Chapter 112: Complete submission

In a way, the look in his eyes was not so foreign after all... It echoed the remanence of that same glare he’d had on within her most recent dream or... Nightmare.

Silas held her figure so close his warm breath ricocheted against her earlobe then back to him.

In the face of all the efforts Arabella put in, her gemstones refused to meet his diamonds as the grin adorning his lips discouraged them from doing so.

The young woman’s heart pumped blood twice if not thrice as fast through her streams, shortening her breath as a result.

Silas watched amused as the pale ivory around her face gradually switched to a scarlet one, deepening by the second, all the while tightening his hold around her waist, drawing her closer to himself ever so slowly.

"Where did all of that confidence go?"

He’d whispered right in her ear, wrenching a shiver that traveled from the lowest point of her feet up the highest hair on her head. The vibration it’d induced rippled through his arm before reaching his chest which did not help quell his ardor one bit. On the contrary, his muscles tensed further, locking her in place.

Her voice had long since fallen asleep or simply abandoned her and aside from the loud, shallow breaths that escaped her control, not a single peep came from her.

Arabella had laid both hands flat on him, but no matter the amount of pushing she did, it changed absolutely nothing to her situation.

By the time Silas had stopped pulling her towards him, her breasts were completely pressed against his chest.

"Won’t you say anything?" with those words, his lips brushed her ear fleetingly, earning yet another tiny jolt out of her, "No?" in the sultriest voice the vampire had ever spoken in, he feigned disappointment.

Much to her surprise, his heartbeat wasn’t as tame as she’d expected it to be. Indeed, through the direct connection of their chests, the young woman finally had access to the tune of his heart.

It was not a peaceful one in the slightest. In fact, their heart rates might as well have been synchronized for that matter. Both beating almost at the same pace.

Their clothes prevented contact, but his touch still set her skin ablaze and considering their matching rhythm, it must have felt the same for him as well. Even though one would have never been able to tell through his steady and orderly breathing. However, that was less of a miracle if yet another wonder the vampire body was blessed with.

"Show me your eyes," deep as a growl yet soft as a whisper, "Look at me," he demanded a tad more firmly.

When her neck refused to budge, his free hand rose and took her by the chin. Slowly but surely, his fingers spread, fitting her entire jaw in his palm.

Silas never squeezed yet the gentle tickle he inflicted upon her was enough for her neck muscles to cave, thus turning his way until their breaths joined together.

His diamonds darted about at places then lingered on others as he studied her eyes with utmost scrutiny.

"For a moment there I thought you’d succumbed to the Mirari, but then this flaring green in your eyes screams so loud, it can never be ignored. Tell me why?" he breathed in the steamiest of tones, but seeing the little furrow accentuating the arching of her eyebrows, the vampire decided to continue, "Why you, huh? What is it about you that makes you immune to it?" his thumb rubbed on her cheek sweetly.

"I am afraid I can’t answer that, Master," brittle as sugar glass, her voice had finally returned.

"That’s alright, I suppose. We have all the time we need to later figure it out, but for now, I...," he trailed off, seemingly lost in her eyes.

Once Arabella’s gaze had locked on his, it was no longer possible to avert it. She took it all in; the sparkling, the flickering flames and spectral colors that enriched his eyes.

"You had your chance to leave, and you let it go," his hand fondled her waist while still maintaining her pressed against him.

Arabella’s figure stiffened, fearing he’d need to explore further, but he never did. After several minutes of silent staring into the tantalizing ocean of green that gaped back at him, Silas eventually applied some pressure with his thumb, actively craning her face up a little, thus allowing him full access to her tender neck.

His hand slowly traveled down for his thumb to take her pulse. The erratic throbs emanating from it radiated through his entire being, rattling his core until every barrier he’d erected had been crashed and once the floodgates were down, there was no stopping him.

Silas took one last deep breath before sinking his fangs into her. The tiniest of moans escaped her the instant they’d penetrated her flesh.

A satisfying surge quickly followed, causing her eyeballs to reel back into her head as all of the tension that had built in her muscles mellowed, entirely surrendering to his warmth.

Heavenly tingles spawned in her neck, right under the effect of the wet lips which abetted the sucking of her blood. They shot around in every direction under her skin, stirring complete disorder in her senses.

Acquainted with the feeling or not, it’d rendered her as weak and lightheaded as the very first time she’d experienced it.

Sensing her complete submission, Silas clenched her body harder against his before delicately combing his fingers through her hair with the other hand.

He inhaled her essence deeply as the liquid ambrosia forsook her veins to rush every fiber in him. At lightning speed, the exhilaration kicked in, imbuing him with life, igniting every corner in his brain.

Arabella’s eyes continuously fluttered open then shut, effectively blending every color around her into a vermillion miscellany that blurred and faded until nothing, but fervor remained.

By then, her feet had long since left the ground, becoming his burden and no one else’s.
