Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1197: Fortunately, I Ran Into Ian Shelby
"Auntie! Please don’t worry! I’ll go find her immediately!" Jocelyn forced herself to stay calm and quickly reassured her, "I’ll contact you as soon as there’s any news!"
"Jocelyn, I’m begging you!" The desperate voice of the middle-aged woman on the phone cried out, "She’s our only daughter, please make sure to help us find her!"
"Okay!"
As soon as the call ended, Jocelyn hurried downstairs while dialing Cecilia Dunn’s phone number, it was turned off!
She didn’t even have time to eat breakfast and rushed straight out of the living room!
"Jocelyn, where are you going?!" Jasmine got up from the sofa, startled by her urgent demeanor.
At the doorway, Jocelyn paused and turned back, "Aunt! Cecilia Dunn left a farewell letter and ran away from home! I need to go find her!"
Having said that, she got into a car in the yard and quickly drove off!
"Slow down! Your driving skills aren’t steady yet!"
Jocelyn had already driven far away, her heart was racing, "What a silly girl, dying for a scumbag! Aren’t you sorry for your parents?! If I find you, I won’t spare you!"
She had just recently gotten her driver’s license, and for the first time, she drove up to 150!
The car sped along, yet she didn’t notice.
All the way, she constantly thought, where’s the most likely place that girl would go?!
As she contemplated, suddenly an address popped into her mind—
The little tavern they often visited!
Jocelyn’s speed increased, and she took the opportunity to dial Cecilia Dunn’s number again, still turned off.
It was a tranquil morning when a black Volvo approached from the opposite direction.
At a speed of seventy or eighty, Ian Shelby was in the driver’s seat wearing a white shirt, the beautiful dawn light filtering through the window, casting on his handsome face.
A song was playing in the car.
He leaned back against the seat with an air of relaxation, appearing both gentle and sunny.
In front of the little tavern.
Ian Shelby slightly turned the steering wheel to the right to avoid a suddenly appearing electric bicycle, Jocelyn’s car sped directly towards him!
By the time she reacted and slammed the brakes, the two cars had grazed each other and stopped.
"Damn it." Jocelyn unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car, walked around to look at the sides of the cars, and quickly came to the driver’s seat, "Sorry for the trou..." Upon a closer look, it was Ian!
Ian hadn’t expected it to be her either.
Seeing her panicked expression, coupled with the speed of the car just now, he quickly opened the door and got out, "Did something happen?"
Jocelyn’s eyes were full of anxiety, "A life is at stake, I need to check inside first!" With that, she turned around and dashed into the tavern! 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Ian glanced at the sign, swung the car door shut, and quickly followed her inside.
The atmosphere in the tavern was abundant, not noisy at all, with some slow music playing.
The lighting effects inside were excellent, it was a somewhat upscale place, not very big, easy to find someone.
After Ian went in, he saw Jocelyn searching around, almost turning over girls’ shoulders one by one, "Sorry..." Obviously, she was looking for someone.
He swiftly approached her from behind, holding her shoulder tightly, "Jocelyn, who are you looking for?!"
"Cecilia Dunn, my best friend." Jocelyn panicked, sweat trickling down her forehead, "Her mom just called me, saying she left a farewell letter and ran away from home." She anxiously glanced around, speaking with a hint of a sob, "This is the tavern we often visit, I guess she might be here, but..."
"Think again." Ian remained level-headed, tightened his grip on her shoulder, "Is there anywhere else she could go?"
Jocelyn’s mind was in turmoil, helplessly shaking her head, shivering as she took out her phone to dial Cecilia Dunn’s number again, "It’s still turned off..."
"Let’s go."
Ian took her arm, leading her out, "Try to think, where else could she go?"
Outside the tavern, Ian opened the passenger door of his car, "Get in."
Jocelyn hesitated, glanced at her car nearby.
"You can’t drive like this." Ian practically pushed her into his car and then quickly got into the driver’s seat, "Have you thought of a place yet? I’ll take you there."
"By the river!" A vision popped into her mind, and she began to guide, "Go ahead! Turn right! It’s where there’s a row of stairs!"
Ian started the car, familiar with that place.
Jocelyn remembered Cecilia once jokingly saying that jumping into the river is the best relief for depression, because jumping off a building is too painful.
The Volvo dashed forward, Ian asked curiously, "How long has it been since you got your driver’s license?"
"Two months."
"..." He squeezed his sweat for her, amazed she could drive at such a speed!
After quite a while, Jocelyn finally calmed down, she turned to ask, "Don’t you have work? Taking time here to help me find someone will take a long time."
"Right now it’s about saving a life." Ian replied casually, "Going to the hospital is treatment, which is more important?"
