Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1227: Failed Flirtation
Trevor had no interest in matters concerning this woman. If she didn’t want to explain, he wasn’t going to bother guessing.
His gaze retreated, and he tilted his head back, sipping his drink and listening to the music as his mind began to wander—
"On a journey without you, struggling alone, never exposing my pain to anyone. I know I’ll never meet someone like you again..."
The lyrics touched his heart, adding a tinge of sadness.
Vera Ford looked at him again. His profile was truly handsome, features chiseled like a sculpture, so refined that he seemed unreachable, "Your name is Trevor, right?"
She had read the news recently; it was trending, after all.
Trevor had taken over as CEO of The Dalton Group, and he was Mrs. Kingston Mia Lane’s biological brother.
He didn’t respond.
"Your name sounds so nice." Vera couldn’t help but smile softly.
Trevor’s expression remained cold as he drank continuously, ignoring her, nor did he tell her to leave.
He seemed indifferent to everything around him.
"Actually, I think we might feel somewhat alike right now." In this atmosphere, Vera felt an urge to express herself.
She sighed lightly and said with a bitter smile, "You haven’t even fallen in love yet and you’re already heartbroken, same with me."
Once more glancing at him, Vera observed his profile.
Trevor’s expression changed slightly, as he hated when people presumed to know his thoughts, especially people who had nothing to do with him.
With a slight tilt of his head, his eyes were sharp.
The woman was startled by his gaze, "I like Ian Shelby," she said stiffly, "I didn’t even get a chance to confess, and he was already taken."
Trevor didn’t know what to say; so what if you confessed?
He merely glanced at her and then withdrew his gaze.
"Trevor."
In such an ambiance, under the hypnotic lights and with the influence of alcohol, Vera reached out and placed her hand on Trevor’s shoulder.
His face darkened.
"Trevor, why don’t we just have a flash marriage?"
Vera had a bold idea, feeling a sudden interest in him, and her hand seemed to intentionally or unintentionally graze his shoulder.
Trevor’s eyes were chillingly attentive, "Take your hand away!" he said in a subdued, rather displeased tone.
Vera was intimidated by his piercing gaze, blushed immediately, and obediently withdrew her hand.
An awkward atmosphere lingered in the air.
He kept people at a significant distance.
"Don’t you want revenge?" Vera asked him, unwilling to give up.
The man’s icy gaze was full of warning, "Listen to me: if you truly love someone, open your heart and give them your blessing!"
"I can’t do it," Vera blurted out, wishing she could tear Jocelyn Morgan apart.
The man’s eyes narrowed slightly, his cold and handsome face was instantly covered in a layer of frost, "If you plan to cause trouble, I will deal with you." He understood her intentions in an instant.
Vera was frightened by his warning, her body going rigid.
Trevor’s eyes withdrew, and after finishing the last sip in his glass, he got up and left.
His aide followed him towards the direction of the restroom.
Vera turned her gaze, her eyes fixed on his retreating figure, as if she were rooted in place.
A man walked past the coffee table, his fingers brushing against the remaining half bottle of whiskey.
Vera sat alone on the curved sofa, downing her drink in one swift motion. Her heart was in extreme agony, and she picked up the bottle on the coffee table, drinking directly from it!
The spilling liquor trickled down her neck into her cleavage, and she drank the bottle dry in one go.
Soon, her body began to warm up, the slight intoxication quickly turning intense.
Leaning back against the chair, she tried hard to dispel the sadness in her heart, breathing heavily.
The bar changed songs—
"Time is arranged, playing out an accident. You slip away quietly, the story unfolds outside the city, the thick fog refuses to clear, obscuring the dialogue, you can’t hear it, the wind doesn’t exist, it’s only my lament..."
Several times she attempted to rise, but her legs felt weak, collapsing back into the sofa each time.
She hadn’t expected the alcohol to be this strong!
Soon, her vision began to blur, and her consciousness grew hazy.
All her body could feel was one thing—heat!
Heat to the point of explosion!
With a doctor’s knowledge, she knew this wasn’t normal!
