Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1192: As Long as I’m Here
But does Dr. Shelby like her?
Jasmine frowned, "Here’s someone who’s confessed, but the other hasn’t made a move yet."
"Aunt."
Jocelyn quickly held her hand, worried she might say something to Dr. Shelby. "Please give me a little more time, okay? Matters of the heart need time to be carefully considered."
"Alright, alright." Jasmine said, "As long as you’re willing to consider it, I promise not to rush you. But don’t take too long; such an outstanding man, you might miss the chance."
In Ian Shelby’s office.
Two family members of patients came to inquire about conditions, and Ian patiently explained the illness and comforted them, assuring that everything would get better.
"Thank you, Dr. Shelby." Ian’s gentleness prompted their gratitude, and then they turned to leave.
In a certain ward.
Jasmine said to Jocelyn, "I plan to be discharged; go and talk to Dr. Shelby about it."
"..." Jocelyn looked at Jasmine with a peculiar expression.
"I’m not using this as an excuse for you to go to him; I really want to be discharged!" she explained, "I can’t live in the hospital forever, right?"
"Alright." Jocelyn didn’t want to stay here any longer either; the sooner discharged, the sooner relieved.
"But Jocelyn." Watching her walk to the door, Jasmine, as an elder, couldn’t help but say a few more words, "If you like Dr. Shelby, you need to find a way to understand his feelings."
Jocelyn’s cheeks flushed slightly, "We’re talking about discharge now!"
"Yes, yes, go discuss it, quick!"
And so, she left the ward and headed towards Ian’s office.
After Vera Ford left, Ian put down his pen and thought about the moment Trevor confessed to Jocelyn; his usually calm mood became inexplicably restless.
It felt like something that belonged to him was being coveted.
Yes, he was uneasy.
At the door, Vera came in, "Ian, my leg hurts." She sat down on the chair next to him, "Can you take a look?"
"Go find Dr. Zhang." Ian spoke softly.
Vera dared not speak another word; she sensed a certain indifference and distance. Was Ian in a bad mood?
She stood up, feeling wronged, and left.
Yet at the doorway, she met Jocelyn, who was evidently there to see Ian too.
Vera paused slightly, rolled her eyes at her, then strode away.
This left Jocelyn feeling bewildered; glancing at the distant figure, she wondered, had she offended her somehow?
In the office, Ian looked up, his calm gaze fell on her.
Jocelyn withdrew her gaze and stepped into the office, "Dr. Shelby, my aunt wants to be discharged, is it possible?"
"Yes." Ian opened a drawer, took out a meal plan, and handed it to her, "Give this to her." Then he took out some medication, "Here."
She reached out to take it, "..."
"I’ll handle the discharge procedures; you can leave anytime." Ian said.
Jocelyn was slightly stunned, "Can we leave now?"
"Yes." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Jocelyn felt it was too much trouble for him; even the discharge procedures were handled by him? Is this appropriate?
Ian noticed what she was thinking; he told her, "I’m here."
Those three words, for the second time from his mouth, made her feel warm inside, "Alright!" She bowed deeply to him, "Thank you!" and then turned to leave.
Such a grand gesture left Ian a bit surprised.
When he gathered his thoughts, the girl’s silhouette had already vanished at the doorway.
They were about to be discharged.
Ian didn’t know when they would meet again, feeling a bit lost as he gazed at the door.
But this was a hospital; he had no reason to keep them here for long.
Soon, more family members came in to inquire, and he duly made some notes; not long after, a doctor arrived, "Director, the surgery is about to start."
"Alright." Ian took off his lab coat, put on his surgical uniform, calm and confident, brushing away all low emotions.
He quickly stepped toward the operating room; he was quite busy.
