they really should see their family again… and we could come back to get healed.] Eva began rambling about her points. She ended by saying all of Luna’s and Syrus’ points again as they listed the positives and negatives. Due to the ‘festival’ happening so frequently, Eva figured it was nearly worth it once they had dropped the children off to stay here for a month to experience the healing multiple times. Though that would depend on the effect of repeated doses of the healing effect. [We are in no state to properly fight another dangerous enemy… So what if we come across another one on the way back… but the demons could cause more damage to us than what the healing could provide for us.]
[Luna, Syrus, no matter my decision, you both will be fully on board, right?] (Eva)
[Yes.] (Luna)
[That is how we do it.] (Syrus)
For the first time, Eva spoke to the demon, “Hey, Velelenra, can I ask for a favour?”
