Clara Thornton had become the Lady of the Quincy Family for some time now, and she still felt it was somewhat unreal.

She never could have imagined that she would end up entangled with a man like Thomas Quincy.

She had thought she would grow old and die in the lab, that this was her life to lead.

"No reason." Clara immediately looked down, feeling guilty.

Thomas smirked, "I won’t lose a pound of flesh, but I think instead of being sneaky, you might as well look openly. Wherever you want to look, I’ll let you see."

Hearing his words, Clara rolled her eyes.

Indeed, she couldn’t think too highly of him; he still left her speechless.

Thomas, seeing Clara’s vivid expression, felt moved. He immediately bent down slightly and scooped her up in his arms.

"Thomas, what are you doing? Put me down now."

The man ignored her and walked directly toward the bedroom.

Clara woke up on the big bed and looked at Thomas beside her, an unconscious smile on her lips. Despite her body aching, she felt a touch of sweetness in her heart.

Suddenly, she thought marriage was actually quite good.

Thomas slowly opened his eyes, with a somewhat blank expression as he looked around, and when he saw Clara next to him, his pupils constricted.

Then his face darkened, and he looked at Clara with gloomy eyes, "Why are you here?"

Clara’s smile froze.

She was his wife; where else would she be if not here?
